Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5085 is contained in storage room-13 in a 16mm thick 20 x 20in glass container, with the bottom of the container lined with 6mm of grounded silicon rubber to prevent any possible accidental or random electrical discharge.

Any personnel that wish to access and perform tests on SCP-5085 are to submit their request to SCP-5085's containment location (Site-1438) and must have a minimum clearance of level 3. Any test performed on SCP-5085 will be performed within SCP-5085's designated testing site to prevent any accidental or dangerous electrical shortage throughout (Site-1438).

+ Testing Protocol

[ Testing Protocol: SCP-5085 can be tested at any time and by any clearance level at or above 1, as long as there is an additional level 1 operative overlooking the experiment. After The Breakdown Incident, there have been multiple new regulations on testing with SCP-5085. SCP-5085's testing room is a large 200 square foot room that is completely grounded and nonflammable. Any personnel testing are required to wear the provided maximum capacity EH-rated boots, and Class 4 electrical protection work gloves to prevent any accidental electrical injuries or discharge into the tester.

Note: If the testing personnel requests and has been granted the ability to wear SCP-5085, they are permitted to remove the right hand glove to adorn SCP-5085 properly. Testing will only occur when the electrical systems of (Site-1438) are functioning properly, and the backup generator is capable of remaining active for 72 hours without failure.

SCP-5085 will be transported in its container and is only to be removed from the container when in its designated testing room. SCP-5085's digits are to remain partially closed at all times during testing, unless SCP-5085 is going to be worn and the testing personnel has requested and has been granted the ability to discharge.

During any test with SCP-5085, a level 4 Security officer is to monitor the personnel testing SCP-5085, and if any malicious act is suspected the overseeing officer is permitted to terminate the test. If the personnel testing refuses to comply with the overseeing officer, the officer can radio for permission to use lethal force, and if the situation calls for such action, it will be permitted. ]

Description: SCP-5085 is a right handed thick leather glove, that is heavily encased with gray flaked stone, which comes to a sharp and thinning 1.5in length point on all digits of the "Gauntlet." SCP-5085 has a large, curved and thick wrist guard that comes out and up from the end of SCP-5085's dorsal side at an estimated 50 degrees.

The width of each digit is an estimated 3 centimeters, and the thickness being an estimated 3.5 ranging due to SCP-5085's method of construction. SCP-5085's stone material appears to be a form of metamorphic rock, and is very dense, but non-abrasive. SCP-5085 weighs 4.7 pounds, and measures at 8 inches tall including the wrist guard, and 6 inches wide with each digit sprawled.

The construction and appearance of SCP-5085 is fairly primitive, and seems to mimic scales, with each flaked rock creating a scale-like shape that overlaps the other, with each possessing small inconsistencies which results in minute vary in size and slight imperfections with digit articulation. SCP-5085's palmar and dorsal sides consist of large plates of similar metamorphic rock, with the palmar side of SCP-5085 being plated so it can collapse and properly articulate.

Warning: If you do not have clearance of above level 2, or do not have registered allowance into the historical documents or test logs of SCP-5085, you are incapable of reading its historical text. Disregarding this information will enlist reconciliation and punishment.

+ Known information of anomalous function

[ SCP-5085 actively charges itself with electricity through friction being generated with positively charged electrons within its metamorphic rock, and can discharge these electrons when the digits of the glove are sprawled outwards, launching a large stream of stored positively charged electrons outwards.

Additionally, SCP-5085 constantly negatively charges electrons in front of it, even if this object is not currently electrically grounded through currently unknown means. Both of these electron interactions result in SCP-5085 being capable of instantaneous electrical discharge from distances up to 300ft and ranging from voltage up to one billion depending on the time between discharges.

The average voltage increase per minute is 1,000v. No visible damage is recorded on SCP-5085 and even after the highest recorded discharge from SCP-5085 being 1,000,004,378v there is no visible scarring from heat or flash electrical damage. The average time for a discharge from SCP-5085 is estimated to be 4 seconds, and the heat generated from the discharge can reach up to 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit. SCP-5085's creators are unknown, and it was discovered in Shanga Tuyin Hangaori, China after a search team was sent to investigate an intense and unwarranted electrical discharge throughout the area.

+ Material Composition Testing

Doctor ███████s requested an experiment on SCP-5085 regarding its metamorphic rock. After a detailed assessment of the test's goal, the request was accepted.

SCP-5085 was placed on a silicon wrapped pedestal to support the gauntlet and be capable of delicate and precise measurement and detailed examination. A quantum microscope was ported into the testing room, and used to attempt gathering information of the particle composition and formation inside SCP-5085, although upon activation of the microscope, a large discharge from SCP-5085 was sent up and through the microscope, and actively permanently retiring it. This discharge was possibly set off by the negative charges being released within the microscope during its activation, although that theory isn't particularly supported by SCP-5085's known properties regarding needs for discharge. Further research is needed.

Experiment was deemed unsuccessful.

14:54 AM: Strike team 413 is airdropped 16,000ft in the air and 8 miles away from target in a barren field, on a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk to prevent any suspicion within the area.

16:21 AM: Strike team 413 has made visual contact with suspected anomalous occurrence and plans a silent entry into residence, which is described to be a 2 story concrete building consisting of 5 windows facing eastern towards the designated entry point, non illuminated with 4 vehicles in the surrounding area and a suspected group of residents that are currently unaware of Strike teams presence.

16:57 AM: Strike team 413 has reached the suspected anomalous residence and are deploying a XU34 - Type 2 SED (Silent Entry Device.)

