Item #: SCP-7622
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Designation SCP-7622 is to be housed on Site-██. SCP-7622 is to be stored in a plain cell with a balanced wooden step ladder with a height of at least a meter. Personal belongings of SCP-7622’s may be kept in a locker outside SCP-7622’s cell, and provided to SCP-7622 upon request.
As of case 7622-L, only personnel with Level 3 clearance are to answer any questions posed by SCP-7622 (See Experiment Log SCP-7622-21). SCP-7622 is to have two D-Class personnel posted at the cell door, ordered not to communicate in any way with SCP-7622. If possible mute D-Class personnel are ideal candidates, however it’s imperative that they be able to hear and convey SCP-7622’s requests to the researcher overseeing SCP-7622’s containment.
Description: SCP-7622 is a man with an apparent age of 80, however it claims to have been born in ████BCE. This age has become widely accepted by researchers having spent time overseeing his containment, as it displays an acutely correct knowledge of events that transpired within the times and places it claims to have been present. These include Ancient Sumeria, Ancient Greece, Rome, and London during the time of the bubonic plague. SCP-7622 claims to be a philosopher by the name of Nanna Mishnu. To date no records of a philosopher of that name have been found.
SCP-7622 enjoys conversation, however no questions asked by SCP-7622 are to be answered without the express goal of eliciting SCP-7622’s anomalous effect. When SCP-7622 asks a question it’s always posed in the form of a riddle. Solving the riddle often requires an ambiguous response so as to leave room for other potential answers, however it must be phrased in a manner that answers the question. The now accepted format for such an answer is, “a/an [ANSWER] might suffice.” (See Interview 7622-6) Failure to answer in this manner has resulted in many casualties and several fatalities. In all cases of sustained injury, the injury has been permanent, incurable by natural tissue regeneration or application of medicine. Requests have been sent to consider an anomalous cure to these afflictions, however no response has yet been received. If the question is ignored, or not answered to SCP-7622’s satisfaction, they will continue asking that question until it is answered correctly. It is possible to carry out a conversation with SCP-7622 without answering the question, however to access SCP-7622’s anomalous capabilities, the question must be answered to SCP-7622’s satisfaction.
When SCP-7622’s questions are not answered to its satisfaction, various injuries occur. If the question was answered incorrectly, the victim will suffer a physical injury, ranging from minor burns and superficial cuts, to serious lacerations and sometimes complete disembowelment. If the question was answered correctly but was not given the ambiguous quality that SCP-7622 seems to require, various mental illnesses will be inflicted on the victim. These are commonly much less severe than the physical injuries, often manifesting as light insomnia or attention deficit disorder. However, in one case a D-Class personnel received depression so severe that it caused their eventual death.
When SCP-7622’s question is answered to its satisfaction, it will begin to sculpt. These sculptures have been designated SCP-7622-2 It is not known how SCP-7622 produces the granite for it’s sculptures, however it’s been suggested that it may have access to SCP- ███’s ██████ or similar pocket dimensions. The SCP-7622-2’s produced by SCP-7622 depict anomalous entities, several of which have been brought into containment by the SCP Foundation. On the pedestal that supports the rest of the SCP-7622-2’s weight, SCP-7622 carves both the coordinates as well as the date that the anomalous entity will be present. All attempts to capture the anomalous entities before the date present on the pedestal have resulted in failure.
Upon containment and a proximity of approximately 7.7 kilometers to the anomalous entity, SCP-7622-2’s have been observed to mimic the movements of the anomalous entities they depict, even changing their appearance entirely when depicting entities with shape shifting qualities. Due to this quality of SCP-7622-2, additional cameras have been installed to observe in order to be utilized as a resource for potential containment breaches.
SCP-7622 has been known to make requests for additional furnishings and luxuries to its containment cell, occasionally becoming irritable if these are not met, resulting in more complex questions being asked. The requests made as of ██/██/████ as well as SCP-7622’s explanation as to their use are provided below:
