Preliminary Post-Retrieval Interview
Date: █/█/2018
Interviewee: SCP-HEIM
Interviewer: Dr. Alexander Sjálf
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. Sjálf: Good evening, SCP-HEIM.
SCP-HEIM does not respond.
Dr. Sjálf: I'm sorry for the designation, I'm afraid I don't know your name.
SCP-HEIM does not respond.
Dr. Sjálf: Are you capable of communicating, SCP-HEIM?
SCP-HEIM does not respond. Dr. Sjálf attempts to make eye contact, but SCP-HEIM looks away, curling up in its chair. Dr. Sjálf looks decidedly worried.
Dr. Sjálf: Forgive me, it was rude to attempt to speak to you so soon after such traumatic events. We'll speak again when you're feeling better.
SCP-HEIM is observed nodding its head minutely.

Second Post-Retrieval Interview
Date: █/██/2018
Interviewee: SCP-HEIM
Interviewer: Dr. Alexander Sjálf
Dr. Sjálf: Hello, SCP-HEIM. Are you feeling any better?
SCP-HEIM is seen nodding slightly.
Dr. Sjálf: Excellent. Are your living arrangements satisfactory?
SCP-HEIM: Cold. SCP-HEIM responds in English, with a Midwest accent.
Dr. Sjálf: My apologies, I'll make sure they add some kind of heating system.
SCP-HEIM: Thank you.
Dr. Sjálf: Do you feel ready to discuss what happened at the compound?
SCP-HEIM stares off into the distance, before shaking its head.
Dr. Sjálf: I understand. We'll reconvene at a later date.
SCP-HEIM: No metal…
Dr. Sjálf: Pardon?
SCP-HEIM: No metal…Need…
Dr. Sjálf looks to the audio technician, who mouths 'no metal' back to him.
Dr. Sjálf: We'll handle that as well. Thank you, SCP-HEIM.
SCP-HEIM's living quarters are purged of any furniture containing metal and replaced with plastic equivalents. Containment procedures were also updated to allow no metal of any kind within the immediate area of SCP-HEIM. SCP-HEIM seems to have no averse response, but still does not sleep.
Note from Dr. Sjálf: Under no circumstances are we to accelerate this into an interrogation. This young man is showing serious stress for reasons that should be obvious. Besides, SCP-HEIM is both compliant and docile. We have no reason to rush.
Tertiary Post-Retrieval Interview
Date: ██/█/2018
Interviewee: SCP-HEIM
Interviewer: Dr. Vincenzio Serritella
Dr. Serritella was brought in to interview SCP-HEIM, in attempts to elicit a more communicative response by varying interviewers. Dr. Serritella was recently engaged, and neglected to remove his engagement ring before the interview.
Dr. Serritella: Good afternoon, SCP-HEIM. How are we feeling today?
SCP-HEIM: Still…cold.
Dr. Serritella: That's strange. Didn't we take a look at your room's heating?
SCP-HEIM nods.
Dr. Serritella: Clearly not well enough. At any rate, I did a little digging around the area, found an individual that looks like you before… well, before you had to come to us. Mind if I show you a couple pictures?
SCP-HEIM: No…
Dr. Serritella produces a personnel file compiled from missing youths in the area. As he leafs through it, SCP-HEIM shows marked interest in the doctors left hand. Dr. Serritella does not notice, and spreads a variety of photos across the table.
Dr. Serritella: Do any of these people look familiar? Anyone you saw in the compound?
SCP-HEIM: No…none of them were there…
Dr. Serritella: Well, I suppose that's good for them. Let's shift the topic, hm?
SCP-HEIM nods, still focused on the doctor's hand.
Dr. Serritella: While we haven't finished going through all the information we've gathered from where we rescued you, it looks like you had a particularly gruesome time. Dr. Serritella pushes a photo of the site towards SCP-HEIM with his left hand. Do you feel ready to talk about this?
SCP-HEIM leans over to look at the photo.
Dr. Serritella: Do you know what they were trying to do here?
SCP-HEIM: Your hand…
Dr. Serritella: What about my… Oh, the ring? Is something wrong?
SCP-HEIM lunges at unprecedented speeds, touching the ring before Dr. Serritella reacts, and SCP-HEIM slumps forward onto the interview table. Dr. Serritella motions to call security, but is interrupted by a loud snore, as SCP-HEIM has fallen asleep. SCP-HEIM was returned to his containment by armed personnel.