17:03 AM: Strike team 413 has actively entered suspected anomalous building.

17:07 AM: Strike team 413 has made contact with 4 residents and have confirmed an anomalous occurrence within the residence.

17:09 AM: Strike team 413 was attacked by instance - 1 and have lost 4 of the 6 operatives, registering that a resident is "Deploying an electrical weapon." The remaining 2 operatives are eventually successful in the elimination of instance - 1 and have successfully retrieved and secured anomalous object, which is described as a "gauntlet."

17:12 AM: Strike team 413 was retrieved in a Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk on site of incident, and have erased all residents. 413 additionally planted thermal charges that will detonate at approximately 20:29 PM planned for a TACI-2 [terroristic act coverup incident, with level 2 damage and risk ratings].

20:35 PM: Chinese government declares victim of terrorist attacks and has accused the Mongolian government of developing rogue instances within their country, threatening to retaliate with lethal force.

20:45 PM: Operation deemed a partial success with loss of 4 operatives.

+ The Breakdown Incident

At 13:04 PM two level 1 class operatives requested testing, and were approved for active discharge testing with protective equipment and an overseeing level 1 operative.

After the active tester and overseeing operative accessed SCP-5085, an extreme electrical discharge caused both the primary and backup generators to shorts and overheat, needing immediate repair and causing multiple escape instances on site.

Primary and overseeing testers were then seen attacking and destroying multiple on site technologies, as well as shorting and destroying multiple SCP containment cell monitors and door controllers, causing even more escape instances. After strike team [REDACTED] was released, both of the rogue level one operatives broke into the sites control room and eliminated numerous site personnel, and began to charge towards the Heavy containment area, with strike team [REDACTED] an estimated 30 meters out, still unable to access the site cameras, incapable of locating the rogue operatives.

Rogue operatives successfully traversed through heavy containment, and were heading towards the low clearance elevator on the level three light containment section by using the stairwell east of strike team [REDACTED] , shorting out everything in their path. strike team [REDACTED] then obtained clearance, and intercepted the rogue operatives as they were exiting the stairwell. As seen from a low level clarity hall security camera, After multiple low level discharges from SCP-5085, only 3 of the 5 strike team operatives where still capable of retaliating, seeing the two front operatives screaming in the intense sparks that where searing and melting their body armor into their skin, with one operatives mask filter becoming molten and inhaled by the operator. [REDACTED] ensued lethal force upon the rogue operatives and eliminated the overseeing operative, though the testing operative survived by staying behind him. strike team [REDACTED] took rouge instance - 4 and questioned him previous to his permanent termination.

ForeWord This is the interview performed by SCP-5085's site overseer actively questioned the rogue operative Collin on his experience with SCP-5085 and the reason for his rogue actions.

Interviewer: Am I correct to believe that you, at approximately 1PM this afternoon Decided it was a bright idea to rip an active secure site to shreds?

Collin: It wasn't really my idea at first, in fact honestly I didn't really know what I was getting into until I put that thing on, but when it felt it, and used it, there wasn't a doubt in my mind what I was going to do with it.

Interviewer: What exactly do you mean, did SCP-5085 make you feel anything unnatural, something you couldn't have felt before?

Collin: It made me feel… like I couldn't stop. No, like I shouldn't. What reason, if any, could anybody possibly present to stop me from going on with anything Id want? It tingled every time I spewed those sparks, the boom, it was like I was a storm, an unending, and unstoppable torrent of lighting. It made me feel like I wasn't even me, like that glove turned me into something much, much bigger than myself. The euphoria, the stinging excitement I got every time I heard that things thunder, it was more than anything you could ever possibly describe.

Interviewer: So you ran rampant through the facility because it made you feel good? And risked not only the deaths of all our personnel, most of which actually died, but you also risked permanent containment breach because you were having some sort of fun?

Collin: I didn't have the ability to grasp the fact I was doing what I was, to be honest then and there I really wasn't even thinking straight, my hand was like the hand of god, I bent the metal around me like it was a hot knife through butter. That control, that power all from some stupid glove covered in gray rocks, it was simply put, insane.

Interviewer: Could you feel your hand, or anything? You used It so many times, no ones ever opened their hand more than once, what exactly can you recollect in terms of actual sensation, other than excitement?

Collin: I felt numb. The only real thing I could still full and readily articulate was my hands, my legs were like blended jelly, I couldn't put together what came from where, I just knew it was there, and it made me feel unstoppable.

Interviewer: Thank you for the info. You may leave, your reconciliation will be waiting outside the door.

+ Post Incident Problems.

[After the Breakdown incident, SCP-5085 has refused to be worn. Multiple recurring tests has deemed SCP-5085 to be actively and consciously aware of its being and is physically refusing being worn.

On 7/2/2008 SCP-5085 randomly discharged and grounded into its containment chamber, and after a series of tests has been deemed viable for testing again.

On 7/4/2008 SCP-5085 Was undergoing testing.

Testing operative 14 will continue this log with personal experience.

"When I had put on SCP-5085, I did it very slowly, and felt something.. prickly inside of it, it was like little pins and needles tickling my fingers trying to figure out what my hand was. Once I had completely put on the glove, I felt it conform to my hand very tightly. I discharged SCP-5085 after a few minutes of checking vitals and gauging articulation, and after discharging SCP-5085 seized and refused to discharge again for approximately 23 minutes, and then complied with discharging."

It is believed after this test, that SCP-5085 is possibly self aware and conscious of the actions performed with it in the past, and refused being the culprit for something like that again. More Research will need to be performed but for now SCP-5085 seems calm, and is complying with testing. ]
