Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are to be contained within a standard 0.5 meter steel cube storage locker within Site-██. Containment teams are required to check the lock regularly throughout the week and ensure the presence of the objects within the locker. SCP-XXXX-3 is to be contained in the middle of a 6 meter containment cell with markings on the floor indicating the proximity to the machine. SCP-XXXX-3 is to be provided with a 200W electrical outlet that can be controlled remotely.

Description: All Instances of SCP-XXXX SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 are standard United States Quarters dated from 2010 with visible signs of excelled corrosion. If the coin is flipped, human subjects that have actively vocalized an intention dependant on the result of the coin will experience said effect in the event the coin flip results in the specified outcome. Without spoken intention, the coins have resulted in seemly random effects. Due to the random effects of the coins, all unauthorized personnel are forbidden to physically interact with the coins in any way.
Originally a usual instance of the coin-like SCP-XXXX before being placed within SCP-914 (See Test A), SCP-XXXX-3 is an ██████-brand fortune teller arcade machine that measures at approximately 1m*1m*3m. SCP-XXXX-3 will begin to print a fortune for any human subject within a 2 meter radius from the base of the machine. All fortunes to date have been unique in nature and seem to predict the status of the subject with an elapsed time of 10 years. Human subjects that ask the machine a question or request an action will be prompted to insert about $0.75 cents worth of USD into the provided slot before pressing a button. All questions and requests, as of the writing of this article, have been truthful (See Test Log 2). Once the button is pushed, the machine will dispense a blank paper slip a piece of paper before seemingly losing power. Loss in power for the machine, despite all attempts by containment personnel, has remained constant and has lasted between the range of 3 hours to 6 years.
All testing concerning the usage of instances of SCP-XXXX has been forbidden under the assumption that SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 can randomly caused and SCP-XXXX-3 can be requested to cause an XK-Class scenario.

Test A - Termination via SCP-914

Subject: Following request from Site Administration after Incident-███ on 5/25/████, the ordered removal of all extraneous instances of SCP-XXXX has began to be carried out
Procedure: SCP-XXXX-3 was removed from the locker and transported to SCP-914. Placing the coin in the machine under the Rough setting appeared to have no effect on the coin. Under the instruction of Dr.Obi, the coin was placed under the Ultra-Fine setting.
Results: Once the coin exited the machine an arcade machine seemed to have replaced the coin and began to start printing fortunes for each of the members within the immediate testing range. (See Incident Report ████-XXXX)
Analysis: Further experimentation with SCP-914 and SCP-XXXX has been barred to prevent the formation of other controlled instances. Further testing with SCP-XXXX-3 has been barred permitted.

Interviewer: "Please state your name and your title within the facility"

Dr.Obi: "Dr.Obi, Assistant Site Management."

Interviewer: "To the best of your ability, please recall all events that pertain to Test-A-XXXX"

Dr.Obi: "A few of the researchers from Site-██ were tasked with the removal of the coins and thought it would be a good… experience… to attempt to use SCP-914. With my permission, researchers placed SCP-XXXX-3 in a secure transport box and, under guard from MTF, took the coin to Site-██. We placed it within the machine… erm, 914…. and placed the setting on Rough. Everything had good intentions. After the coin seemed to have nothing change, I decided to order the setting to Ultra-Fine. The coin disappeared and that machine came out. After a few minutes of panic within the testing chamber and a collection of paper on the floor, the machine stopped and powered down."

Interviewer: "Can you please explain where the machine was plugged into?"

Dr.Obi: "The machine didn't appear to be plugged into any form of electrical outlet."

Interviewer: "Understood. Did anyone happen to take the papers that came from SCP-XXXX-3?"

Dr.Obi: "Yes. I instructed a nearby containment team to take the papers back to Site-██ for further testing."

Interviewer: "Did anyone on your team happen to read one of the papers?"

Dr.Obi: "I specifically instructed no-one to read the papers. We didn't know what kind of affects they could have on the researchers."

Interview: "After some research at Site-██, we have come to the conclusion that these papers have no anomalous affects. If you could-"

<The interviewer pulls out a manilla envelope containing approximately 5 different papers from SCP-XXXX-3.>

Interviewer: "-view each of these papers and tell me what is displayed."

<Dr.Obi appears to open the envelope and read through each of the papers while his face changes to a look of confusion.>

Dr.Obi: "I don't understand to be completely honest ██████, all of these papers appear to be blank."

