Special containment procedures: SCP-5942 is to be held in a 14x14x16 meter steel-reinforced concrete containment cell. Said containment chamber must not have any flammable substances or objects brought within, including normal clothing. All personnel that are required to enter the cell must wear powerful fire retardant clothing and avoid physical contact with SCP-5942 as much as possible. Powerful water sprinklers must be maintained and ready to activate at a moment's notice. The cell must be kept below 70 degrees Fahrenheit at all times and vents must be active to filter out noxious gas from the containment cell emitted by SCP-5942. The cell must be kept clear of any magma that falls out of SCP-5942 and should be cleaned on a biweekly basis. In the event of a containment breach, on-site sprinkler systems will be activated to induce a comatose state in SCP-5942.
Description: SCP-5942 is a juvenile humanoid that constantly emits dangerous gases and high levels of heat. It stands at 1.3 meters in height and has the bodily proportions of a nine-year-old human boy. Its skin is made of a smoothed homogeneous mixture of igneous minerals. These minerals include high concentrations of andesite, rhyolite, and basalt. Said skin can reach heat up to ████ degrees Fahrenheit. Fissures in the rock making up its skin will occasionally cause small droplets of molten magma to fall to the floor or subtle bursts of fire to erupt spontaneously. Its eyes are molten spheres of iron with no discernable ocular features.
SCP-5942 appears to have the organs and musculature of a human boy, but all its internal structures have molten lava in place of organic body tissues. How these organs retain structure and shape is unknown. Black, hair-like tissue grows from the scalp of SCP-5942, which has been observed to be thin strands of black sapphire. SCP-5942 wears no clothes aside from a pair of charred shorts that covers its lower body.
SCP-5942 has been observed to be sentient due to it interacting with Site Personnel with simple, yet coherent words and sentences. It presents itself as a playful individual to all Site Personnel that it has spoken to. SCP-5942 attempts to engage in simple conversation with staff members that enter its containment cell. SCP-5942 often attempts to coerce staff members that it sees to allow it to go outside containment. When they deny this request, SCP-5942 will enter a negative emotional state in which it refuses to speak to any personnel coming into the cell. More flames and magma appear to form in the external fissures while SCP-5942 is in this state.
SCP-5942 consumes no organic matter and does not require nourishment to remain healthy. However, it does often request medium to large servings of various minerals. Said requests may or may not be granted depending on what is requested. When SCP-5942 ingests a large number of stones, it will begin to grow in height, retaining the proportions it had beforehand. The upper limit of this growth has reached ████ meters, at which point large amounts of excess magma will begin to leak from the fissures in its skin. Over time, SCP-5942 will revert to its original size of 1.3 meters. This process can be sped up with exposure to liquid water, however it causes SCP-5942 a great deal of pain. This method shouldn't be employed unless necessary. If SCP-5942 is completely submerged in water, it will cease motor functions and remain motionless until an external source of fire or high heat touches its skin.
