Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures] SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a secured 7x8x3 m garage. Access to SCP-XXXX’s room is limited to Level 4 personnel and D-Class when approved for testing. All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be kept in a metal toolbox on a table in the room.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a dark green 1927 Ford Model T Pickup. Its body panels and rims are made of vanadium steel, the seats are made from rough leather stuffed with sparse cotton, the rest of the interior is made of polished ash wood with tin metal trim, and the tyres are made from solid rubber. The metal chassis is made of unusually durable and oxidized tin metal. It lacks an engine in the engine bay, and the dashboard is a smooth slab with no electronics, gauges, or buttons, however complete with a functioning steering wheel that is able to pivot the front wheels. The car was found with a key fob (SCP-XXXX-1) with a base made of ash wood, and a key made of vanadium steel. SCP-XXXX-1 is not the type to come with the Ford Model T, and it serves an unknown purpose, as does not lock or unlock the doors nor ignite the engine. (due to the lack of an engine.)

Through the use of carbon dating, it has been found that SCP-XXXX is roughly about 1100 years old, and SCP-XXXX-1 has been identified to be more than 2000 years old.

SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties begin as soon as two people are placed in the seats, and two more in the bed. The four people in the vehicle are henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-2. As soon as SCP-XXXX-2 takes form, SCP-XXXX will become sapient and will start driving autonomously until it crosses a point where zero humans except SCP-XXXX-2 have a direct line of sight with SCP-XXXX. Recording devices such as cameras count as a line of sight, and cease to function as soon as SCP-XXXX reaches the point of no sight. If SCP-XXXX-2 is placed inside SCP-XXXX within a space with no way to reach an area with no visibility from any human bystander (SCP-XXXX-3) witnessing it, all instances of SCP-XXXX-3 will lose consciousness. When SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 are out of sight, they will both seemingly vanish, any noise emitted such as the vocalisations of SCP-XXXX-2 will audibly fade out over a duration of roughly 3.5 seconds. SCP-XXXX-3 will promptly regain consciousness roughly 5 seconds after SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 disappear, and cameras witnessing are permanently damaged from extreme amounts of light exposure.

SCP-XXXX will then return through the exact point it had vanished within a time of 1-9 minutes, (given no bystanders or cameras have a line of sight with the point) though facing the other way and with no traces of SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX then attempts to park at the same location where SCP-XXXX-2 was first placed into the car, then it will cease moving altogether. It is unknown what powers SCP-XXXX’s axles while autonomous. If SCP-XXXX-1 is not placed within SCP-XXXX with SCP-XXXX-2 during the anomolous event, an identical copy of an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will be found on the driver’s seat on arrival. There are 17 known instances of SCP-XXXX-1.
