Special Containment Procedures: SCP-NUMBER is to be stored at site 14 in its locked container at all time. A maximum of sixteen (16) hours of use is allowed, longer usage can lead to radiation exposure exceeding safe levels. Over twenty-four (24) hours will cause a higher chance of cancer and over seventy-two (72) can lead to radiation poison and death.

Description: SCP-NUMBER is a green emerald with a weight of 6 g and diameter of 5.5 cm with a dark-green oval in the middle which no matter the angle or perspective is always facing the viewer. SCP-NUMBER is perfectly circular and attempts to find any irregularities has gone beyond traditional measurements. When exposed to any living tissue to any living creature will prevent them from dying no matter what circumstances they are exposed to. The creature itself is also unable to lose consciousness even when they physically shouldn’t be able to such as restricting blood to the brain or suffocation. Already unconsciousness and dead creatures do not react to SCP-NUMBER’s anomalous behaviour. Removing SCP-NUMBER from the host will cause it to emit γ-radiation for 8.5 seconds and then become docile once again. Depending on how long it was in possession of a host the more intense it becomes during release.
After being in possession of a host for more than ninety-six (96) hour SCP-NUMBER will begin to drill itself into the host where it is in contact with. The host neither feels pain or is alarmed at this revelation, regardless of the host's whereabouts of SCP-NUMBER's anomalous behaviour. It will continue until it has been completely buried.

SCP-NUMBER was recovered 199█-█-██ in █████ when an Emerald mine collapsed killing everyone inside. A proximity forty (40) hours later a ██████ named ████ ███ emerged from the mine with ██ lower half missing with SCP-NUMBER in ██ possession, ██ died shortly after the removal of SCP-NUMBER.

Damage to heart

Addendum-NUMBER-1: D-11776 is a 32-year-old man of above average height and below average weight in for multiple homicides and pyromania. D-11776 was prompted to hold onto SCP-NUMBER and never let go of no matter what happens. Research led by Dr. Smitersson.

Day 1

D-11776 was then shot in the chest and had the bullet exited the back.

D-11776 was just shot in the heart with SCP-NUMBER in his right hand, he is screaming and is losing a lot of blood and should bleed out at this rate within the hour. But a destroyed heart would have killed him anyway.

D-11776 has managed to sit upright in his cell and has repeatably asked for water, he is extremely pale and is covered in his own blood. With such a devastating wound and loss of blood, he shouldn’t be alive or conscious for that matter. I have requested to give D-11776 a bottle of water to keep him talking.

Assistant Rigby entered the cell to give D-11776 water.

D-11776’s condition does not appear to worsen, but he is not getting better either. I have requested a termination of the test and give him proper medical treatment.

D-11776 was moved out of the cell and to the infirmary. He managed to walk by himself with little assistants.

D-11776’s heart appear to still be flat lined and has a lot of internal damage from the bullet. He is given pain-killers to ease the pain as anesthesia has proven fruit-less.

Day 2

D-11776 had been unable to sleep due to SCP-NUMBER but didn’t feel sleep deprived. The wound has already begun to heal which would imply that SCP-NUMBER gives moderate healing benefits.

Day 8

D-11776’s heart has finally been revived after multiple defibrillation attempts, SCP-NUMBER is going to be reacquired from D-11776.

D-11776 refused to give away SCP-NUMBER and had to be taken away by force. But when personnel had managed to open D-11776’s hand SCP-NUMBER had sunken into his hand and was beneath the skin.

An new anomalous behavior from SCP-NUMBER has been discovered; SCP-NUMBER has drilled itself 12 mm into D-11776’s hand. When D-11776 was questioned about this he had nothing to tell about this.

Day 9

D-11776 was strapped down with his hand exposed for removal of SCP-NUMBER. D-11776 was given general anaesthesia to keep him from moving too much.

Beginning extraction of SCP-NUMBER from D-11776.

SCP-NUMBER was harder to remove than anticipated but after five (5) minutes SCP-NUMBER was removed. When no longer in contact with D-11776 SCP-NUMBER begun emitting Cherenkov glow which bathed personnel in the room with a lethal amount of γ-radiation. The autopsy report of D-11776 showed he died from cardiac arrest and not from radiation.

It was like a second sun in there. I am well aware I probably won't survive the night, but I have to say; it was beautiful nonetheless, *pause*. Eye of Undying, suitable, only left nine men dead.

Damage to lungs

Addendum-NUMBER-2: D-23561 is a 23-year-old woman in for the extremely gruesome murder of her parents and younger sibling.
Due to the recent discovery of SCP-NUMBER's (see Addendum-NUMBER-1) behaviour, a maximum of 48 hours of use has been placed.
D-23561 was placed inside of an air-tight cell and was prompted to hold on to SCP-NUMBER no matter what happens.

Damage to brain

Addendum-NUMBER-3: D-98122 is a 50-year-old man in for rape and murder of fourteen (14) recorded female victims.
D-98122 was strapped on to a chair with a 40 kg weight welded to it with two (2) chains connected to a motor in the roof. SCP-NUMBER was placed in D-98122 left hand and then skin-tight leather glove prohibiting opening of the hand.
