Special Containment Procedures:
Access to room 245-A and SCP-XXXX is reserved for assigned research teams. Regular screening for changes within SCP-X is to be conducted at regular intervals. Direct colleagues of Dres. Greene may have access by prior appointment. (see Addendum-XXXX.4)
Flowers and mementos are no longer permitted to be placed in the corridors following order of the O5. A memorial has instead been placed next to the entrance to room 245-A as an appropriate tribute.
Description:
SCP is a space-time anomaly in Site-120, Room 245-A. Included in it are Dr. William Greene and his wife Dr. Martha Greene. The anomaly is believed to have occurred at 7:46 p.m. on March 23, 1967, and was discovered and immediately reported by janitor Fergus Sanchez upon arrival the next morning at what was then the Spacetime Density Laboratory. Whether there has been a standstill in the flow of time within the affected area or an extreme slowdown is not apparent at this time. If it is a slowdown, it is so strong that temporal changes in the anomaly are not measurable. According to observations, only matter - including the air inside the anomaly - is affected by SCP-XXXX, while waves are not.
The anomaly has the rough shape of a sphere with a radius of about 467 452 centimetres (see Incident XXXX-C) around a record player on a laboratory table. The Dres. Greene have been in a close dancing position since SCP-XXXX was formed. Noteworthy are unknown adjustments to the record player. Judging by the position of the pickup, the anomaly arose when the end of the record was reached. Based on his research in space-time density (see Addendum-XXXX.5), the intentional production of SCP-XXXX by Dr. W. Greene is suspected, but cannot be proven at present. Whether the effect of SCP-XXXX in its final form was intentional or not is unknown.

Audio/Visual Transcript
DATE: 23.03.1967 19:42:11
NOTE: The transmission from surveillance stopped at exactly 19:46:22. The recording has no audio track, which is why visible parts of the previous dialogue between Dr. W. Greene and Dr. M. Greene were transcribed by lip-reading. The following excerpt of the full transcript describes the last moments before the anomaly occurred. For ease of reading, Dr. William Greene is referred to as W. and Dr. Martha Greene as M.
[BEGIN LOG]
19:42:11: M is sitting on a chair with her back to the camera. W takes the record player and places it on the lab table next to M. He puts on the record Only You (And You Alone) by the music group The Platters, but does not play it yet.
19:42:34: W: Stop crying my darling. It's our wedding day.
19:42:39: M: not visible
19:42:44: W: Smiling / It won't, I promise.
19:42:46: M: not visible
19:42:52: W: Come here.
19:42:53: W grabs M's hand. M stands up.
19:42:56: Invisible conversation between M and W.
19:43:35: W turns on the record player.
19:43:40: W pulls M towards him and kisses her. They begin to dance.
19:44:01: M: not visible … to be happy again.
19:44:04: W: not visible
19:44:16: M smiles and rests her head on W's shoulder. M and W continue dancing in silence.
19:46:22: Video signal stops.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: An investigation as a result of the transcription revealed that March 23rd is not the wedding day of the Dres. Why Dr. W. Greene made this statement is unknown.
Addendum-XXXX.2: Incident XXXX-C, Ritual Report
RITUAL REPORT ID: Y233.1
Site-120
Dr. John Tran, Head of Rituals Division
Dr. Julian Harlowe, Psychological Assessments
Course of events:
On 04.07.1967 at 3:23 pm Dr. Zacharia King performed a variant of the ████████ ritual in Room 245-A, Site-120. This was preceded by using the special provision for direct colleagues of the Dres. Greene in the Containment Procedures of SCP. Accordingly, Dr. King had visiting rights to room 245-A for the period between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Within this time Dr King remained unsupervised and performed the ritual ████████ with some adjustments. (See Ritual Details) Where he obtained the ██████ he needed for the ritual and how he was able to infiltrate them into Site-120 is unknown.
The partial performance of the ritual resulted in minor to moderate damage to walls and supporting structures throughout Tract C, as well as parts of Tract D and Tract ⥈. As a result of the impact, Dr. King was escorted out of room 245-A by Mr. Kowalsky, who fortunately interrupted the further performance and prevented worse consequences. In the follow-up, a reduction in the diameter of SCP of about 15 cm was noted, as well as a change in the direction of gaze on the part of Dr. William Greene.
Ritual Details:
[REDACTED]
Recommendation for action:
The irresponsible actions on the part of Dr. King are inexcusable. Rituals of the █████ class are dangerous and involve unjustifiable sacrifice. I will leave the decision on how to proceed in this regard to the Ethics Committee and the Overseer Council. However, I strongly oppose to further working with Dr. King.
- Dr. J. Tran
In consideration of the personal bond between Dr. King and the Dres. Greene, liquidation is not recommended. Instead, I recommend amnestication for all personal acquaintances within the Foundation except those on a need to know basis to avoid similar incidents in the future. Paragraph 4 of the Containment Procedures should be removed. Furthermore, a reclassification of SCP to Level 4 is proposed to avoid unnecessary emotional distress for those affected in lower levels of clearance.
- Dr. J. Harlowe
Mr. Kowalsky is hereby proposed for the Order of Merit for special services for the protection of the Foundation. The official application for this follows.

