Sunlight streamed onto the mahogany desk, filtering through the glass of water resting on the desk, and reflecting from the number of fancy pens placed haphazardly into a mug commemorating the old Site-19 Gala. O5-8 twidled his thumbs, looking out the window into the farms and mountains surrounding the Australian landscape. Carriage upon carriage chugged through it, bending and crossing bridges. I should get some work done., You think. You look at the clock on the wall. 2 hours until you arrive at 102. And you open your laptop.

Subject: SCP-001
The SCP-001 file is a subject of great speculation. All of you have been exposed to a variety of proposals for a variety of reasons, but even you would have been unaware of the true SCP-001. As new members of the O5 Council, this will change.
Contact me ASAP for more information.
And at once your boredom becomes intrigued. The true SCP-001? Who wouldn't want to know that? You pick up a phone, dialling the secure line. The voice on the other side speaks.
"Ahh … eight! Good to see you. Is this about 001?"
"Yeah, in short. Train rides are boring … I'm sure you understand."
"I do. But I've seen worse. Anyway, I'll send you a link."
And then a second email comes through. It's labelled as "Dr Golls Proposal". You recognise the name, a member of some classified proposal operating out of your site. You remember asking O5-8 what the project was, saying again and again that you cant be safe controlling a site where there's stuff even you don't know about. Shame what happened to her - she died, a few months ago, and that's why you're here. O5-1 won't tell you any more than that. You're sure you could find out if you tried hard enough. Strange how 12 of the most protected people in the world can just die, suddenly, like that.

"The article of the true SCP-001 is unfinished?" You ask.
"Well, technically, yes" he pauses. "Yes and no. I'll explain that later. Input your credentials. If the team is competent enough - which they are - they should work for any Level 6 classified document." You follow his instructions.
"Does the Black Moon Howl?" the computer asks.
"Only when the wolves are hungry." You reply. You hear a satisfying little click.
Welcome, O5-8
First meeting of the Malta Commission, Schultz Estate, near Arkham, Massachusets.
Special Containment Procedures: Design of special containment procedures are ongoing. Several containment measures have been devised, and are currently being rigorously tested for the best emotional response.
Emotional Response? I can see an article being unfinished, but why design 001's document for emotional response instead of effective containment?
SCP-001-α
Description: SCP-001 is a massive entity residing under the Maltese Archipelago (SCP-001-α).
The nature of SCP-001's residence within SCP-001-α is uncertain. 100% of individuals exposed to SCP-001 following procedure 001-WREN have claimed that the entity is located below SCP-001-α. SCP-001 is believed to reside within a massive lithospheric void of unknown size, though the existence of this void has been disputed by observers.
SCP-001 size is unknown, being estimated as anywhere between 10cm and 40km tall. It is universally reported to be embedded, partially infused, or trapped within the Maltese limestone. SCP-001 has been described variously as several different objects, namely:
- A large avian entity covered in thick black oil.
- An expansive prison complex guarded by winged humanoids, with 7 large towers extending from it
- The severed head and hands of Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre.
- An expansive abandoned coal mine which digests those who enter.
- A sheet of semi-transluscent glass with a small humanoid blur visible through it.
- 7 chains extending into a pit
- The corpses of a division of the French Forces of the Interior, all killed from blood loss from the sudden removal of hands.
- The severed hand of every member of the O5 council.
