Item #:SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX Is to be contained in a terminal separated from the rest of the sites web. This terminal is to be given false information constantly. Absolutely no vital or true info shall be given to SCP-XXXX. The terminal in which SCP-XXXX is situated is to be constantly monitored via a foundation AI with absolutely no non essential data on it, for another Gypsy class event. The unit is contained in a 2 by 2 meter unfurnished containment cell in alpha wing. Access is restricted to personal or level 2 clearance or higher, and only during testing which must be approved by SCP-XXXXs containment specialist.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an infovorous entity of unknown physical features. It requires a constant food supply of various info. By “consuming” information the entity will erase said info from existence. SCP-XXXX when low on its food supply is capable of exiting the media it was consuming and search for more information. If it consumes info on a person said person will disappear to an unknown fate and will become an instance of SCP-XXXX-A there are no recorded instances of SCP-XXXX-A due to the circumstances of becoming one.
Addendum XXXX-1
This addendum is a comprehensive list of all Gypsy class events. Gypsy class events are declared if SCP-5058 breaches containment, and deletes important foundation files.
Gypsy-1: During this time Scp-XXXX was contained in a hardcover copy of an unknown book. And SCP-XXXXs primary anomalous properties were unknown.
BEGIN LOG:
1. ███ can be seen carrying SCP-XXXX out of its containment cell
2. ███ can be seen walking through the facility and going into a prepped testing environment next to the entities cell.
3. ███ can be seen placing SCP-XXXX on a prepped pedestal in a 5 by 5 meter containment cell with an access terminal inside the room (this terminal had access to only a few non essential personnel’s files and the test info)
4. ███ can be seen attempting to exit the containment cell but before they could exit ███ would begin spasming on the ground before screaming and disappearing.
END LOG
Note: During this Gypsy event ██████ along with an unknown number of non essential personnel as well as all of the data regarding the test was lost to SCP-XXXX. One man witnessed the test (Researcher, Sither)
Gypsy log 2: ███████████
Addendum XXXX-2
The object was discovered at one of the now defunct ██████ corporation’s research sites.
It was contained in an unknown book by an unknown writer the only info we have on the book is that it was 1,002 pages long.
Test A - 12/10/1948
Can SCP-XXXX move through walls to find new info:
Procedure: A terminal identical to the one currently used to contain SCP-XXXX will be situated in an adjacent room with the items containment procedures in effect. The terminal housing SCP-XXXX will be turned off, and both terminals will be monitored. Should SCP-XXXX not move terminals within 10 minutes the terminal housing SCP-XXXX will be turned on. But should SCP-XXXX move terminals the new terminal will become its new containment cell.
Results: SCP-XXXX proceeded to exit their terminal, and move into the CCTV camera. The entity then promptly relocated to another low clearance terminal. Which resulted in the loss of an unknown number of level-0, and level-1 staff.
Analysis: It seems SCP-XXXX is not capable of moving through walls but it appears to be sentient maybe even sapient further testing with more precautions will be required. I am formally requesting that SCP-XXXX be upgraded to Euclid for the time being.
Test B - 17/11/1984
Is SCP-XXXX is sentient:
Procedure: SCP-XXXX will have two additional terminals placed into its room. One of which will contain almost no information while the other will have a large amount of data. However the one with more data will have Level-3 encryption after the test is concluded both new terminals will be powered off and the old one powered on to return it to containment. The new terminals will then be removed.
Results: The monitoring systems on the encrypted terminal registered several failed access attempts, before signaling a successful one and the unregistered deletion of data. SCP-XXXX was promptly returned to containment and the two terminals removed.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX appears to be sapient. More advanced containment procedures will need to be developed.
Interview log Scp 5058-1
Interviewer: Doctor, ███
Interviewed:Researcher, Sither
Foreword: This log takes place 2 hours after event Gypsy-1 and was supposed to be just a follow up.
Begin log**:
Doctor, Redacted:Listen we have a few questions we need to ask about, What was his name?
Researcher Sither: Strange I can't seem to remember his name either.
Doctor ███: Do you remember what he looked like?
Researcher Sither: No I can’t.
Doctor ███: Do you remember anything about him? Anything at all.
Researcher Sither:N-no I don’t.
Doctor ███: That’s a bit off but did you do any research on the item?
Researcher Sither: No we didn’t aside from one thing.
Doctor ███: And what might that be?
Researcher Sither: The pages, they kept losing words.
Doctor ███: What do you mean by that? Were they erased? did they fall of the page? Be specific.
Researcher Sither: The words they just disappeared.
Doctor ███: You mean just gone? No in between just gone?
Researcher Sither: Precisely and I have a theory to what happened to whatever his name was.
Doctor ███: Really? What might your assumption be?
Researcher Sither: I think he was erased like in the book. Now before you call me crazy I have some evidence for this.
Doctor ███: No go ahead I’m listening.
Researcher Sither: There was a terminal nearby it was just a low tier one with data on only data on low clearance staff, and the test data on it’s network. When I was spectating his test I watched him suddenly disappear. In the chaos we locked down the faculty taking all power from the room. I think there’s some kind of entity that was erasing the book.
Doctor ███: I’ll take your testimony into consideration. You may leave.
END LOG
Closing statement: After this interview the entirety of alpha wing staff were questioned about (REDACTED) and none could remember him. Causing SCP-XXXXs anomalous properties to be revealed.
