Item #: SCP-5958 Fate

Object Class: Keter (Formerly Safe Class)

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5958 is to be kept in a 7 x 7 x 7 yard copper-plated containment cell. This SCP is only allowed a bottle of red ink and parchment, a living brown bat, an ankh, a caduceus, a branch from a blood oak tree, and bones is to be provided.

Description: SCP-5958 is A 5 foot tall humanoid that is white in color (albino-like). They wear a baby blue dress-coat and pants with a black dress shirt with an orange bow-tie. In addition, when it was first captured it was carrying around an anomalous pocket watch (See SCP-5958-A for details). The subject can move rapidly if provoked or disturbed while engaged in an activity. It has been observed accelerating to speeds in excess of 765.8 mph. The entity is quite jovial and friendly with staff, when it is not otherwise occupied by another activity. It has even gone so far as to ask for the items listed above. It has on occasion asked for bones, which are not to be provided, to prevent a death circle event from occurring … again (See Incident Report Alpha1 for details). The entity had at one point asked to see SCP-049 (Request granted). Though we attempted to decipher the nature and context of the conversation between the entities, we were unsuccessful in our attempts to discern what they were speaking about. The interaction was terminated when SCP-5958 rendered SCP-049 unconscious through unknown means. SCP-049 had to be carried out of SCP-5958’s containment cell and it was noted that it had received significant damage to its mask and robe.

SCP-5958-A: An ornate silver pocket watch, which by all outward appearance is a normal watch, was found in the possession of SCP-5958 when he was contained. This watch has a distinctive interior that is not that of a normal pocket watch. Instead the face having twelve numbers it has six symbols with a single arm on the clock face, though there is evidence that there was once a second arm. The single remaining arm generally points straight up or straight down and never seems to point of its own volition to any specific symbol. The six symbols on the face are as follows: An Ankh is in the 10:30 spot; an image that seems to be the world tree Yggdrasil is at the 1:30 spot; a bat-like symbol is located at the 3:00 mark; a Triquetra is located at the 5:30 mark; then a Caduceus is placed at the 7:30 mark, with a death’s-head placed at 9:00. When the remaining watch hand has been turned to one of the death symbols on the watch face something fascinating happens. Any humans within the 5 to 10 foot vicinity of the pocket watch’s radius instantly experiences intense agony. Those human subjects that have been with 5 feet of the watch have died within 2 to 3 minutes even if the watch hand is allowed to point up or down again. Further, the watch’s radius of influence appears to expand the longer it is turned on. We have noted that with each half hour that the watch is actively pointing to a specific death symbol that the rate of its expanding influence increases by half a foot. What would happen with SCP-5958 holding the watch is as yet unknown.
When the hand has been pointed to one of the life symbols any injuries sustained by anything; including but not limited to walls, plants, animals, humans; are generally healed or strengthened to resist death or decay for a limited time, even after the watch is deactivated. What could happen when and if this device had both hands to point at both a life and death symbol at the same time is unknown. Further what would happen if both hands pointed to two death or life symbols? Would its influence multiply by some doubling of intensity? These answers are as yet unknown. We advise than at least one MTF team is assigned to look for anything that could work as a missing watch arm, as well as another team to guard the watch.

Incident Report Alpha1: The incident began when the entity, who at that particular time would respond positively to being called “Alpha,” asked for any kind of bones to be given to them. Some bones from a dog were provided. Alpha then fashioned a crude replica of its pocket watch from the bones, which it proceeded to swap with its real watch by some means. Once Alpha had the watch, which was active due to an attempt to use it to see if it was effective against another SCP, all the humans in the vicinity of its influence immediately began convulsing in pain. Alpha, now referred to as the entity, upon realizing that its watch was hurting them immediately flipped it to a position where it was no longer on one of the death symbols, and closed its cover. Immediately all the staff stopped convulsing. When researchers went to get the pocket watch from the entity, it gave the watch to them willingly and seemed to be gesturing in a way that implied some kind of apology.

Addendum1:This incident proves that the entity has the ability to switch a replica watch with the real watch no matter how far away it is from the watch. However, we believe that the new copper-lined walls of the containment cell will dampen this ability.

Addendum2: sample of the entity’s blood was take, Chemical consistency of the blood contain a compound of all known and unknown elements of periodic table, seemingly flipping between having none and all with no discernible pattern. Furthermore the blood seemed to contain small pieces of DNA from several SCPs,Which are listed Below.
