Special Containment Procedures:
The anomaly is far from easy to contain, the cell must be coated with a thick layer of S-06 hourly, this substance prevents the anomaly from melting the walls and floor of the containment cell, anyone who is tasked with coating the cell must wear a Level B hazmat suit specially engineered by the Foundation to be resistant to the melting. The coating must be at least 5mm thick, S-06 is toxic to SCP-XXXX so if there's too much it may be lethal, if it's any lower it can get through, if any thicker than SCP-XXXX might show signs of distress and will therefore become violent. After the layer is added, the viscous substance secreted must be cleared up, for too much could over-power the layer of S-06.

The cell is absolutely covered with the thick, smog-like gas, rendering your eyes useless in locating the anomaly, so the cell is equipped with thermal cameras. Vents are put in place to try to lower the amount of smog, but it appears that the smog, if too far from this anomaly will become something similar to the viscous substance. SCP-XXXX can and will absorb bone from it's food and give the room a thick, hard shell which must be cleared off and disposed of, if the shell isn't disposed of, SCP-XXXX could use it as it makes the S-06 coating less useful, it also slowly corrodes the walls, all in the space of 1 hour.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is mostly comprised of a thick, viscous substance with harmful physical and mental effects when contact is made with the substance, the anomaly appears to be melting like a wax candle. The anomaly emits a thick, harmful gas similar to that of smog.
The substance, and smog, are noticeably shades of grey and black. SCP-XXXX has white, almost flashlight like, glowing eyes.

SCP-XXXX was found in a cave in Kentucky, the Foundation acquire a 25cm thick mobile transportation box, the box lasted just over 10 minutes,

General information
SCP-XXXX is hostile and erratic, it will kill anything or anyone if killing said thing will make an escape easier or faster.
The anomaly can melt through anything it pleases unless it is coated with S-06, S-06 is the unofficial name given to the matter found by the [REDACTED], we still aren't sure of any long-term effects.
The anomaly is blazing hot, at 205°C, and the heat radiates throughout the containment cell providing discomfort to those in the heavy and tight hazmat suits.
As it has absorbed some human brains, it can communicate in the same ways a human would.
It will attempt to attack anyone that enters, so personnel are advised to be ready to escape upon entering.
The anomaly feeds every 5 days, it must be given some form of meat, it favours human meat but it can do fine with a whole cow. It feeds by latching onto the host, seeping inside an orifice and it slowly absorbs organs while also burning it, it's usually dead about 10 seconds after it enters.
SCP-XXXX will collect the bones and the substance it secretes, and is comprised from, and will mix them together, it will absorb the bone and give the room a thick, hard shell which makes the S-06 coating much less useful

Normal activity:
In the cell, normal things occur such as:

  • Banging on doors even when nobody is present
  • Gurgling and human screaming originating from SCP-XXXX
  • Thick masses of the viscous substance hanging off walls and the ceiling

If any of this changes, it shall be reported immediately

Dangers of contact
Contact with the thick, viscous substance will induce severe seizures and hallucinations along with ghastly physical effects, such as third-degree burns and something likened to that of radiation poisoning, all personnel must wear Level B hazmat suits when performing anything from tests to minor repairs to avoid contact with the substance.
If the harmful, smog-like gas is inhaled, the subject will experience hallucinations and will feel a burning sensation in the lungs,
the second the subject inhales the smog, they have roughly 2 hours to live, the 2 hours left to live will be extremely painful, with most subjects asking to be euthanized (put down).
If you are in the general vicinity of the anomaly, approximately 100 inches by 100 inches, for longer than 1 hour, you will develop something like that of schizophrenia, the schizophrenic will be known as SCP-XXXX-1 and will attempt to assist SCP-XXXX in escaping, killing if necessary
