Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-3489 is to be contained within a 50km by 50km portion of forestry near Davor, Philippines. The area is to be outfitted with no less than 325 cameras covering every square inch of the premises. SCP-3489's habitat is to be gated off, with the local media and public told the area is "Under construction" for preparation of becoming a national park. No less than 52 armed security staff are to monitor the perimeter of the premises, with no less than 14 persons monitoring camera footage at any one time.
The Area contains ████ basic housing units that are furbished with working plumbing, water, electricity, 10 books per household although more may be supplied upon request by head researcher. Apart from housing the area contains a park, a movie theatre, a graveyard, and a general goods store.
Instances of SCP-3489 are to be fed █ human feti or still-borns' per individual instance of SCP-3489. During regional holidays, examples being "Manila Day" (June 24th) and "National Heroes Day" (August 27th), Instances of SCP-3489 are to fed ██ human feti or still-borns' per individual instance of SCP-3489.
Members of SCP-3489 are not to be removed from containment except if being used for testing and approved by the head on site researcher. Any personnel seen interacting with instances of SCP-3489 shall be given class A amnesties and be transferred to another project. Any persons found to be attempting to aid instances of SCP-3489 in escape will be terminated on site.
Special Recontainment Procedures 3489-ALPHA: — In case of containment breach in which one of multiple instances SCP-3489 escape containment, ████ human feti are to be deposited in the geographical center of the land set aside for SCP-3489 via "CH-53K King Stallion" class military helicopters accompanied with five "F-16 Fighting Falcons" class fighter jet per every transport helicopter.
Once recontainment has been confirmed for all instances of SCP-3489, A vapor containing 50% mundane water and 50% pure ginger extract shall be sprayed on the entire perimeter of the containment zone, spraying cannot continue any more than 3 hours.
Special Recontainment Procedures 3489-BETA: In the event the special containment procedure 3489-ALPHA fails to contain all instances of SCP-3489, local media is to be told to broadcast a national state of emergency broadcast claiming that an "Aswang attack has occurred in [insert region here], all pregnant women and expectant mothers as well as newborn children should be relocated to nearest military outpost for safekeeping until the threat has passed." The purpose of this broadcast is to ensure the safety of the most endangered demographic, pregnant, expectant mothers and infants, from harm.
Once the broadcast has been made and civilians have moved to the protected areas, 55 "CH-53K King Stallion" class helicopters, each containing 2 female D-Class personnel or local criminals who are pregnant or suspected to be pregnant, will patrol the entirety of the Philippines in order to attract SCP-3489. Once contact has been made, A "Long-Range Acoustic Device" will be used to disrupt and incapacitate instances of SCP-3489. Once rendered incapacitated instances of SCP-3489 will be brought back to containment area, and area will be treated to the water and ginger extra spray treatment for no more than 3 hours.
Description: Members of SCP-3489 are humanoid entities that vary in size and superficial appearance and are extremely long lived. They universally appear to be young women between ages of 18 and 35 and are almost exclusively of philippian however they can appear to be any race. From a distance an instance of SCP-3489 would be easily mistaken for a mundane human however all instances of SCP-3489 have green or brown sclera and black iris's and pupils. Genetically SCP-3489 is most similar to the Philippine Bare-backed Fruit Bat (Dobsonia chapmani) however unlike Dobsonia chapmani, instances of SCP-3489 are able to see almost as acutely as that of an average Homo sapient however they rely more on their sense of hearing, smell, hormone detection and sonar in day to day activities. SCP-3489 is also able to live for extreme amounts of time and is potentially biologically immortal, the oldest know instance of SCP-3489 was born in 1521 when the first spanish conquistadors arrived to the philippine islands however it is likely older members of SCP-3489 do exist. SCP-3489 find the smell of ginger to be revolting and will avoid areas with high amounts of ginger. Silver has also been found to cause rashes and mild pain, however if an individual is exposed to these substances for prolonged periods of time an immunity can develop.
SCP-3489 are content to stay in its normal appearance so long as it is supplied with an ample amount of feti, still-borns, or infants and remain generally docile and friendly, being known to have normal conversations with common civilians and research staff on a multitude of topics. However when starved of its food source SCP-3489 will go threw a metamorphosis and become a large bipedal bat, similar in appearance to Dobsonia chapmani including relatively large ears, flight capable wings relative to its size, large wholly black eyes, and appendages on the feet adept for grabbing hold on objects. In this form SCP-3489 displays superhuman physicality, increased durability and regenerative properties and will not die even when shot by multiple security staff at once. The more starved the individual the more heightened its powers, though conversely SCP-3489 seem to be more susceptible to ginger and other repellents. When in this form instances of SCP-3489 will begin looking for new borns or pregnant mothers on which to feed upon. Once contact between the victim and SCP-3489 has been made SCP-3489 will kill or incapacitate anything it sees as an obstacle, be it animal or human, before ingesting the infant. In the case of pregnant women, SCP-3489 will ████████ them before eating the fetus within or will ████████ their ████████ for the purposes of procreating. Once this process has been repeated two or three times SCP-3489 will return to its initial appearance.SCP The metamorphosis will also occur if individual SCP-3489 are prevented from intercourse for the purposes procreating.
SCP-3489 is considered sapient, possessing above average human level intelligence. When allowed SCP-3489 are capable of constructing complex tools, holding and understanding conversation, regardless of the language being spoken. Young SCP-3489 are capable of empathy and sympathy and have been known to "worry" about members of the research staff and inquire about their mental and physical health. These individuals also exhibit more "guilt" towards the infants that they eat. However older SCP-3489 do not display these behavioral tendencies and have exhibited a positive response towards active hunting of food not seen in their younger counterparts. The current hypothesis by Dr. ███████ is that SCP-3489 are not conceived with the ability to feel nothing when consuming infants and as a coping mechanism SCP-3489 individuals force themselves to become numb to the feeling and convince themselves there is no guilt in their actions. However both demographics of SCP-3489 share a common trait of burying any remains left over in the graveyard.