Interviewer: "Noted. Please remove the last paper from the envelope."

<Dr.Obi removed the last paper and immediately becomes distressed. He stands quickly from the table before On-site MTF are able to contain him back into his seat. Interviewer seems to become distressed from the sudden outburst by Dr. Obi. >

Interviewer: "I understand that something may have caused you distress, but your actions during this interview cannot be continued at this time. Guards, please escort the doctor back to his quarters until this interview can be continued at a later date."

Closing Statement: Following the events of this interview, Dr.Obi was found in his allotted chamber dead by purposefully activating the in-chamber pacification gas to dangerous levels.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-Avagadro is to be contained within Site-██ at the lowest level of the facility (i.e. 8 kilometers underground). The top of the containment room is to have a minimum of 2 kilometers of space before encountering any other rooms or electronic devices. Any and all electrical devices are to be left outside of secondary containment.

SCP-AVAGADRO IN THE PROCESS OF BEING RECONTAINED AT SITE-██)

Primary containment consists of three negatively-charged electromagnetic poles with built in Tesla Gate™ capability spaced out 2.5 meters triangularly. Within one of the poles, a wire solely connected to recontainment services is to be left exposed and hanging slightly outside of primary containment. Secondary containment places primary containment in a non-conductive (currently glass with concrete flooring) 10x10x10 meter cube. In the event of a storm within a 5 kilometer radius, primary containment is to enter "Lockdown" and the in-chamber Tesla Gates™ activated remotely for the duration of the storm or until the storm exits the radius.
If the entity is within the facility, recontainment can be achieved by locating the entity, bating a shock, and placing an electric rod connected to a Class-C electro-hazard battery in the path of fire.
If the entity has left the facility, recontainment can be achieved by capturing SCP-Avagadro with a lightning rod connected to a Class-C electro-hazard battery or, in the event of an escape, a lightning rod connected directly to recontainment services. After recontained, the battery can be inserted into the deadwire to remanifest the entity within primary containment and the negative charge reactivated when the entity enters the area.
Currently, SCP-Avagadro containment is deemed to be ineffective. Electric storms seem to target the facility and, despite having minimal equipment on the surface level and no equiptment leading directly to the containment of SCP-Avagadro, blackouts are common within the containment of the entity. In some instances, storms have specifically targeted the entity, leaving it the only room in the facility without power. In the event of a heavily electrically charged storm, MTF-Alpha-77 ("Crux Ablation") is to be mobilized to the site regardless of containment status to begin recontainment procedures and to control/facilitate on-site testing.

Description: SCP-Avagadro is a clear, humanoid figure measuring 1.75 meters in height. The entity remains entirely invisible aside from a white-glowing orb placed in the assumed skull. Frequently, the orb will disperse a large amount of energy, seen as a lightning bolt, through the entity's "body", allowing the entity to be seen in short bursts of light from within. Without the presence of conductive material, the lightning seems to be contained within the figure. When in the presence of conductive material, however, the entity is able to fire a burst of electricity from any portion of its "body" to the material.
SCP-Avagadro is capable of entering conductive materials and exert shocks. While studies regarding the sentience of the being have been inconclusive, the entity seems to be able to choose to enter/exit the object or inflict a shock of an estimated 500,000,000 volts. While entering an object, the orb located within the "head" of the entity will fade until dissipated. After entering an object, the entity will be able to control electronic functions within the object and will raise the temperature of the object. The entity can then exit the material at its own discretion or until the conductive material begins to melt, whereas it will exit the material with a similar process to the its entrance and remanifest. It is currently unknown if SCP-Avagadro is able to do the process with biological creatures. SCP-Avagadro can also proceed the process with biological entities See Addendum AVAGADRO-1.
After escaping, the entity will attempt to reach any skylight-accessable area via physical roaming or routing through conductive material. Once an area is compatible is met, the entity will then disperse an energy bolt into the sky.
Once the entity has bolted into the sky, recontainment via on-ground personnel is impossible and the entity must choose to strike a viable electrical rod. In most instances, the entity will avoid striking before creating or proceed to a local storm. All instances of the entity escaping have led to the storm becoming severe, creating tornados, creating hurricanes, or persisting for prolonged periods of time.

