POODLE

Photo of SCP-XXXX, taken by blindfolded D-class Personnel1

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The object has had its "eyes" obscured with electrical tape, and is kept in a standard anomalous object containment unit at Site-03's Center of Artifact Studies (CAS).

Description: SCP-XXXX is a porcelain figurine resembling a white poodle carrying a golden pail of pink roses. An insignia on the bottom of the figurine reads; "ROYAL COPENHAGEN DENMARK 26/38 ODENSE SLOT", indicating that it is authentic collectible porcelain.

When a human subject looks directly into one of the eyes of the object, the orientation of the subject's eyes will be affixed by an unknown force in such a manner, that they permanently point/look in the direction of the eyes of the object, forcibly locking the subject in eye contact with the object; so far, any attempt by the subject to break free, either using their optical muscles or by attempting to look away, has ultimately resulted in blindness.

To further elaborate; if the affected subject turns around far enough while affected, they would inadvertently mangle their optical muscles from twisting the eyeballs too far. It should be noted, that only the orientation and not the position of the subject's eyeballs are affected; This effect can only be reverted if both optical nerves are severed.

The object was discovered in the trunk of a station wagon in the Faroe Islands after local authorities received a report of an elderly man who claimed he had been blinded by a demon.
The Foundation was quick to take notice and intercepted the situation. Agent Landsness, who was responsible for investigating the situation along with Agent Kisby, was initially affected by the object but was quick to obscure the object's "head" before it could be safely retrieved by Agent Kisby. During the brief turmoil, the elderly man panicked and jumped off a nearby cliff, before Foundation agents were able to detain him.
After being declared dead, his corpse was retrieved and was brought back to the Foundation for an autopsy. His eyes had suffered severe extraocular muscle contusions and fractures, and his optical nerves were torn off and entangled around his eyeballs, which were still in their sockets.
