An instance of SCP-XXXX-1, in a state of minor disrepair
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Houses affected by SCP-XXXX are to be purchased and inhabitants administered amnestics [which class should I use?] and relocated, preferably within the town, under the guise of a structurally unsafe accommodation. Constant monitoring of town discussion topics and internet activity related to SCP-XXXX is required to contain any new SCP-XXXX instances.
Houses affected by SCP-XXXX are to be fenced off and embellished with construction paraphernalia to give the illusion that the property is undergoing renovations. Two (2) Foundation guards armed with Foundation issue ranged tasers and batons are to be positioned outside of SCP-XXXX affected houses disguised as construction workers at all times. In the situation of trespassing, guards are to escort trespassers off the premises with a warning. Repeat offenders are to be referred to the local authority. Guards are not permitted to use lethal force on trespassers.
Exploration and all other potential experiments are to be conducted only with the expressed written permission and supervision of a Level 3 or above researcher.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomaly that affects approximately .06% of households in the town of █████, Kent, England. SCP-XXXX only affects the bathrooms of affected homes, the rest of an affected house otherwise displays no anomalous properties. All bathrooms in a SCP-XXXX affected household will be affected, the size of the bathroom does not matter.
SCP-XXXX was discovered on ██/██/10 when ████████ Lettings Company reported having 3 empty properties with no recollection of any tenants despite having written records and documents regarding previous tenants. Anomaly gained Foundation attention when reported discrepancies reached 5 empty houses with small gaps in the populace, Foundation agents were sent to explore the properties. █ personnel were lost before the anomaly was determined and aforementioned containment procedures enacted. Since discovery 4 new SCP-XXXX affected houses have been identified and contained.
Entering an SCP-XXXX affected bathroom, henceforth referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, will not result in any immediate anomalous effects or events, however once the bathroom door of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance is fully closed with certain living entities inside (see Test Logs) said entity will vanish from the bathroom and the existence of the entity will be wiped from all memories, making testing tedious. Photographs, videos, written and digital information about a victim is not affected, however individuals who have memories of a victim wiped are incapable of being remembering the victim, even when provided visual stimuli or information about the victim. No method of witnessing this disappearance has been successful (see Test Log B). The vanishing of an entity within SCP-XXXX-1 will only occur once the bathroom door has been fully closed and is instantaneous. It is currently unknown whether victims of a SCP-XXXX-1 instance are translocated to a pocket/alternate dimension or simply erased from existence.
SCP-XXXX-1 instances are also seemingly impervious to all forms of intentional damage, no known tool or material has been able to damage any part of a SCP-XXXX-1 instance that is considered part of the bathroom, including the door(s), walls and pipework connected to a SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Windows within SCP-XXXX-1 instances are not able to be opened by any known means. SCP-XXXX-1 instances, however, are not impervious to natural structural damage such as damp or rusted pipes. Even when in a state of extreme disrepair SCP-XXXX-1 instances do not allow for intentional damage to take place, even under the context of repairs.
Test Requests:
-Testing permission regarding various living and deceased breeds of ███: pending denied.
- Testing permission regarding destruction of SCP-682: denied with vehemence due to the currently unknown qualities of of SCP-XXXX and the dangers of removing SCP-682 from containment.
- Testing permission regarding maggot infested ███ cadavers: pending.
- Testing permission regarding various foliage: pending.
Test A - Date: 12/05/11
Subject: D-4823, ██ years of age, Caucasian male. No notable psychological history.
Procedure: D-4823 equipped with one (1) shoulder mounted camera equipped with microphone, live video and audio feed observed by Level 3 researcher Dr. █. Busuttil and Level 2 researcher Prof. █. Jameson. Two (2) armed security personnel are also present. A physical or digital detailed plan of the experiment is to be present on all Foundation personnel present during the test in order to minimize confusion when memory of D-4823 is wiped. D-4823 is to enter the bathroom without knowledge of the anomaly.
