Item #: SCP-XXX

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: All swimming locations with an average of more than 1000 occupants or any major swimming events must be staffed by at least one staff personnel. Staff personnel are to patrol the location and regularly check vending machines and packed food items for instances of SCP-XXX. Any individuals who have consumed SCP-XXX but not expired are to be administered class B amnestics.

Description: SCP-XXX is an anomalous name-brand energy bar that appears at swimming sites with more than 1000 occupants. SCP-XXX appears as an energy bar produced by a company called Tesamax, no factories with this name have been found.

SCP-XXX is a cognitohazard causing the consumer to forget how to swim approximately 20 minutes after consumption of SCP-XXX. SCP-XXX is typically mistaken for the energy bar the individual had packed or is purchasing. Any individuals who have consumed an instance of SCP-XXX but not swam afterwards report that SCP-XXX was delicious and they felt energized and full afterwards, some individuals even going as far as trying to find it in stores or online and even recommending the product to family and friends. Any individuals who swim approximately 20 minutes after consumption of SCP-XXX will drown.

The first instance of SCP-XXX was located at ██████ █████████, ███████, PA on ██/██/07 after ███████ ███████, whos friends and family deemed an excellent swimmer, ate an instance of SCP-XXX and died, the wrapper was found 7 hours later in a trash can by Doctor ████████, who was on vacation at the park.

Addendum 1: 5 instances of SCP-XXX were located at ███████ ██████ ██████, one of the world's biggest water parks, at once. It is theorized that the more occupants a location has the more likely it is for instances of SCP-XXX to spawn.

Addendum 2: Researcher ████ Test Log
An instance of SCP-XXX was fed to a Ictalurus punctatus1. The subject sank to the bottom of the tank 17 minutes and 38 seconds after eating SCP-XXX. The subject hopped around the tank and then 3 days later. Similar tests have been conducted on different types of aquatic creatures, all of which yield the same results.
