Item #: SCP-4607
Object class : Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4607 is stored in a small box, composed of birch wood. SCP-4607 is to remain in this box when not used during testing. Due to the possibility of D-Class using this to escape, only trained agents are permitted to experiment with SCP-4607. Two armed guards are to patrol the perimeter of the cell at any given time. Three infrared cameras are to be in constant observation of the cell at all times to capture potential breach attempts by anyone who opens SCP-4607.
Description: SCP-4607 is an ornate gold pocket watch with engravings of an unknown language. The object has no measurable weight and is described as “smoother than water”. In the watch, there is a variety of small gears, covered up by a standard 12-hour clock. The gears are made of a mildly radioactive metal that increases in radiation with the time the watch is opened. This process has no apparent limit, making testing with SCP-4607 to be very frustrating. When the watch is closed, the level of radiation will slowly dissipate within 10 minutes.
When the watch is opened, the user will immediately disappear from sight. During this state, The user and SCP-4607 are only visible in the infared spectrum. The user can not interact with any physical object, nor be harmed from any outside hazards. After approximately 5 minutes, the radiation levels will exceed the safe exposure of radiation for humans and start decaying the body. SCP-4607 will continue to radiate until it is closed. Radiation received will eventually dissipate over the course of 30 minutes.
