SCP-XXXX in containment.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard canine containment kennel with new food and water every day. Staff do not need to be cautious around SCP-XXXX since the entity is friendly, and most of the time does not even interact with staff. Regular grooming should be done every 30-40 days.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a anomaly that closely resembles that of a typical domesticated canine, with the height of approximately 0.3 meters. It's color is a completely dark, smooth, clean grey all around the body. The entity posses all four limbs, but lacks extremities such as paws, or a tail. Instead of paws, the legs end in stubs, balanced on balled up, matted fur. The entity also lacks any visible orifices, or genitalia. This implies the anomaly lacks any digestive track or endocrine system typical of a domesticated canine.

The entity also wears a Elizabethan collar on its head, that covers all of its face. This cannot be removed. If someone attempts to look at the entities face, an odd force stops them from doing so. No matter how hard they try, the invisible force simply will not go away. If it turns it’s head, so does said invisible force. If a camera or any kind of device that can capture imagery is placed in angle of it's face, the device will not take the picture. If a video is already being recorded and is attempted to be placed in the angle of recording SCP-XXXX's face, the camera will break.

The anomaly does not make any sound, at all. Not even footsteps or body movements. Also, the entity is believed to be very unintelligent, perhaps even brain dead, which is plausible since the entity has been seen doing seemingly mindless actions and/or activities, for example occasionally bumping into the walls of it’s containment chamber, wandering around completely unaware of its surroundings, and little to no awareness of it being in danger. Though the entity doesn’t cause harm to most beings, it can still cause harm.

The only harm it does, which might not even be on purpose is when it interacts with domestic canines. The domestic canines are the only known living beings that can view its face. However, if the canine does view SCP-XXXX's face, it will enter a extreme state of distress, and will do things such as whine, back away from the entity, bark, and other actions. Even when away from SCP-XXXX, the behavior continues. This activity will continue for days. Eventually after a week or so, the canine enters a extreme meltdown similar to a panic attack, but eventually stops after a few hours. This can lead up to the canine even dying. The behavior stops 5-8 weeks after this meltdown, and the canine goes back to normal.
