Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX are to be left alone, sanctioning the area around their residence as protected lands or restricted property. Dormant or dead instances of SCP-XXXX as of this moment pose no threat and access to them will be permitted through the land they reside on will be sanctioned as protected so as to avoid degradation of the stone surrounding said instances.

Description: SCP-XXXX are an unknown amount of large Emoia impar, Cryptoblepharus poecilopleurus, and Lipinia noctua commonly referred to as Copper Striped Blue-tailed Skinks, Oceanic Snake-eyed Skinks, and Moth Skinks. SCP-XXXX vary in size from roughly 7 to 14 meters and have the ability to change their appearance, size, and species. They are highly intelligent and can speak human languages (though many only know Hawaiian.) SCP-XXXX are also particularly durable, being able to withstand 7.62 NATO rounds whilst only sustaining very minor damage. Dead or dormant instances of SCP-XXXX are encased in stone and many locals still occasionally pray and bring offerings to them, referring to SCP-XXXX as a whole as mo'o¹.

It is not known exactly how SCP-XXXX originated though it is said that they came from "Kahiki" or Tahiti, though this definition can be interpreted differently as Kahiki is also the supposed home of Hawaiian gods in Hawaiian mythology. Hawaiian stories say that a powerful instance of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1A or Mo'oinanea migrated, along with other instances of SCP-XXXX, to the Hawaiian Islands. Mo'oinanea settled in the valley of Nu'uanu and had the other SCP-XXXX spread across the islands. When Foundation personnel traveled to the locations stated in the story evidence of SCP-XXXX was found. The Foundation now considers these stories as real information on SCP-XXXX and their origin.

+ Discovery

Event: After research by Foundation personnel on the existence of SCP-XXXX a small recon and research squad consisting of 2 scientists and 3 MTF are sent to Moku'ula fishpond on Maui. They are there to investigate the existence of SCP-XXXX, specifically that of SCP-XXXX-1B or Kihawahine. After arriving the squad enters a cave near the location said to house SCP-XXXX-1B. After a quick 5 minute search, they are disrupted when a noise is heard. They investigate and find a young Hawaiian woman wandering around in the cave when approached she seemed startled but quickly became relieved. She says she was lost and believes that the recon team is there to save her. The MTF are wary but one of the scientists has them take her outside and they are instructed to administer a class 1 amnesiac to the women when they reach the entrance to the cave. As they advance they reach a bottleneck and the women stop in front of it. The MTF is suspicious and begins raising their weapons but before they can do so the women morph into an 8-meter lizard and begin attacking the squad. They try to escape but the lizard, later identified as SCP-XXXX-1B was blocking the entrance. The MTF guards distract the SCP long enough for Lead Researcher Alohi to escape, the rest are eaten by SCP-XXXX-1B. SCP-XXXX-1B exits the cave and Lead Researcher Alohi enters radio silence after sending a distress signal.

Foreword: After the Moku'ula incident an MTF unit, "Island Hoppers" was sent to find Lead Researcher Alohi and discover the whereabouts of SCP-XXXX-1B.

Cpt. Kimo: Okay, fan out. Were going to follow SCP-XXXX-1B's trail. If you find Dr. Alohi contact me immediately! Is that clear!
Squad: Sir, yes sir!
The S&R squad spreads out and begins the search, 20 minutes pass
Lt. Cook Sir, I found something.
Cpt. Kimo: What is it?
Lt. Cook: Blood. It looks like Dr. Alohi may have run this way.
Cpt Kimo: Pursue the trail. All units follow Cook, I repeat, all units follow Cook.
After 10 minutes of following the trail they come across a large depression into which Dr. Alohi's trail leads. The squad enters the depression, fanning out as they do so.
Lt. Cook: I think I found her! She's behind the rock.
Cpt. Kimo: Secure the doctor.
Lt. Cook secures Dr. Alohi, hoisting her over his back
Cpt. Kimo: Let's get out of here.
Dr. Alohi: *grunt* It's too late.
Soldier 001: What?
Dr. Alohi: It knows now.
Cpt. Kimo: Doctor… What did you say to it?
Dr. Alohi: *sob* I'm sorry.

Afterword: After interrogation it was found that SCP-XXXX-1B had tortured Dr. Alohi into giving sensitive information about the Foundation and current events. The whereabouts of SCP-XXXX-1B are still unknown and more search parties have been sent. All units have been ordered to terminate SCP-XXXX-1B on site. Dr. Alohi will be reprimanded for leaking information but continue leading the project due to his experience with SCP-XXXX (with strict supervision and restriction).

+ Cornered

Event: Roughly one day after the events of Dr. Alohi's rescue SCP-XXXX-1B was sighted entering Nu'uanu valley. It is not known how SCP-XXXX-1B traveled to O'ahu but research suggests it swam. Island Hoppers were sent but SCP-XXXX-1B's trail was lost early on into the valley. They have been stationed around SCP-XXXX-1A's residence and have orders to terminate SCP-XXXX-1A (and 1B if spotted) on site.

The MTF squads have begun converging on the residence.

Cpt: 03 & 04, move in. I'll cover you. 05 & 06, advance as well. 07, take up a sniper position. 01 & 02, hold positions. This thing is going down.
Squad: Roger.
03 & 04 close in on objective and hide behind a slope
Cpt. Kimo: Ready… Engage.
03 & 04 crest the slope and fire a few rounds at the target, pausing right after
03: Fuck! Captain, it's not here.
Bodycam footage shows a large lizard tail, presumably detached from SCP-XXXX-1B, with no signs of SCP-XXXX-1B in the area
