Special Containmet Procedures:
SCP-8674 must be kept in a three hectare area looking like a forest. small and medium sized mammals must be roaming constantly to keep the creature satisfied.
Staff may only enter the forest during day with an exceptionally sized mouse/rat/fox. Staff must then meditate for three hours to be sure that the SCP is done eating. After they may treat the SCP very carefully not to upset it.
Any staff member finishing meditation before the creature is done devouring must be knocked unconscious immediately or face the consequences.
Description: SCP-8674 resembles an owl.it stands approximately 1.5 meters high.The creature has a throat which is a straight tube 10cm in radius but can stretch up to unknowncm
Creature can adjust its size according to prey but instances of it going below 1.1 are unknown
inside the throat is its spine which is curled to resemble a vortex. Rest of the owl is muscle tissue.
The owl first immobilizes the prey by breaking their legs and placing them in its mouth, the preys shoulders barely stop the prey from sliding into the creature. After this they slide in the mouth in a twisting motion. Preys every bone is broken some even vaporized. The process resembles many blenders working and turning the prey into a flesh smoothie.
After defecating SCP-8674 turns the waste into bait. Referred to as SCP-8674-a the "bait" seems to have mind reading capabilities, often taking form of something most desired by the viewer.
SCP-8674-a sometimes brakes the legs itself and then turns dormant until the neutralized prey is picked up by SCP-8674
SCP-8674-a seems to generate a highly toxic chemical which is referred to as SCP-8674-b.
if one were to come in contact with it the chem would become very sticky and hard. then it would find the weakest point in the touching area and penetrate it until it found bloodflow after which it would find the shortest path to the knee. it would harden it to the point that it would break with the force of the body pushing down.
The SCP-8674 was found in 3 oak and 4 Birch forests although we might have one instance in classified forest
One oak and one birch type were kept alive. rest were incinerated.
