Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 15 by 15 meter enclosure with 2 meter thick walls and roof with bright color changing lights. In this enclosure there are various plants and small soft bodied insects for SCP-XXXX to eat. To simulate dawn and dusk the lights are to be dimmed and turned pink and slowly become more orange then yellow then finally white until dusk where the reverse must happen. Every 2 years a female Eastern eyed click beetle is to be put into the enclosure. After 96 hours have passed a group of 10 D-Class personnel are to be sent into the enclosure to confirm that both SCP-XXXX and the female Eastern eyed click beetle have deceased at which point if they are confirmed dead the carcasses must be retrieved for testing. If either are still alive the D-Class are to leave the enclosure and another attempt is to be carried out in another 96 hours. This process is to be repeated until they are both confirmed dead. After the bodies are retrieved the eggs or larvae of SCP-XXXX and it’s mate are to be located at which point if they are still in an egg state they are to be monitored until they hatch at which point they are gathered and their sexes are to be identified. Any females are to be terminated and any males, of which there should only be one and if there are any more all but one are to be terminated, need to have a small tracking device attached to them and be released back into the enclosure.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of click beetle that looks identical to the Eastern eye click beetle. Like other click beetles it will headbutt the ground if it feels like it’s in danger to launch itself away but unlike other click beetles it can headbutt with enough force to tear the arm off of a toddler and leave a 2 foot diameter crater in the dirt. In its larval form it has slightly more durable exoskeleton which gardens as it gets older it’s exoskeleton hardens until it is indestructible. It has shown signs of negligible senescence after it has reached adulthood until it mates at which point it will die almost immediately after. As it ages it gets stronger so it is currently unknown how strong it can get. SCP-XXXX is able to create fertile offspring with the Eastern eye click beetle but it will only produce one male larva. If it breeds with another of its species it will be able to produce around 2-4 males. If any males are killed an amount of females equal to the number of males killed will become male and if they are already dead and they will come back to life if dead. If SCP-XXXX does not find a mate after 2 years of it’s birth it will begin to launch itself around in random directions until it can detect a female.
