SCP-5038 docked at SCP-5038-A

Item #: SCP-5038

Object class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5038 is to be followed by no less than four (4) military grade speed boats at all times, one (1) near each corner of SCP-5038. Two (2) mounted machines guns on the stern of each speed boat manned by guards. One (1) large heavy cargo boat capable of moving at high speeds, ███ knots for an excessive amount of time. This boat is referred to as A1, speed boats referred to as B1, B2, B3, and B4. On board A1 is a large gas tank capable of holding ████ gallons of boat fuel. Two (2) small cranes on either side of A1 with a filing hose used to refuel B1-B4 when needed. Refueling of this tank and maintenance take place during docking at SCP-5038-A as well as exchange of security and personnel for each boat. Additional security boats must stay active along the route of SCP-5038 to keep it clear of all other boats.

Any testing or traveling to SCP-5038 must be approved by at least one (1) 05 member. Access to SCP-5038-1 and SCP-5038-2 is strictly prohibited unless granted by the 05 council. See Incident-2.

Description: SCP-5038 appears to be a medium sized cruise ship with the name The ████████ █████ painted on the starboard side. SCP-5038 begins at [REDACTED] otherwise known as SCP-5038-A, a small cruise ship port in ████████ ██████. SCP-5038 will pull out of port and begin moving at extreme speeds for a ship of its side and weight. SCP-5038 will increase speed until moving ██-███ knots. SCP-5038 will then following the path of [REDACTED] following this rout until it has reached back to SCP-5038-A. SCP-5038 completes this progress In ███ hours on average, and stays in port for twenty four (24) hours before departing again on its same path. SCP-5038 is capable of movement and docking, despite a lack of crew or fuel. Despite the ships speeds and size, SCP-5038 travels with relative ease and steadiness. Access to SCP-5038’s control room is still being attempted. The materials composing the walls of the control room are unknown and have proved impenetrable through various ways of entry, including interior and exterior windows. The same has proven so for the engine room or access to anything that would halt SCP-5038's progress. Several tests have been run to try and stop SCP-5038's progress but all tests have failed, See addendum-1.

SCP-5038 has thirteen (13) floors with each floor marked one through fourteen (1-14), with no marked floor six (6). Further inspection of SCP-5038 shows that the ship sixth (6) floor is marked as floor 7, however elevators on SCP-5038 have all 14 floor as destinations, including sixth (6) floor. Pressing of the sixth floor button causes the present elevator to completely vanish from SCP-5038 once the doors of said elevator have closed, taking any objects or personnel inside with it. This anomaly aboard all elevators aboard SCP-5038. Connection to any communication devices is terminated upon vanishing of elevator, but video surveillance is maintained. Inside of personnel inside elevators going to floor six (6) do not find any disturbance upon vanishing, but state that the ship apart to start to sway. Sixth (6) floor is referred to as SCP-5038-1. No stairwells of any kind have been found on SCP-5038-1. SCP-5038-1 is a compartment floor, containing 300 identical sleeping chambers. The rooms aboard SCP-5038-1 are organised in two (2) long hallways traveling from aft to bow of SCP-5038. Even rooms on the port side and odds on the starboard side. One small hallway connects the two hallways every thirty (30) rooms. Rooms span from room 6000 at the aft of the ship to room 6300 at the bow of the ship. Both hallways of SCP-5038-1 appear to never have an end and span on forever without an end yet to be seen. The rooms and hallways seem to keep repeating their orders of hallways and rooms, but are still identical but separate. Entrance through any of the elevators on SCP-5038-1 have proven to return to the same elevator shaft, appearing in the same place as when they left.

Navigation and exploration of SCP-5038-1 has been proven difficult for foundation personnel and exploration teams. While on SCP-5038-1. For unknown reasons to biological beings SCP-5038 appears to be rocking excessively from side to side, while no sign of this rocking is shown anywhere else on board. The lurching of the ship increases as one tries to explore the depth of SCP-5038-1, however, no rocking of any kind is detected by non biological beings, making exploration via surveillance drone, or exploration rover most effective. Due to an incident including a task force, no more exploration of SCP-5038-1 is to be carried out by personnel, only exploration via robotics. See incident report 1.

All rooms on SCP-5038-1 prove to be identical, containing one (1) neatly made queen bed, a single dresser, and a fifteen (15) inch, wall mounted television. Through investigations all channels in every room on SCP-5038-1 have proven to be reviving no connection except for channel thirty four (34), the live view of the pool deck on floor ten (10). This channel has proven to be a live stream from the cameras present on the pool deck on board. Access to these rooms can be made by the ship wide key-card once used by the cleaning staff, however, through no explanation, foundation key cards from clearance level 2 and up work as well.

