Description: SCP-XXXX is the remaining structure of a civilization submerged within the Gakkel Ridge¹, located roughly 6,231m below sea level. The architectural style of SCP-XXXX suggests Greco-Roman origins; however, animal artifacts found within SCP-XXXX date back to roughly [REDACTED] BCE, predating ancient Greece by several thousand years. Documents regarding SCP-XXXX's existence suggest that it had once existed above sea level as an island, prior to becoming submerged.

Artifacts recovered from SCP-XXXX suggest it had existed as an active trading hub. Remnants of a number of non-anomalous goods as well as anomalous goods have been retrieved from merchant shops. The discernible origins of non-anomalous goods have included ancient China, Sumer, the Aztec Empire, the Roman Empire, ancient India, and Visigoth tribes. No points of origin have been conclusively uncovered for the anomalous goods, which have included weaponry, decor, agricultural technology, religious iconography, and flora/fauna.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a well constructed from unidentified metals, with a diameter of 15m. SCP-XXXX-1 has collapsed in upon itself. Records documenting SCP-XXXX have suggested that SCP-XXXX-1 had at one point produced an anomalous substance, henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 was alleged to have been able to produce an unlimited number of anomalies, or instill anomalous properties into an object; however, the capabilities of SCP-XXXX-2 were often underestimated by inhabitants of SCP-XXXX and those whom traded for objects produced by SCP-XXXX-1, as suggested by Documents 01-0X. SCP-XXXX-1 has been classified as neutralized, as its capabilities of producing SCP-XXXX-2 have been rendered inactive. (See Addendum-XX)

SCP-XXXX-2 is assumed to be responsible for 89% of anomalies created prior to the year 36 BCE. However, the majority of anomalies produced by SCP-XXXX-2 have become ingrained into the cultural mythology of a vast number of civilizations, and as such have been rendered unable to be fully contained due to widespread popular knowledge of the anomalies, and unknown extent of their geographical spread.

The following documents have been translated from the inceptive language of SCP-4000 using various trade receipts and tax records that had been transcribed in Latin, the Phonetic alphabet, and Nahuatl. Few recovered documents have been recorded in this language, and it is hypothesized that the people of SCP-4000 eventually graduated to both written and spoken Latin.
