Dr Dott

I'm thinking of an SCP which is an anomalous containment chamber, don't know if it's a good idea or if it's been done before. Here's a really trashy quick idea draft I did in an hour. I'll edit more later.

Item #: SCP-4165

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: No non-anomalous subject may be enter into SCP-4165 for any reason.

SCP-4165 must be under constant surveillance at all times and allow no visitors in order to prevent the anomalous capabilities of SCP-4165 from manifesting.

Two guards of security clearance level 3 are to be stationed on either side of the door into SCP-4165 and are directed to forbid entry to anyone.

If a subject enters SCP-4165 and is not removed within a period of 14 minutes they will be declared KIA.

Description: SCP-4165 is a standard, windowless 16m by 16m by 16m containment chamber located on the third floor of Site-19. On the outer wall of SCP-4165 there is single door in and out of SCP-4165 with a 5m by 4m monitor beside it that displays nothing but static, as well as a speaker that remains muted until the anomalous capabilities of SCP-4165 manifest. There is also a camera located inside of SCP-4165 in the top right-hand corner of SCP-4165 adjacent to the door.

If a non-anomalous subject is within SCP-4165 for a period of 14 minutes or longer, the anomalous capabilities of SCP-4165 will manifest. Once occupied for 14 minutes by a non-anomalous subject the door in and out of SCP-4165 will seal, and the monitor will cease to display static. The new display will now read “CONTAINMENT OF SCP SUBJECT SUCCESSFUL” in black text overlayed on a live feed of the inside of SCP-4165. The speaker will then begin working and play live audio from inside SCP-4165. Once the subject dies, the doors will unseal and the monitor message will change to one that reads “ANOMALY NEUTRALIZED” in white text below the SCP Foundation logo on a black screen.

If another anomaly is brought within an 18 meter proximity of the entrance to SCP-4165 the door will seal and the screen will display the message “NON-ANOMALOUS SUBJECT TOO CLOSE, PLEASE BACK AWAY” in white text overlayed on a completely black screen. All attempts to place SCP subjects within SCP-4165 have failed thus far.

The material used to seal the door extends from the top of the doorway and was non-identifiable after multiple tests. It appears completely white, and has been confirmed to be anomalous. While multiple attempts have been made to destroy the material by Dr. Dott none have been able to even damage it as of now. The rest of SCP-4165 appears to be built out of the same white material and the Foundation is yet to find a way to damage it whatsoever, but because of Dr. Dott’s research attempts to destroy SCP-4165 have been currently put on hold.

There is currently investigation into the origin of SCP-4165, SCP-4165 has been discovered to not appear on any schematics for Site-19. No known record of its construction exists, but the investigation into this is ongoing.

Dr. Dott has theorized that SCP-4165 may come from an alternate Foundation in another reality where the non-anomalous and anomalous are reversed.

Document SCP-4165a: On December 14th, 2014 at 2:28 PM, MST, Dr. Ford entered SCP-4165. After exactly 14 minutes inside SCP-4165 the door sealed, trapping Dr. Ford within SCP-4165 (this was the event that elevated it to SCP status). Junior Researcher Dott was the first to notice the cries for help emanating from the speaker and quickly reported the incident. This recording was started by Dr. ████████ approximately one hour after Dr. Ford was trapped in SCP-4165.
[Dec 14, 3:48 PM] Hey, someone get this thing open right now! It’s not funny!

[Dr. Ford begins banging on the door heavily, this is picked up by the camera inside of SCP-4165]

[Dec 14, 3:50 PM] Anyone out there? I could use some help here!

[Dec 14, 3:59 PM] Okay guys, It’s getting really old right about now. Can you please let me out?

[Dr. Ford continues asking those who he presumes trapped him inside of SCP-4165 to allow him exit from SCP-4165 (which at the time was not known to be anomalous), then proceeds to fall asleep after approximately 5 hours.]

[Dec 15, 9:12 AM] I’m really hungry, at least I’ve got a water bottle with me…

[The sounds of people in the hall attempting to breach the door of SCP-4165 becomes too loud to hear anything for a few hours apart from Dr. Ford’s muffled sobs. The attempts cease after 9 hours of continuous testing.]

[Dec 15, 9:13 PM] Don’t let me starve in here, please! I don’t want to die, I’m only 53 for god’s sake!

[Dr. Ford continues complaining about his situation, while drinking water from his Foundation-issued water bottle every few hours. He defecates in the corner of SCP-4165 over the next few days, and begins drinking his own urine once the water in the water bottle runs out.]

[Dec 20, 6:54 AM] I had a dog, I kept her in my apartment before I took this job. Once I did, I had to give her to a shelter. I named her… Christine, no wait, Crystal. I was 26 back then, so young and filled with life. If Crystal was still with me right now I would…

[Dr. Ford pauses for a moment before continuing.]

[Dec 20, 6:55 AM] I’d eat her.

[Dr. Ford talks to himself for over 24 hours without sleep until the next day.]

[Dec 21, 8:30] I need more water… ran out 3 days ago. I’ve been drinking piss for what seems like forever. They said it was bad for me in medical school but It can’t be worse than dehydration, right? I’m so damn thirsty…

[On December 23, 2:14 AM, MST, Dr. Ford is pronounced dead due to dehydration. The door seal lifts, and the screen switches to the SCP Foundation logo with the words “ANOMALY NEUTRALIZED” in white on a black screen.]

Document SCP-4165b: Personal killed by SCP-4165

Name: Dr. Carl Ford
Age: 51 years, 223 days, 14 hours (deceased)
DOB: May 4th, 1963
Incident Date: December 14th, 2014
Incident Report: See Document SCP-4165a

Name: Dr. Julia Harth
Age: 29 years, 9 days, 23 hours (deceased)
DOB: June 1st, 1986
Incident Date: June 10th, 2015
Incident Report: During a containment breach Dr. Harth attempted to hide within SCP-4165, not knowing its anomalous properties. Once the breach subsided she attempted to leave, but was met with failure. She lasted approximately 5 days without any water or food.

Name: Junior Researcher John Franklin
Age: 26 years, 128 days, and 16 hours (deceased)
DOB: October 22nd, 1991
Incident Date: February 23, 2018
Incident Report: After being dared to stay inside SCP-4165 for 15 minutes by one of his superiors, Junior Researcher Franklin distracted the guards at the door and entered the room unnoticed. When he found himself unable to leave he unknowingly confirmed the identity of the superior who told him to enter SCP-4165. Junior Researcher Franklin lasted approximately 4 days without food and water. His superior as well as the guards were severely punished for failing at their duties to the Foundation, and his superior was given an immediate demotion.

Addendum 4165-A: Dr. Dott is currently working with Dr. Button in order to reverse the designations of non-anomalous and anomalous that SCP-4165 recognizes and thus create an extremely valuable thaumiel. Dr. Dott’s research is still ongoing.