Results: D-4823 willingly enters the bathroom, video and audio feed is normal. The instant the bathroom door was closed video feed cuts to black and audio feed emits no sound. Upon opening of bathroom door approx. 5 seconds after loss of video and audio feed the bathroom appears empty with no sign of D-4823 or Foundation equipment. All personnel present are extremely confused about the subject of the test, provided test plan is not able to remind personnel of D-4823's existence, only that he did exist and the part he played within the context of the test.
Analysis: Observation of a SCP-XXXX-1 instance from the inside with the door closed proves impossible. Individuals who have knowledge of a SCP-XXXX-1 victim wiped are incapable of remembering said victim, even if reminded after memory wipe has occurred. Researchers speculate either possible translocation to an alternate or pocket dimension or an anomaly that wipes living entities from existence. Further testing required.
Test B - Date: 29/05/11
Subjects: D-5210, ██ years of age, Caucasian female. History of psychological instability and minor violence. D-6092, ██ years of age, South African male. History of severe depression.
Procedure: Test is to be conducted in an SPC-XXXX-1 instance with a window that leads outside. Both D Class personnel are to enter the SCP-XXXX-1 instance together and bathroom door is to be opened as soon as possible after it has been closed. One Foundation standard video camera is to be placed on the floor outside of the door directed under the gap in the door of the SCP-XXXX-1 instance to attempt to observe disappearance of subjects. Level 2 researcher Dr. █. Ward is to also to directly observe under the door in case of equipment failure due to anomalous effects. Another camera is to be placed outside of the SCP-XXXX-1 instance's window. Window is frosted glass, subject's silhouettes are still perceivable through the window. No cameras or microphones are to be taken into the SCP-XXXX-1 instance.
Results: D-6092 enters the SCP-XXXX-1 instance willingly, D-5210 is reluctant and requires present security personnel to place her into the SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Bathroom door is closed while D-5210 audibly protests, once bathroom door is fully closed D-5210 is cut off mid sentence and is no longer heard. Bathroom door is opened roughly 0.7 seconds after it was initially closed revealing no trace of either D Class personnel. All camera footage is unable to perceive the disappearance and only shows footage after the bathroom door has been opened, as if footage has been edited. Level 2 researcher Dr. █. Ward is unable to recall what they saw when directly observing under the gap in the bathroom door.
Analysis: Observation of the disappearance of subjects within a SCP-XXXX-1 instance proves impossible. Prof. █. Jameson requests more testing in regard to other living creatures within SCP-XXXX-1. Dr. █. Busuttil approves request.
Test C - Date: 02/06/11
Subject: 4 common lab rats (rattus norvegicus domestica).
Procedure: The rats are to be placed in a cage inside of a SCP-XXXX-1 instance and the door closed to test if SCP-XXXX affects organisms other than humans.
Results: A scheduling issue resulted in this test taking place in an SCP-XXXX-1 instance in a state of extreme disrepair, other organisms such cockroaches and spiders are present in the SCP-XXXX-1 instance. They were not removed from the instance. All 4 rats are gone when bathroom door is opened, cage remains untouched. Memory of all 4 rats was still wiped. Notably, previously mentioned organisms are not affected and are still present, can be removed from the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 and display no anomalous properties. It is unknown how long these organisms have been present within this instance of SCP-XXXX-1.
Analysis: It seems that a SCP-XXXX-1 instance does not erase/translocate all living entities within. it is currently unknown whether this can be attributed to some kind of 'diet' or for other reasons. More testing required.
Test D - Date: 12/06/11
Subjects: 3 common house spiders colloquially known as daddy long legs (pholcus phalangioides) contained within a small plastic box, a small boxed colony of black carpenter ants (camponotus pennsylvanicus) and 3 oriental cockroaches (blatta orientalis) contained within a small plastic box.
Procedure: Identical to procedure for test C, all subjects are placed within the SCP-XXXX-1 instance together.
Results: All subjects are exactly as they were, and display no anomalous properties. Memories regarding subjects are unchanged.
Analysis: It seems that SCP-XXXX-1 instances do not erase/translocate all entities, specifically insects and arachnids. More extensive testing is required.
Addendum:
All testing with SCP-XXXX has been suspended until further notice after an incident caused by extremely unprofessional behavior from guards and researchers playing in and around an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 resulted in a casualty. Individuals involved are facing severe punishment.
