Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]

Description: SCP-XX primal anatomy resembles a giant arthropod, with an upper thorax and claw-like front legs of a praying mantis (Mantodea), attached to the cephalothorax, abdomen and back legs of a jumping spider (Salticidae). Its head is replaced by a kitin cartilage semi-solid formation, wich is similar in form to a flower calyx, and has a extensible hole in the middle to ingest its food. Full grown measures can reach 5 meters long, erect a height of 3 meters, and a weight of 450kg. Subject color pattern is mostl gray, since its devoid of natural default pigmentation, adquiring instead the colors of its surroundings. SCP-XX appears unable to change colors once fully grown.

The body of the entity radiates a highly-anomalous aura with 30 meter radius around it. Anything smaller in size to this area, entering the area of SCP-XX will turn invisible to all observers outside of it, and experiment a progressive nullification of sound depending on the distance to SCP-XX. This cualities and intensity of the effects inside the zone perimeter are related in a similar matter, making SCP-XX sense and react accordingly to the pace and proximity of the approacher. Therefore SCP-XX will remain unseeable ,even within the area, only starting to show traces of its silhouette once 10 meters near it.

Alternate forms of sighting from a “safe” distance are not yet discovered, denying infrared light, X-rays, thelepathy or anomalous-cognitive effect to enter or properly work in the zone. Entering of any recording device near the entity will malfunction inmediatly, and objects with kinetic or cognitive effects will be temporally neutralized or killed for being near the creature. SCP-XX shows total awareness to its own anomalous aura, but his behavior and senses appear unaffected to its properties.

To the date of this entry, there is no possible way to permanently destroy SCP-XXX. When the subject is deathly injured, unable to fulffill its primal needs, or submitted to a instant death scenario, its body will retract itself to its center, crushing it and compressing until a 3 meter radio sphere, from the remains of SCP-XX, is created. The sphere appears to be made of an unknow and deflective metal, and its the only fase of SCP-XXX life cycle in wich is visible. While in this form, SCP-XXX appears to loose its biological properties, growing without any need and unaffected by any physical attempts to destroy it. SCP-XXX will hatch from this metalic ball after one week, as a smaller version of its fomer self and a reduced anomalous perímeter of 5 meters. Memories and teachings learned from SCP-XXX past life appear to remain in this new life cycle.

The growth stage of SCP-XXX its a defining factor on his future behavior. The creature takes one year to reach total maturity, shedding its exoskeleton every 3 months, and owning an unnatural passive and sedentarian behavior if unprovoked. However, any alteration to its growing environment such as temperature, food amount, pressure, level of oxygen, or avaliable space will cause SCP-XX to temporaly mutate in order to endure and survive such conditions. If these conditions are induced while developing adulthood, they will be permanent, succesfully remaining in the next life cycle. Any attemp of violence towards the creature while it is non-mature, will trigger the same, with the agressor being remembered by SCP-XX (From now one, identified as SCP-XX-1). Once ended with its growing procedure, SCP-XX will turn hostile towards all stances of SCP-XX-1, and will actively try to hunt them as well as anyone who enters his strategy. (Details further below).

SCP-XX is sapient, enabling him to execute out of the ordinary methods to gather information or terminate SCP-XXX-1. The being has been capable of alter his properties in order to act by surprise, and seems to use extended periods of time thinking or shedding. -Still not finished this…-