Room ████ is the only room that has any abnormalities aboard SCP-5038. The door handle has a red ‘DO NOT DISTURB’ sign hanging from the handle of the door. This room is referred to as SCP-5038-2. When SCP-5038-2 opened via an exploration droid, no anomaly is detected. SCP-5038-2 is the only compartment that is unique on SCP-5038-1. The room is small and narrow, containing a bunk bed on the left wall, both beds messy, a small work desk on the right wall. Two (2) small dressers on the right wall of SCP-5038-2. Both dressers containing dirty and used clothes, and a bathroom identical to other bathrooms in SCP-5038-1. And lastly, a TV same to the others on the floor. Through investigations all channels appear to be blank, except for channel thirty four (34) which shows the pool deck not empty, but filled with humanoid entity's of all ages, including personnel currently present on the deck. These entities are seen moving out of the way of personnel moving about on deck. For further details on the contents of SCP-5038-2 see Exploration Log-1.

When SCP-5038-2 is opened by a biological being, the room appears to be pitch black, even with the use of high power flashlights and even military grade night vision, the room pears to be a void of darkness. Out of this darkness emerges the subject who opened SCP-5038-2’s worst fear. The results have ranged from thousands of one thing such as spiders, to one (1) single object or entity. Other possibilities seen include the subject dying from an unseen force or harm happening to others.

The entity’s or objects or events that manifest out of SCP-5038-2 have a one hundred (100) percent chance of lethality, either due to physical harm or cardiac arrest caused by fear. All manifestations of SCP-5038 appear to vanish once SCP-5038 returns to SCP-5038-A but harm or disappearance of the subject or others does not undo. Due to the fact that most of the staff aboard SCP-5038 have a knowledge of many SCPs in their entirety, experiments of anyone with the knowledge of SCPs is strictly forbidden to prevent duplication of any High treat Keter class SCPs. Due to SCP-5038-2's capability of creating SCPs, protection of SCP-5038 is high priority. SCP-5038 was unknowingly discovered by Dr. █████, interview file attached.

Addendum:

Interviewed: Dr. Ben █████, level two (2) clearance.

Interviewer: Researcher ████ █████

<Begin Log>

Interviewer: “Welcome Dr. █████, please take a seat.”

Dr. █████: “Thank you, so what’s this whole thing about? Did I do something wrong?”

Interviewer: “That is what we are here to find out Doctor”

[Interviewer opens a Manila folder containing photographs of SCP-5038.]

Interviewer: “Is it correct Dr. █████ that you attended this the cruise ship ███████ █████ with your family on vacation?

Dr. █████ : “Yeah, me and my parents, and my maws uncle. We went over thanksgiving week. My parents shared a room and I roomed with my uncle.”

Interviewer: “Room ████, on floor six (6)”

Dr. █████: “Yeah…i got the a-ok from ya'll bout it so it’s not like”

[Interviewer interrupts]

Interviewer: “No no no Doctor, you see, we had heard that something strange has happened during your voyage and we would like to ask some questions. Could you please describe anything abnormal that happened”

Dr. █████: “Oh OK, well you see we were having a great time, we were on the last day, headed home, nothing out of the ordinary. But that night, I had a dream… at least I hope it was a dream…”

[Dr. █████ falls silent.]

Interviewer: “Please continue Doctor”

Dr. █████: “Right, sorry. Got the chills. In my… dream, I was woken up by knocking at my door, so I got up. When I opened the door, standing there was the dude who cleaned our room every day, Latino guy, never learned his name. He looked normal, except for his face… it was a blank slate, like those things in 3008? The staff. He just stood there man, but I couldn’t move. Then he started talking in this deep gravelly voice. He told me that, my fears are what where sinking me, enveloping me, drowning me. He said they would haunt me, never leave me. He wasn’t quite speaking yet I headed him loud and clear. And then he said my room would now serve as a, way point for [REDACTED] to extract fears. Then my room filled with darkness and I blacked out… or something.”

[Dr. █████ falls silent and stares at his hands]

Interviewer: “Let's talk about what happened after your, dream shall we?”

Dr. █████: “OK… OK yeah. Just felt so real dude. So I woke up on my bunk. Pitch black in my room dude, like my dream, and the abandon ship siren was roaring over head on the speaker. I got up and turned on the light but loathing happened, but I heated them turn on. My uncle wasn’t in the room which was strange, he would have grabbed me… I ran outside and started going down the hallway when the ship started rocking like crazy man.

Interviewer: “Was anyone else in the hallway with you?”

Dr. █████: “ That’s just the thing, couldn’t find a sole till I got outside. I had checked my parents rooms, and nothing. They were gone, all of there stuff too. I fact their bed was made.” (Chuckles) “so I ran best as I could till I got outside, got to my rendezvous spot. Others were there but my maw and paw, my uncle… never showed up. I assumed they were with a different group and where fine, they weren't in their rooms. Long story short, we got on the lifeboats, set off, and I watched the ship sink. Gone. We made it back to Galveston and they did a check of the passengers… all accounted for, but three (3). My family. Funny bout what that guy said in my dream, bout what I feared most. What I feared most was losing my…” Dr. █████'s voice breaks.

[Dr. █████ is seen holding back tears]

Interviewer: “I think that’s all for today Doc, thanks for your time”

[Dr. █████ is seen standing]

Dr. █████: “████, that ship really did sink right? It’s gone”

Interviewer: “…Yes doctor. It’s gone"

Dr. Clark: “Good”
