Eccho Snail

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is kept in a Large terrarium allowing for ease of movement and surveilance. SCP-XXXX is to be kept in optimal conditions at all times to promote production of SCP-XXXX-A. These conditions include maintaining a 70-75% humidity level and playing classical music through a large speaker disguised as a tree stump. It is not known at this time why this increases the productivity of SCP-XXXX, but protocol must be maintained to not cause an excess of variables that may decrease production of SCP-XXXX-A.
If any instances of SCP-XXXX-A are discovered within the enclosure they are to be harvested immediately.

Under no circumstances are more than two pods allowed to remain within SCP-XXXX’s enclosure for any period longer than two days.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an extremely large Gastropod closely resembling the *Achatina achatina* species of giant African snails. SCP-XXXX's size is relatively similar to that of a family SUV. SCP-XXXX was discovered in the northern region of Africa approximately ██ Years ago. After SCP-XXXX experiences large amounts of affection it releases a large pod about the size of a fully grown Labrador Retriever. These pods have been dubbed SCP-XXXX-A. After approximately five days the pods open to reveal a large amount of compound L79-P which personnel have taken to calling “snail sludge.” When consumed compound L79-P allows the consumer to perceive the thoughts and memories of those who have perished within a 20M radius as well as seeing an effigy of people who died in particularly gruesome ways. SCP-XXXX-A’s anomalous properties could allow for the information that is lost in studies to be recovered with reasonable accuracy. The side effects of compound L79-P worsen after repeat usage of the compound and vary from subject to subject.

Addendum I
Interview XXXX-1

Interviewed: D-901923 under the influence of L79-P

Interviewer: Dr. A

Foreword: The following is an interview of D-901923 who has been issued a 20cc dosage of compound L79-P in an attempt to observe the extent of the effects before further study is mandated. Interview room ██ has been selected specifically due to its history and significant studies that have gone awry. D-901923 has not been made aware of the effects of compound L79-P to remove any possible "placebo" factors from the experiment. Two security personnel stand watch on either side of the door in standard D-Class Interview and Anomalous trial procedure.

Dr. A: Thank you for participating in this interview.
D-901923: No problem. I don't really have much of a choice.
D-901923 begins to laugh nervously
Dr. A: Is there something wrong?
D-901923: I-i'm sure its nothing.
Dr. A scribbles in his notes for a few moments.
Dr. A: How are you feeling today Mr. ███████?
D-901923 My stomach hurts
At this point Dr. A notes a glossy look in the eyes of D-901923
Dr. A: I am sure it is just nerves.
D-901923: Yeah…
D-901923 stares into the space to the right of Dr. A's head. Dr. A turns to face the direction in which subject D-901923 is looking.
Dr. A: What are you staring there for?
D-901923 does not break their gaze as they stand causing both security personnel to raise their weapons. Dr. A motions for them to wait. They watch as D-901923 begins to walk to the point in the room that had drawn their gaze.
D-901923: Why are you crying?
Dr.A: Who is crying?
D-901923: A small girl.
Subject turns to Dr. A
D-901923: What happened here?
Dr. A: Why don't you tell me?
D-901923 falls silent still staring at Dr. A. There is a small glint in his eyes noted by Dr. A before the subject resumes speaking.
D-901923: On ████████ ██ ████ There was an interview on a young girl to see the effects of SCP-████. She asked for help. All they did was watch her writhe in pain as her ████ began to ████, and her chest ███████████. She died and all they did was write in their notes.
D-901923 begins to bleed from his nose.
D-901923: How could they……
D-901923 collapses onto the floor. Dr. A calls a paramedic into the room and D-901923 is brought to the infirmary. Cause of death was [REDACTED]
<End Log, [█/█/2018 8:00AM]>

Closing Statement: After biopsy confirmed the cause of death I could not help but think of what went wrong here. I look forward to further tests using compound L79-P on personnel, and other anomalies. It would be in the best interest of all involved if we were to resume testing with a smaller dosage of L79-P. 10cc or lower perhaps. At least until we know what we are dealing with.

ADDENDUM 2

Dr.A’s Private Journal After many hours of digging through records I have discovered something strange. There are no records of anyone being ████ in interview room ██ on the date given by the Subject. There are also no test records of SCP-████ with a female D-class. I will have to bring this up with my superiors. I suspect we may have come across a resource like no other.
