Dr Cerelius

Item #: SCP-5025
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Scp-5025 is contained inside a near-completely soundproof cubed glass container, measuring 2’ x 2’ x 2’. Scp-5025 should be at all times examined by four or more researchers of Level 2 clearance minimum. The examination should be composed of both audio and visual means. Necessary equipment includes but is not limited to: Two standard issue CCTV cameras, as well as two hypersensitive microphones able to pick up sounds greater than 2 decibels. All parties responsible for the examination should have on hand: One set of noise cancelling headphones able to suppress and or ignore sounds below 130 decibels, examiners should also carry one bottle of standard amnestics to be administered in the case of a Priority A, Code: Ember containment breach by Scp-5025. Any such containment breach of Scp-5025 should be handled by the subsequently trained faculty members and treated as a Priority C, Code: Ember containment breach. If one or both members of the audio examination team is exposed to Scp-5025 while ringing, the remaining examiners will immediately remove the audio jacks from the control panel, and dispense the amnestics to each other participant. Other means of sedation and detainment are not advised but in extreme circumstances are tolerable solutions. Remaining examiners will then proceed to procure the secondary containment cubes, put on the safety headphones, and replace Scp-5025’s used containment cube.

All six sides of the transparent glass face should be marked by permanent ink, on the grounds that if left unwatched or a time exceeding 30 minutes, Scp-5025 will inexplicably cause one or more sides (Not exceeding three) to disappear, leaving no trace of incision, breaks, or tears in the remaining glass sides. Marks on the side must be recorded as present by the staff in a log provided to both visual examiners. Log MUST be updated every 30 minutes and failure to do so will result in termination or demotion.

Description: Scp-5025 is described as an old european style telephone measuring 28cm tall and 22cm wide. Scp-5025 will ring at what is perceived to be random, causing anyone within earshot to compulsively answer the phone, using any means necessary. Upon answering the phone, the user will hear heavy animal breathing, with unknown effects.

Upon further examination and testing, a realization was made that 3 weeks after hearing the message, the user will develop one of three afflictions: Dissociative Identity Disorder, Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, and late stages of Dementia. Note: Scp-5025 seems to have no preference for afflictions and are seemingly chosen at random. Age, ethnicity, affiliation with the SCP Foundation, etcetera, do not create any discernible discrimination when it comes to the given affliction.

Scp-5025 was initially picked up in an abandoned brothel on the British countryside, the building of which had not been touched since the 1800’s. The house was derelict and run down, and local authorities in the town steered clear of the house, as it had become that of an urban legend. After a pair of SCP Foundation members were unsuccessful at regaining contact to the Foundation after investigating, the Foundation dispatched MTF Lambda-77 for acquisition of Scp-5025. The team was successful but all members were exposed to a ringing noise coming from an ominous phone. All members reported feeling that they needed to answer the phone as if their life depended on it. All members except for one reported experiencing a loud breathing, resembling that of a great dane on the other line of the phone. After containment of Scp-5025 at Site-19, the members of MTF Lambda-77 were subject to an emergency screening. The screening revealed that three of the four members were housing quarter sized tumors in their pancreas. The last member recalled almost nothing of the trip, nor his name, as well as his occupation. He was later diagnosed with Dementia. All Members of MTF Lambda-77 that were subject to cancer, each requested one Scp-500 pill each. The subsequent requests were denied due to the limited number of uses left on Scp-500.
