Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a small naval force of no less than 4 Type 23 Anti-Submarine frigates, 1 Diesel-electric submarine of any class and 4 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters for patrol and containment. No nuclear powered vessel is to observe SCP-XXXX.1 Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, there is no permanent containment site. Any and all messages brodcasted from SCP-XXX should be decoded as soon as it is intercepted2. If civilian vessels come within the 50 km by 50 km exclusion zone, they are to be informed that a naval exercise is in effect and that it is a restricted zone. If a vessel continues it, is to be boarded and the crew is to be administered class B animistics and returned outside the exclusion zone. In the case of an activation event, SCP-XXXX is to be attacked with depth charges until it sinks and ceases movement. If this shall fail and SCP-XXXX successfully breaks contact, all Foundation naval assets are to be alerted and begin to search for SCP-XXXX. Once SCP-XXXX is located it is to attacked until it ceases activity and sinks to the bottom of the sea. If SCP-XXXX cannot be sunk, a nuclear depth bomb is to be detonated immediately to sink SCP-XXXX only if SCP-XXXX has been active for over 6 months. As off 12/1/19 SCP-XXXX is located off the south coast of Ireland at 49°57'28.6"N 10°02'40.3"W
Description:SCP-XXXX is a unknown class of submarine measuring approximetly 75 meters in length and 10 meters in height. When SCP-XXXX is sunk on the bottom of a body of water it is in a dormant state. During this state SCP-XXXX will remain inanimate on the floor of the body of water. SCP-XXXX cannot be removed from the sea due to it's ability to displace itself when it remains on the surface a body of water. Damage to SCP-XXXX is visable on it's hull but no damages recived to date has broken SCP-XXXX's hull. SCP-XXXX posses the ability to repair any damage it sustains over a period of time ranging from 2 hours to 7 years. Upon completing it's repairs, SCP-XXXX will rapidly rise to the surface. Once SCP-XXXX is on the surface of a body of water it will displace itself through unknown means and appare in any body of water that is large enough contain it.
When SCP-XXXX reappears it will proceed to hunt for any naval vessles in the immediate area. If a ship cannot be found SCP-XXXX will submerge and travel at random. Once a vessel is found, SCP-XXXX will proceed to fire between 1 and 4 torpedoes at the vessle. The torpedo's payload varies on how long SCP-XXXX has been inactive for. See the list of torpedoe payloads for further detail.
SCP-XXXX constantly broadcasts encrypted messages even while inactive. The means to which SCP-XXXX broadcasts these messages are unknown. Any messages that are intercepted will be attempted to decrypted and documented.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was initally discovered on ██-██-1968 after reports of an unknown vessel picked up on sonar by the United States navy submarine USS Scorpion. Soon after these reports the USS scorpion went rado silent and would not respond to any attempts to make contact with the vessel.
