SCP-XXXX - RECOVERY - 1972

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a medium sized
vacuum chamber, inside a sealed airtight container, which is connected to the facility
through airlock room. When the personnel is going to experiment with the item SCP-XXXX
for own safety, must wear hermetic suit upon entering the object's container.

Description: Moved to Site-██ in 1973. Initially captured in ████████ Russia, after
a devastating gas explosion incident. It is a large jam jar.
SCP-XXXX has a rough surface, despite that object remains translucent. The material from which the item is constructed remains unknown.
Insides of the SCP-XXXX are covered in biological substance¹.

When an item is placed inside SCP-XXXX, it quickly starts to decompose breakdown at atomic
level². Said item slowly stops decaying after SCP-XXXX is sealed witch SCP-XXXX.
Upon reopening, a small gas leak can be heard³ and the decay continues.

1. First tests after recovery have found the substance origin to be remains of a small rodent.

2. Tests conducted at █████ Science Institute 2001.12.06 have resulted in detection of alpha, beta and gamma radiation emitting from inside of the SCP-XXXX, when left unsealed. Intecity of emission depends on the atomic properties of the mater inserted.

3. When the object is sealed, gas builds up inside when a living organism has been inserted, upon reopening a smell of decomposing body can be felt.