INTERVIEWED: Dr. Zacharia King
INTERVIEWER: Dr. Julian Harlowe
FOREWORD: Dr. King was questioned about the events three hours after incident X.
[BEGIN LOG]
HARLOWE: Good evening, Dr. King.
KING: Good evening.
HARLOWE: Would you like to tell me what happened earlier.
KING: I was trying to save my friends. That's all.
HARLOWE: So William and Martha were your friends?
KING: I just told you.
HARLOWE: Alright. You've been part of the Rituals Division for … eight years if I'm reading this correctly?
KING: Yes.
HARLOWE: And since the incident you have…
KING: Since you left them in there?
HARLOWE: … since the incident on 23rd of March. No, since a week after that. You've been on vacation?
KING: I was working.
HARLOWE: On what, if you don't mind me asking?.
KING: A solution.
HARLOWE: What did this solution look like?
KING: I've been working for the Foundation for years. I've always been loyal and so were they! But those cold-hearted assholes decided not to try anything else. I found my own solution.
HARLOWE: In the form of a ritual?
KING: Yes, I work with what I have! And if that overzealous caretaker hadn't interrupted me they would be safe now!
HARLOWE: Mr. Kowalsky is part of the security service.
KING: Fine by me.
HARLOWE: Would you explain to me how your ritual works? What was it supposed to do?
KING: That would be over your head. But it was supposed to get them out of there. And it worked.
HARLOWE: To my knowledge nothing happened except that you damaged large parts of the site and injured 12 people.
KING: I underestimated William's construct.
HARLOWE: His… construct?
KING: Yes, the bubble.
HARLOWE: Do you know what that 'bubble' is all about?
KING: No. He just kept talking about how he had found a solution. That he could save Martha.
HARLOWE: Save her? From what?
KING: She had cancer. All over.
HARLOWE: I didn't know that.
KING: I told everyone at the time. Look at his research. Spacetime density. He even made a proposal on that once.
HARLOWE: I'll bring that up.
KING: Do that! And let me continue my ritual.
HARLOWE: Why? It didn't work.
KING: Yes it did. He looked at me.
Dr. King begins to cry.
HARLOWE: William? He looked at you?
KING: Why don't you go and see for yourself? He's stuck again, but now he's looking where I was standing.
HARLOWE: We'll check that.
KING: I think I damaged the bubble. Or at least worked on it. If you let me keep working on the ritual, I can fix the mistakes. I can get them out of there. And keep the side effects to a minimum.
HARLOWE: I recommend that you calm down first. Then we'll see.
Dr. King looks desperate.
HARLOWE: You will hear from me. Thank you Zacharia.
[END LOG]
FIRST IMPRESSION: Dr. King seems very upset. He obviously does not agree with the Foundation's approach to SCP and is grieving for his friends. Further evaluation on how to deal with him will be necessary.
Addendum-XXXX.4: Mesaurements following incident XXXX-C
ETHICS COMMITTEE RULING
With regard to the events of 04.07.1967 concerning SCP, a number of decisions have been made which required assessments on our part. Due to the special circumstances, personal involvement is unavoidable. This is reflected in this special Ruling.
The loss and condition of the Dres. Greene affects us all. William and Martha were very highly valued members of the Foundation. They were explorers, they were protectors, but most of all they were part of our team. A team that exists despite all the coldness we have to face due to our job. They stood as revolutionaries for all that the Foundation embodies and more. To do justice to this, paragraph 4 of SCP's Containment Procedures was formulated. Unfortunately, this personal weakness of ours was exploited by someone in our own ranks. It shows that we too are fallible. And perhaps it shows that the Foundation and we need to move in an even more detached direction.
In response to Dr. King's actions, the decision was made to liquidate Dr. King, despite Dr. Harlowe's explicit recommendation against it. We cannot agree with this. Dr. King's actions are to be condemned and require action. However, grief is not to be underestimated as a force that robs us of our freedom of action. The motion to liquidate Dr. King is therefore halted. We recommend instead that Dr. Trans' wishes be honoured and that he refrain from further employment. Should further employment be considered, psychological treatment is recommended. In each of these cases, the Ethics Committee hereby expresses its approval.
In order to prevent further incidents of this nature, it has also been decided to amnesticise all personal contacts of the Dres. Greene within the Foundation. This measure is not supported. Although it is preventive, it goes too far considering other effective measures. This concerns the third decision after the adaptation of SCPs Containment Procedures. Paragraph 4 was drafted with good intentions. It is hereby removed.
Lastly, there is the question of further work on Dr. King's ritual, which was left to the discretion of the Ethics Committee. The results achieved by Dr. King's attempt are disproportionate to its side effects. The previous decision to stop the rescue attempts was based on the assumption that the Dres. Greene were in all probability dead. Dr. W. Greene's reaction to Dr. King's ritual suggests that this is false. At the same time, it raises questions about the Greene's state of consciousness. Still, as much as we would like to change this situation, continuing to work on Dr. King's ritual seems too risky. The option of evacuating Site-120 has been declared financially unsustainable in discussion with the Overseer Council. Accordingly, continuation of rescue efforts is rejected.
As a consequence of the decisions made in this series of meetings, committee members J. Cox, W. Anderson, M. Garcia and L. Nelson resign with immediate effect.

Addendum-XXXX.5: Note on unit proposal #0422
Spacetime density was a unit of measurement for determining the spacetime properties of dimensions. It was defined by Dr. William Greene in 1966, but never actively used due to lack of applicability. It was followed by the more well-founded Hume, which is applied in a similar way. However, Dr Greene's research is to be acknowledged as the basis for the Hume. Further research in the field of spacetime density was deemed irrelevant by the O5 Council after the ████ ██ ████ █ ████ and discontinued.
