SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 10 ft x 10 ft x 10 ft room at Site-██ inside the room SCP-XXXX is to remain inside a 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft 5 inch thick bullet proof glass case the door is to be comprised of solid steel with 7 locks each lock is to be checked monthly to ensure nothing can get in. Testing is by no means allowed unless authorized by head researcher of Site-██ Dr. Rei Field's authorization.
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be an infrared temperature gun of unknown company of origin. When SCP-XXXX is aimed at an object and the trigger is pulled it will list the melting point of said object and it will proceed to melt, how long this takes depends on the temperature the melting point is, a 6 in. x 6 in. x 6 in. tungsten cube heated up to 6152°F (3400°C) and began melting in under 20 seconds while a titanium cube of the same dimensions heated up to 3038°F (1670°C) and began melting in just under 10 seconds. SCP-XXXX has no effect on materials that are already liquid like water or pre melted down metals, or on materials like wood that physically can't melt suggesting it doesn't generate heat as much as it does something to the material that causes it to heat to it's melting point.
Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX caught the attention of the Foundation when they received reports of a robber using something to melt a cop car to get away, not long after the Foundation found a Mathew Wales in ████████, Texas, Mathew was quick to pull SCP-XXXX and melted several items in his home, he was apprehended and brought in for questioning (see addendum XXXX-2).

Dr. ████████: Good, the temperature gun, where did you get it.
Mathew Wales: The hardware store.
Dr. ████████: Don't get smart with me.
Mathew Wales: No I'm being serious I got it at Lowe's.
Dr. ████████: Out of curiosity why would a robber need a temperature gun.
Mathew Wales: Hey just because I rob people doesn't mean I can't have hobbies, I like working on car engines and one of my cars' engine was running hot so I bought it to see how hot it was running to help trouble shoot, I aimed it at a rock in my back yard and to my surprise the rock melted, then I went back bought a different one aimed it at a rock, nothing happened, and that was the one I used for the engine.
Dr. ████████: … huh, I'm going to be honest I didn't really expect that.
Mathew Wales: Listen if you guys want it you can have it, I don't want to mess with you for obvious reasons, one being you kicked down my front door.
Dr. ████████: Right…… Now, what if I told you we could get rid of your criminal history?

Closing Statement: Mathew Wales was hired by the foundation as a member of D-class personnel where a month in he was killed during an escape attempt. SCP-XXXX was placed in an anomalous item locker at Site-██.
Addendum XXXX-3: A request was put in to greatly increase containment procedures of SCP-XXXX by Dr. Charlie Young and was accepted by the O5 council, this request was filed after a security breach when a group of Chaos Insurgents raided Site-██ the CI were effectively stopped by MTF Epsilon-11 ("The Nine-Tailed Fox") however SCP-XXXX was taken out of it's locker by one of the Insurgents and was used on the site. The Insurgent using SCP-XXXX was able to kill over 26 members of Foundation Personnel and cause well over 600,000 US Dollars worth of property damage, the Insurgent was eventually stopped with a bullet to the head.
