Special Containment Procedures: Scp-5561 is to be contained in a m 4 m x 4 m x 4 m concrete cube. bi-weekly checks for any objects expelled from the object are mandatory and are to be removed, studied and then after a maximum of 2 weeks destroyed by incineration. If this is not possible (see SCP-5561-C) then corrosive substances may be used to destroy objects.
Description: Scp-5561 is a 1 m x 1 m x 2 m early 19th century fireplace it is black in colour with what seems an everlasting source of fuel. The type of fuel that the object produces varies and has been observed producing coal, gas and firewood made of either birch or oak. The object was originally discovered at an auction in (redacted) London when the foundation was alerted of a fireplace producing large amounts of gold and other precious items such as gemstones, jewellery and drinking glasses dating back to the Victorian era. The object was taken by the foundation and class A amnestics were administered to all non-foundation staff in the area
Addendum scp-5561-01:the object was observed to expel a large golden coin 3 cm in diameter and a long slender gold hilted knife 30 cm in length both objects dating back to the Victorian era and a similar year to the original objects creation. Research has shown that the coin is made of 24 karat pure gold and the knife is made of a reinforced titanium alloy and the hilt 24 karat pure gold and tipped with a ruby. After 2 weeks of research the original object started to produce smoke and the objects were violently sucked back into the object no material was able to stop their movement
Addendum scp-5561-02:after a diamond necklace was produced by the object research by doctor (redacted) has found that “repayment” of the objects with an item of similar value to the expelled object then the requisition event when the objects are sucked back in the fireplace can be stopped.
Addendum scp-5561-03:after further research on the object it is believed that a wormhole connects the object to a pocket dimension of unknown property
test record scp-5561-01:a unmanned drone with live video capability was driven into the object to test if travel was possible through the object the drone disappeared as soon as it would normally hit the back plate of a average fireplace and after 3 minutes of video silence the drone appeared in a area of complete darkness . Lights were turned on, on the drone and had no affect the drone drove for 1 hour but was then violently taken and destroyed by an unknown force
test record scp-5561-02: 2 white mice equipped with micro cameras and uv torches and both had eyepieces allowing them to see UV light (UV light was tested in a redacted test and were found of being capable to light the area slightly) and were sent into the object and successfully appeared in the pocket dimension and were unharmed by the journey after 30 mins the mice were brought back through the object via wire cable but only 1 of the mice came back. The second mouses cable was cut near the attachment point to the mouse with the chipped part of an unknown object later found to be a claw belonging to an unknown creature but after further reasearch the claw is similar in many of its propertys to the claw of felis catus and a request to use human subjects was sent to the 05 counsel
test record scp-5561-03: D-2341 and D-2342 were sent into the fireplace equipped with uv capable torches chest strapped cameras and small handguns equipped with rubber bullets both subjects entered the object unharmed and were instructed to move forward into the area and the live video cameras were able to hear the sound of growling and the sound of running and then both d-class personnel showed extreme reactions of distress and fear and completely unloaded the firearms both were carrying. To stop the risk of losing video data the cameras immediately started uploading footage wirelessly both d-class were taken away by an unknown source and D-2341 was terminated with D-2342 being taken by the force and after 2 hours of video silence D-2342 started talking to the camera and was talking about a large creature. D-2342 was then instructed to show the camera the creature. D-2342 then shows the camera the creature but the creature was alerted by the movement rushed at D-2342 and D-2342 was terminated the creature has know been named SCP-5561-1 and has the same object class as the original object
Addendum scp-5561-06: scp 5561-1 is a large cat like creature with a height of 4 m and a length of 2 m but the objects frontal appendages are grossly out of proportion with its hind legs forcing the object to walk more like a gorilla rather than a cat. The object is black in colouration with long white claws on its “hands” and it's “feet” and its head has a large mouth that is filled with dagger-like teeth ranging from 7 cm long to 3 cm long. The objects surroundings consist of the same black area but a large mound of precious objects has been observed in the background along with the damaged drone and a slightly decomposed mouse carcass and this is the creature suspected to be providing the objects being expelled from the fireplace
Addendum scp-5561-07: after the footage was shown to the 05 council a vote from the council further research on the object has been restricted until further notice
