Doctor J S Clark

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a cell made of pure 24 carat gold. This cell is to be 2ft by 2ft. This room is to be surrounded by no less than fifty(50) live cattle, surrounded by another layer of gold, with a gold plated observation window. No materials containing lead are to be allowed within 100 ft of SCP-XXXX. Tests may only take place in an hour space after SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is to be kept under 24 hour visual and audio surveillance. SCP-XXXX's cell is to be checked every 3 hours for cracks and holes. These checks may not take place if the bell is ringing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an alarm clock around 15 centimetres high. The clock itself is black and white, and the exterior is also black. The two bells on top are connected by a metal wire that is electric to the touch. Dr XXXXX estimated around 435 volts.
When SCP-XXXX rings, the nearest living thing bigger than an insect dies. Causes of death vary from asphyxiation to total organ failure. It is as yet unknown as to how the bell causes death, but it is thought that it may be something to do with ultrasonic waves produced by the bell.
The bell itself sounds different to a regular bell in the way that it is much higher and longer than your average bell. However, in all other respects it has a regular bell.
The bell will ring automatically every so often, and the space between the bell ringing can be anything from 1 hour to 48 hours. The ringing itself lasts around 5 minutes, and is extremely loud. Tests have shown that this noise can cause a terrible headache if the subject is close enough. Scientists have yet to discover a pattern to the ringing of the bell.
The only material shown to block the powers of the bell is pure 24 carat gold. Lead has the contrary effect, causing SCP-XXXX to go haywire and ring almost nonstop. It is yet unknown as to why these materials have these effects.
Recovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered after reports came in of a Polish town with a very high death toll. When questioned, the locals blamed the deaths on the alarm clock in the abandoned church. The alarm clock was taken for testing and the townsfolk were given Class C amnestics. While transporting SCP-XXXX to the foundation, ██ personnel died due to a lead pencil in Dr ████'s pocket.