Addendum: AVAGADRO-1 SCP-Avagadro has also been observed to enter the bodies of animals (See Test Log) and, due to Incident-AVAGADRO-2, humans. While using the same process as it may use to enter an object, SCP-Avagadro has not yet been seen to kill an animal/human it possesses. After entering a biological host, the only indicating factor of possession seems to be small bursts of light coming from exposed veins of an entity at variable times. While possessed by the entity, subjects will avoid speaking and will attempt to reach skylight-accessible areas. While speaking is avoided, subjects appear to retain all prior knowledge and can speak if absolutely necessary. When exiting a creature, the entity will invariably premanifest and attempt to kill its host before proceeding. The entity can also be drawn out of a biological creature, however, by indicating a possessed person and applying a small shock to the wrist.

Active Research Logs:

+ Initial Retrieval

Foundation administration became aware of SCP-Avagadro following the heavily-exceeded timespan of a large storm covering the majority of the United States West Coast. On-ground foundation personnel within the area of the storm were then alerted to a large amount of lightning within the clouds appearing over a very small zone in the upper atmosphere. While not evidence enough to warrant SCP investigation, operatives were contacted after the storm struck a NOAA site within the area for an estimated 5 minutes straight with lightning strikes recorded to last as long as 7 seconds per bolt. MTF was then mobilized towards the site whereas, upon arrival, the storm had begun to subside and they were greeted with a phone on the ground beginning to overheat. Initially containing the device for other reasons, SCP-Avagadro was suspected of being within the device when it arrived at Evidence Room 544C.
After the phone melted, SCP-Avagadro entered a wire within the facility and tripped various different sensors within the facility, leading to the activation of all on-site Tesla Gates™, killing 5 personnel. The gates, however, manifested the creature in Gate-5H, a small portion of the facility guarded by Tesla Gates™ on all exits and with no exposed wiring. After approximately 8 minutes, the entity beamed into the roof of the area and left the facility. It was later recaptured 5 days later using the information gained during its initial "containment".

+ Object/Biological Test Log

█████-brand Christmas Lights	SCP-Avagadro attempted and succeeded on entering the lights. After its possession, the lights flickered for a brief moment before each light lit up sequentially (indicating movement). After a few minutes of sequential movement throughout the cord, one of the lights exploded and the fuse on the cord burnt.	After the fuse failed, the entity manifested within primary containment. Cord retrieved by D-Class Personnel during Incident-AVAGADRO-1
Biological Rat	SCP-Avagadro attempted and succeeded on entering the rat. The rat proceeded towards the edge of primary containment when the in-chamber Tesla Gate™ was activated, expelling the entity into primary containment and, despite predictions, keeping the rat alive.	After the rat left primary containment, it paused and SCP-Avagadro was able to send a bolt towards the rat, killing it upon impact.

+ Incident Reports

Incident-AVAGADRO-2 - August 21st, 2005

Pre-Breach: Concluded to be a result of containment negligence, D-6597 was instructed to clean Secondary containment. Initially deemed safe, a nearby electrical storm began surging over the facility and, after a 0.25 second blackout within the containment, power to the electromagnetic poles was disrupted, allowing the creature to move freely.

Breach: After the temporary loss of power, SCP-Avagadro possessed D-6597 and attempted to exit secondary containment. On-Site Task Forces, after attempting to stop the entity, were shocked and killed. D-6597 moved throughout the facility, shocking the vast majority of site personnel within the area. Dr.█████ while on route to facilities, encountered D-6597 and, assumingly while the SCP adjusted to fire, threw his phone at the entity, trapping it within the device. While temporary containing the entity, after 5 minutes the entity reappeared, killing Dr.█████. D-6597 then aquired Dr.█████'s keycard and exited the main area of the facility before leaving D-6597's body. D-6597 attempted to run from the creature and was shocked and killed before SCP-Avogadro escaped into the clouds overhead.

Retrieval: Following this incident, MTF was mobilized to follow the storm. Noticing electrical hops from cloud to cloud towards the South-East coast, MTF alerted other branches within the Miami area. Locating the creature to be off-coast, foundation personnel dispelled a public campaign using European modeling to show a tropical storm heading towards the coast. After a few days, category 4 hurricane made landfall on the south-east coast of the United States. Following the dispersal of the hurricane, SCP-Avoagadro was found to be contained within a foundation-planted recontainment battery in █████, Florida.

Analysis:Following the revelations from its breach, new procedures were implemented to prevent blackouts within the containment site. Site Management has also petitioned for permanent containment within Class-C electro-hazard but, after studies were deemed to be necessary, were denied.
