Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded by a 3 meter electrical fence around its entire perimeter and have a 1 kilometer quarantine patrolled by guards. No personnel with a clearance Level-2 or higher are allowed in SCP-XXXX at any time.

Personnel are to be restrained with their hands behind their back when entering SCP-XXXX and are not allowed to handle dangerous objects.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a plot of farmland approximately 2000 m2 with an aged wooden windmill and a small wooden sleeping shack. SCP-XXXX is located south of ██████████, France. SCP-XXXX-1, a humanoid entity resembling a mid-nineteenth century farmer named Hugo Ganges, resides in SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 usually will stay inside it's shack but occasionally will come outside if someone enters SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 can only be affected physically by damage inflicted upon itself, which SCP-XXXX-1 will do by committing suicide. Once this occurs a pack of wild rats known as SCP-XXXX-2 will appear, surrounding SCP-XXXX-1's corpse. SCP-XXXX-2 will eat all of SCP-XXXX-1's flesh, leaving only SCP-XXXX-1's skeleton. SCP-XXXX-1 will commit suicide approximately every month though there is no apparent pattern to it's deaths.

Roughly two days after SCP-XXXX-2 appears SCP-XXXX-1's skeleton will be absorbed into SCP-XXXX through the earth. Two weeks after SCP-XXXX-1's death SCP-XXXX's windmill will spin, regardless of wind or weather, and cause SCP-XXXX-1 to reform and emerge from the earth. SCP-XXXX-1 will be fully conscious.

All personnel terminated within SCP-XXXX are known as SCP-XXXX-1A and so forth. SCP-XXXX-1A was a D-Class personnel who had died in SCP-XXXX and was reformed. SCP-XXXX-1A usually sits on or under the windmill in SCP-XXXX and commits suicide approximately every week.

Addendum 1: Documents and scripts have been found in the nearby village that reference a Celtic god named Cernunnos. When subjects that do not worship the Cernunnos enter SCP-XXXX, they will begin experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations. Subjects report hearing voices from the ground and wind as well as squeaks from rats and other unidentifiable noises. These effects intensify the longer subjects stay in SCP-XXXX. Subjects then begin to believe that a entity named Cernunnos is commanding them to kill themselves.

Addendum 2: SCP-XXXX-1 and 1A's time between suicides has been growing longer the more time they spend in SCP-XXXX-1. It is speculated this is because they are becoming increasingly acclimated to SCP-XXXX-1.

Excerpt from neighboring farmers journal

Cursed be the farmer in the south.

His heart no longer for our gods, turned by the Christians.

Cernunnos calls for retribution!

His god hates the act of self-destruction, let him steal his own life!

The the rats of the forests forage his body, leaving only white!

Fire is his destination, let his god take him there.

Let it be done, Cernunnos.

Excerpt from preachers diary

The farmer, Hugo, had been converted!

But, he took his own life only days later.

I bless him… though he took his own life he spread our gods word!

God, may he be redeemed.

I know the heathens that lived near him caused his death!

May you bless him with a second chance.

Let him prove to you his faith, I know it is strong!

If the heathens and their gods spite him, more opportunity is needed!

I believe this man is a true christian, one of a few.

Do no forsake him and send his soul to burn!

I beg of you.