Note from Dr. Sjálf: It has swiftly become apparent to me that I completely misunderstood SCP-HEIM's situation. I assumed that he 'needed no metal', but rather, he had no metal, and needed it. We will be immediately revising SCP-HEIM's containment protocols.
SCP-HEIM's containment cell was immediately supplied with several ingots of steel and cast iron, as well as a cast iron sphere for observation. SCP-HEIM remained asleep for almost 19 hours. Upon waking up, SCP-HEIM walked around the room, touching each ingot, before sighing and leaning back in a chair.
After remaining in constant metal exposure for 72 consecutive hours, SCP-HEIM showed remarkable improvements to its mood, allowing for another interview with Dr. Sjálf. Before the interview, research personnel went into SCP-HEIM's containment chamber to inspect the ingots, and noted increases in impact resistance and workability. SCP-HEIM was observed carrying the sphere into the interview chamber.
Fourth Post-Retrieval Interview
Date: ██/██/2018
Interviewee: SCP-HEIM
Interviewer: Dr. Alexander Sjálf
Dr. Sjálf: Good afternoon, SCP-HEIM.
SCP-HEIM: Good afternoon. SCP-HEIM is throwing the sphere around in his hands, despite it weighing 4.5 kg.
Dr. Sjálf: You certainly seem to be in better spirits. I apologize for my mistake earlier, I misunderstood your request.
SCP-HEIM: No need. I was…not communicating as well as I could, was I? Can't blame you for that.
Dr. Sjálf: I appreciate that. Are you capable of answering some questions now?
SCP-HEIM: Absolutely. I'm sorry for making you folks wait.
Dr. Sjálf: It's quite alright. Now, when we found you, you were in a kennel, completely made of plastic. Who had you kept in there?
SCP-HEIM: I…don't really know. They didn't exactly take the time to introduce themselves before shoving me in. I did over hear something about a…carsick?
Dr. Sjálf: Karcist?
SCP-HEIM: Yeah, that was it! Certainly makes more sense than "carsick"…
Dr. Sjálf: When did you hear about this Karcist?
SCP-HEIM: Oh, they talked about him a lot… I saw him a couple times, always in robes, never saw his face. He was the one that was usually…
Dr. SJálf: …SCP-HEIM?
SCP-HEIM: We're okay, we're okay… Whooo, alright. I'm here. I'm good. What were we talking about?
Dr. Sjálf: If you need to take a moment, we can. But we were discussing when you'd seen the Karcist.
SCP-HEIM: Right, right. The Karcist was the one who was overseeing all the crazy [REDACTED] they did to me. He's why I'm like… SCP-HEIM gestures to his body, specifically the non-anomalous areas.
Dr. Sjálf: Are you saying the Karcist was attempting to cure you?
SCP-HEIM: Don't give him that much credit. I remember what happened. The [REDACTED] snatched me when I was walking back from one of my classes. Sun was down when they did it, must've been around 8 or so. They drugged me and hauled me back to that hellhole. When I woke up, I was stuck in that cage. And it HURT.
Dr. Sjálf: The cage hurt?
SCP-HEIM: No, whatever they stuck me with did. I woke up and it felt like they shoved a running motor into my gut. My insides were tearing for… I don't even know how long. There was no light, couldn't see a clock. Thought I was going to go crazy. Then they took me out. Started testing me.
Dr. Sjálf: Testing what? And what exactly did they drug you with?
SCP-HEIM: Your guess is as good as mine, but it worked good. Pretty sure it'd make a roofie look like Nyquil. And as for the testing…
SCP-HEIM: They said they wanted to cure me. I didn't know what they were curing at first, but when they dragged me out, I saw my foot. Looked like a rock taped to my leg, but I could still feel it. That…was something else. They dragged us in these creepy white chains, didn't feel like metal. They chained us up t-
Dr. Sjálf: I'm sorry, but you keep saying us.
SCP-HEIM: Yeah. I was number 6. Guess I'm luckier than 7 now.
Dr. Sjálf: What happened to the other 5?
SCP-HEIM: What d'ya think happened?
Silence for 15 seconds.
SCP-HEIM: I was the only one who made it. They had some weird ritual lookin' space.
