SCP: Abandoned Prison Visiting Area
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: The building containing SCP-XXXX has been purchased by the Foundation and converted into Site-XXXX. One security guard is to remain stationed at Site-XXXX at all times. As a result of the interview conducted on YYYY-MM-DD, no new subjects are to be introduced to SCP-XXXX without authorisation from Level 4 personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is the visiting room of ████████ Prison, located in the United Kingdom. The building has been abandoned since 2003, and has fallen into a state of mild disrepair. Its visiting room has a typical layout: the prisoners and visitors are separated by a sheet of reinforced glass and communicate through telephones mounted on the wall. There is a row of 15 fixed stools on either side of the partition.
SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties only manifest when the prisoners’ side of the room is unoccupied, the inner and outer doors of the prisoners’ entrance are closed, and a person (henceforth referred to as the subject) sits in the central stool on the visitors’ side. The outer door of the prisoner’s entrance will become inaccessible, and after 30-90 seconds the inner door will open. A duplicate of the subject (labelled SCP-XXXX-A) will walk out, escorted by two armed guards (labelled SCP-XXXX-B).
SCP-XXXX-A instances are visually indistinguishable from the subject aside from the standard grey prison uniform they wear. They claim to share the identity of the subject, and treat the subject with familiarity. SCP-XXXX-A instances share the subject’s memories, with the major exception being that each instance of SCP-XXXX-A claims to have committed a crime the subject has not. The crimes stated range from as mundane as littering to as severe as mass genocide, but regardless of the severity the SCP-XXXX-A instance will claim it is the reason for their incarceration.
SCP-XXXX-B instances wear armoured guard uniforms with masks that conceal their faces. It can not be ascertained if they are human, or if there is more than two of them. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-B carries an assault rifle of unknown make and function. SCP-XXXX-B instances ignore questions, only speaking to give orders.
During an SCP-XXXX event, the SCP-XXXX-B instances will take up positions in the corners facing the glass while the SCP-XXXX-A instance will sit down opposite the subject. SCP-XXXX-A instances prefer to converse with the subject, ignoring any other people unless their conversation is interrupted. At the end of a 30 minute period, the SCP-XXXX-B instances will announce that visiting time is over, and lead SCP-XXXX-A back through the inner entrance door, closing it behind them. This will end the SCP-XXXX event, allowing re-entry to the prisoner’s side of the visiting room. If either the subject or SCP-XXXX-A leave their seat, the SCP-XXXX-B instances will conclude the event immediately.
