SCP-3723

Item #: SCP-3723

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3723 is to be kept in a standard jewel case with a simple lock around it. Due to its nature, it is very easy to maintain, and will not cause any harm unless slipped on any human finger.

Description: SCP-3723 is a very plain looking brass ring and has no discernable qualities other than the innate ability to always fit anyone's finger, and once equipped makes a perfect (albeit extremely tight) grip on the wearer's finger. As far as what we can gather from the extremely brief experiments with SCP-3723 the ring seems to harbor souls of well over a million people inside of it. The exact amount of people it has inside of it is unknown, but reports show test subjects that are only fluent in one language writhe in agony and scream in multiple different ones.

The ring appears to shove the indeterminate number of spirits inside one body: causing catastrophic brain damage leaving the wearer in a heavy vegetative state. The wearer, SCP-3723-1 still regains some semblance of self but does absorb the knowledge of the millions of souls inside of it. When asked to do things like solve complex equations SCP-3723-1 will stop spasming and answer the equation like a trained mathematician. SCP-3723-1 has been asked to perform tasks such as singing, dancing, cooking, and even sword fighting. SCP-3724-1 will not go into the vegetative state until after completing the full task. The souls inside of SCP-3723 range from people of all ethnicities, sexes, and age. SCP-3723 holds people from different time periods, and when asked to speak long dead languages it will do so with ease.

Recovery Log: SCP-3723 was found on ██/██/19██ at [REDACTED], Louisiana. Scientists working in this area at the time had heard stories of an old voodoo woman by the name of Lucille ████ who was known around the area. She was said to give out painfully ironic items to those she saw fit and chose one of our scientists to gift SCP-3723 to. Dr. ██████ he immediately took the object to the foundation and ran some tests. When discovering the ironic nature of the ring he became infuriated and demanded immediate capture of the woman. Upon return to Lucille's prior location, she was already gone.
