Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a high-value item vault in Site-19. Dr. Alto Clef must accompany the item while it's not in containment at all times, due to his immunity to the item's effects.
Dr. Alto Clef is the item's designated handler and no other individuals are to come into contact with SCP-XXXX outside of testing.
As of Incident SCP-XXXX-AE1: During testing, all non D-Class personnel must observe type-2 perceptive hazard protocols. Dr. Clef is exempt from this procedure.
Note: SCP-XXXX should not be used outside a testing environment, since the item is very difficult to use safely. - Dr. █████
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 1980 vintage polaroid camera found in Joseph Stalin's desk immediately after his death in 1953 by an undercover GOC agent, who was detained by foundation personnel in Warsaw while they were attempting to transport the item to the GOC west Berlin office.
When SCP-XXXX is used and subsequently captures a photo of the facial features of any individual within its line of sight, the captured individual immediately disappears from reality. Additionally, any first-hand written accounts, images, or memories of affected individuals will either disappear or be heavily censored and redacted. However, any second-hand written accounts, images, or memories, are unaffected by the item.

Addendum: Incident SCP-XXXX-AE1
On the 9th of September 1982, a testing incident resulted in a reflective surface in the testing room spreading SCP-XXXX's effects to researchers and support staff, including Dr. █████ who was overseeing the test.
Due to much of the information pertaining to SCP-XXXX at the time having been written by Dr. █████, information on SCP-XXXX's nature was temporarily lost, and the item was mistaken for a visually similar item in the possession of Dr. ██████████ at the time. The Doctor subsequently left the site on long leave.
Dr. ██████████ proceeded to unknowingly use SCP-XXXX in a crowded population center, killing at least 31 individuals. Dr. ██████████ was the subject of an Article AF hearing, and was tried for negligence of duty, and 31 accounts of manslaughter. More details on their trial are available. They were found innocent and given mandatory leave and 6 months of phycological evaluation.
Dr. ██████████ committed suicide 4 days after the trial.

Prosecution: Article AF Trial-458. This is the Article AF hearing for Dr. ██████████ who, on the 9th of September 1982 was responsible for a containment breach resulting in the death of 31 civilians. Prosecution believes this was due to severe negligence of duty, and as a result, Dr. ██████████ has violated Article-C, clauses 2 through 5, along with a serious containment procedure violation. The incident also cost the foundation approximately $██████ USD in amnestics and coverup schemes. Prosecution believes that the defendant be relieved of duty and administered Class-A Amnestics.
Defendant's Attorney: Defendant does not deny the results of the events of Incident SCP-XXXX-AE1. Defendant believes that they were not complicit or aware of the containment breach until after the incident. Defendant believes that the Special Containment Procedures placed on SCP-XXXX were inadequate and resulted in SCP-XXXX's anti-memetic properties expunging the majority of information concerning itself. Defendant believes that the defendant should be granted a week of mandatory leave and 6 months of phycological evaluation due to trauma.
Prosecution: Your honor, in the defendant's testimony, they recount how they violated basic containment protocol by accessing an active testing chamber and retrieving an unidentified item. as we all know, basic containment procedure is standardized and wholly separate from any special containment procedures. Failure to observe basic protocol is a Class-3 violation.
Defendant's Attorney: Correction; basic containment procedures regarding Safe class objects do not contain any handling protocols. The defendant did not violate protocol.
Prosecution: Can someone check that?
Defendant's Attorney: Additionally, it is the defendant's belief that the late Dr. █████ was responsible for the breach, due to his inadequate Special Containment Procedures. Under Article-S section-4: 'Any item capable of exhibiting anti-memetic properties must be assigned handling procedures and anti-meme containment breach contingencies.'
Judge: Defendant, Can you provide a copy of the old Special Containment Procedures for review?
Defendant's Attorney: Yes your honor.
Judge: We will adjourn while the Judiciary reviews the outdated Special Containment Procedures for Article-S violations.
Closing Statements: After the Judiciary reconvened, they found the outdated Special Containment Procedures contained 2 instances of an Article-S violation. Dr. ██████████ was granted a week of mandatory leave and 6 months of phycological evaluation due to trauma.
