Item #: SCP-HEIM

Object Class: Thaumiel

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-HEIM is to be contained in a standard human containment cell at Site-XX. SCP-HEIM is to be allotted 3 kg of metal biweekly. Requests for additional materials must be submitted to Site Director XXXXX. SCP-HEIM is to be allowed to move around the facilities of Site-XX, but must be accompanied by at least one Foundation personnel. SCP-HEIM is to be granted any requests for literature related to manufacturing and classical smithing, and is permitted to use Site-XX's on-site machine shop and forge, providing the necessary supervision and safety protocols are observed1.

Description: SCP-HEIM is a humanoid entity that physically resembles a young adult Caucasian male. Approximately 47% of SCP-HEIM's body has been converted to organic stone and metal by an unknown process, though the metallic components bear similarities to SCP-217 infection. All instances of converted matter carry DNA, also similar to SCP-217, but also displays a multitude of abnormalities not previously recorded, including extreme physical strength and regenerative properties. SCP-HEIM shows signs of manic-depressive disorder, heightened anxiety, and occasional claustrophobia, likely due to the nature of its capture and previous history. However, physical contact and/or proximity to metal greatly calms SCP-HEIM, leading to heightened cooperation and amicability with Foundation personnel.

SCP-HEIM's primary anomalous effect, designated SCP-HEIM-1, is a field of influence that projects constantly from SCP-HEIM out to approximately 1.5m. Metal or metallic substances within SCP-HEIM-1's area of effect undergo multiple anomalous alterations on the physical and chemical level, including a marked increase in workability, heat resistance, and resistance to surface alterations, including a 99% decrease in oxidation. Substances affected by SCP-HEIM-1 maintain a polished and pristine appearance, even when subjected to highly corrosive substances.

SCP-HEIM-1 has a greatly altered influence on metal worked by SCP-HEIM. All hand tools forged by SCP-HEIM have displayed exceptional resistance to damage of any kind, and individuals observed using these tools report feelings of peace and relaxation. Additionally, when held by an individual of a certain skill level, the tools cause a localized temporal anomaly, causing all entities involved with the task to move at increased speeds until completion, with instances noted moving at 1.75 times the speed of a non-anomalous human. The determinant of skill is unknown at this time.

All metal allotted to SCP-HEIM must be removed and replaced biweekly. Overexposure to SCP-HEIM-1 causes affected substances, particularly those in a size or orientation that could be machined by hand, to emit low levels of Aspect radiation averaging 60-80 pulses per minute.

SCP-HEIM was recovered during a raid on a Sarkhic compound in rural Illinois after Foundation agents living nearby reported low-level reality alterations. After eliminating armed resistances, SCP-HEIM was found locked in a fully plastic dog kennel suffering from severe malnourishment and claustrophobia. SCP-HEIM was contained post-retrieval within a standard humanoid containment cell with standard furnishings and monitoring devices. SCP-HEIM was observed moving around the room, but appeared to be incapable of sleep.
