Item #: SCP-4921
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4921 is contained in a locked briefcase in a 5 meter by 5-meter cell. The briefcase should be locked at all times unless tests are being conducted, as well as the cell in which the briefcase is placed.
Description:
SCP-4921 is an ordinary looking sewing kit that closes with a magnet. The kit is a small tin about the size of a mint container that contains a sewing needle, thread, sewing scissors, and a pin cushion with several pins in it. The tin, as well as the objects within it, appear to be brand new despite it being a sewing kit sold in the early 1950s.
When a human test subject is near the sewing kit outside of its containment, they have an intense urge to open it and examine the contents. If they touch the sewing kit, the urge becomes stronger and they will attempt to open the kit regardless of how much they are told not too. It often takes physical restrainment to stop the subject from opening the sewing kit.
If the sewing kit is opened, the subject begins to remove its contents in a trancelike state. They will then proceed to use the sewing tools to sew every orifice on their body shut, not displaying a sign of hesitation or pain. The subject will likely die if not taken away from SCP-4921 and treated quickly.
Test subjects have reported feeling like the sewing kit is speaking into their minds, telling them to open it. The voice reportedly sounds pleasant and non-threatening, and they cannot distinguish the gender of the voice.
Subjects have also reported that the sudden act of sewing their own mouths, nostrils, etc. shut is involuntary and that they black out while doing so, not feeling the pain. Further testing has revealed that when they are in this mindless state, they cannot wake up until the entire procedure has been completed.
