SCP-"The Firetruck"
Item #: SCP-
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP- must be contained at all times inside a 6’6’6’ anomalous item containment cell at Site 37-b unless if specified otherwise. The object should be kept hoisted in mid air with steel cables securely fastened to it’s axles, and with boots attached to it’s wheels to prevent movement. Cables and boots should be changed every two weeks, as the object has proven capable of breaking or significantly disabling their intended functions. The cell walls must be constructed of a material that is significantly resistant to ramming and water/moisture damage. All walls in site 37-b must be coated with moisture resistant paint to help deter any damage SCP-may cause. SCP-’S containment cell is also to be outfitted with a drainage system in the center of the containment cell in case SCP- attempts to breach containment through the use of flooding it’s containment area with any liquid it disperses.
In the event of a flame being lit anywhere within 100 kilometers of SCP-’s location, SCP- should be distracted using Self Re-igniting flames being repeatedly lit in its containment area. This method should only be used for a maximum of 2 hours, as SCP- has shown to be capable of extinguishing even the most persistent of re-igniting flames over enough time, or even destroying them entirely. The object must not be taken out of containment unless for testing and due to SCP-’s tendency to breach containment, 20 guards with portable fire starters and standard containment training are to be stationed outside and around its containment area. Guards are to be on site 24 hours a day, with different shifts being taken at 3 points each day.
In the event of a containment breach, the object is to be tracked down and distracted using (if not another method is proposed, tested, and confirmed to be more effective) a magnesium flare which should be shown in the direction of its containment area. If all goes well, SCP- will be distracted in an attempt to extinguish the flame outputted by the flare. Through the use of numerous flares, SCP- should be returned to and secured in its containment cell. In the event of a major fire throughout Site 37-b, SCP- is to be released from containment remotely and allowed to extinguish all unwanted fires in the building. After all fires have been extinguished, precautions must be taken to insure that SCP- returns to its containment cell and does not attempt to leave Site 37-b. It is recommended to all personnel working at Site 37-b not to cause any prolonged fires that would alert SCP- if not extinguished in a timely manner. Failure to comply may result in a containment breach.
Description: SCP- is a 2 feet by 3 feet large red firetruck fountain of the same make and model of those made by the [REDACTED] company in 19[REDACTED]. SCP- is coated in red and white paint, and a thin layer of rust. Testing of SCP- has determined that is made of iron and tin, it’s bell is made of copper, and the rubber on its wheels are unusually firm. It appears to have sustained damage and wear before coming into foundation custody, but has not shown any more signs of additional damage since, and thus is theorized to be indestructible. It has two metal tubes attached to its sides that spray water into its basin at all times, and an electrical cable attached to its pump. This does not need to be plugged in for SCP- to activate, and plugging it in to a power source will not make a difference in the actions or behavior of SCP-. Testing of SCP- Has shown no power source and no source of the fluid dispensed by the object.
SCP-’s secondary anomalous affects manifest when any fire bigger than 1 cm in size is lit anywhere within 300 kilometers of SCP-. If this occurs, SCP- will attempt to breach containment by ramming into the walls of its chamber until they break, or the fire is extinguished by another source. However, the further away the fire is from SCP-, the less rapidly it seeks it out, which may give time for the fire to be extinguished through other means. The repeated ramming does not damage SCP-. It has shown to, at other times, spray large amounts of pressurized fluids at the walls of its containment area in an attempt to erode them, but has had limited success. If SCP- is successful in breaching containment, it will rush over to the fire usually while ringing its bell loudly, breaking through or speeding by anything in its way, and attempt to extinguish the flames. It has shown to be capable of shooting water, all known types of fire extinguisher fluid, high pressure blasts of a powder similar to baking soda, Sand, and an unknown yellow jelly-like extinguishing liquid. Through testing, it has shown to be able to cause power outages through unknown means in the event of an electrical fire. Due to its nature, SCP- poses a major threat to security and confidentiality, but is relatively easy to distract, as it will attempt to extinguish the fires nearest to it, more often that the largest ones.
Despite the challenge of containing SCP-, it has been shown to be very useful in extinguishing unwanted fires. SCP- was found in the year 2011 by agents implanted in the [REDACTED] county police department, after claims of incidents regarding a “real” toy fire truck were proven to be legitimate. After being baited into a foundation mobile storage unit using flares and small fires, SCP- was contained, and classified as Euclid. It is currently unknown if SCP-4 is sentient.
Test 1
A Class A flame was ignited by match 10 meters away from SCP-. SCP- immediately sped to the fire, dousing it with water and extinguishing the flame. Test concluded.
Test 2
A Class B fire was ignited 10 meters away from SCP- using gasoline and a lighter. The object sprayed the flame with a foam fire extinguisher fluid. Test concluded.
Test 3
A Class C gas fire was ignited 10 meters away from SCP-. The object was able to put out the fire using carbon dioxide fire extinguisher fluid. Test concluded.
Test 4
A Class D flammable metal fire was lit 10 meters away from SCP- using a mixture of magnesium and titanium. SCP- sped to the fire, but appeared to stall for 4 seconds. It then shot a large amount of sand and a powder later discovered to be similar in composition to baking soda. The fire snuffed out after 30 seconds. Test concluded.
Test 5
A Class “E” electrical fire was started 10 meters away from SCP-. SCP- shot the fire with C02 based fire extinguisher fluid and extinguished the flame. Test concluded.
Test 6
A Class F fire was ignited using animal and vegetable fat 10 meters from SCP-. The Object shot a wet chemical fluid at the fire and extinguished it. Examination showed that the fire had been extinguished through the process of saponification caused by the chemical’s reaction to the fat. Test concluded.
Test 7
SCP-4137 was presented with a picture of a fire printed on a standard piece of printer paper. The object shook once, but was otherwise unresponsive.
Test 8
A Class G anomalous flame was lit using SCP-[redacted] 10 meters from SCP-. SCP- initially sprayed the flame with water, but due to the flames anomalous nature, it did not go out. SCP- hesitated for roughly 25 seconds before shooting a stream of yellow gelatin-like liquid at the fire, extinguishing it. This fluid was recovered and is currently under study. Test Concluded.
Test 9
A book of matches, a lighter, and a can of gasoline were locked in a testing chamber with SCP-. The object began to slowly move around the provided material before swiftly shooting it with a high pressure blast of water, destroying it.
Addendum-1
Perhaps SCP- has an innate sense which allows it to tell if an item has potential to cause a fire.
-Dr. Hoam
Test 10
Two Class A fires were lit, one 20 meters North from SCP- and one 30 meters South from it. SCP- sped to the fire 20 meters away and extinguished it with water and then quickly drove itself to the second fire, now 50 meters away, and extinguished it with water as well. Test concluded.
Addendum-2
Through this test we’ve proven SCP- will put out the fire closest to it first, not the fire which poses the most threat of immolation or damage.
-Dr. Brick
Test 11
A small class A fire was lit using paper and quickly placed on top of SCP-. The object appeared to be distressed, speeding around whale spraying water at the flames. When it eventually extinguished the fire, it kept spraying water. It is theorized that it did this out of fear of additional flames, and that SCP-, despite it’s properties, may itself be mildly afraid of fires.
Incident XXXX-1
On June 24, 2012, A major fire occurred in site 37-b’s cafeteria. In an act of desperation, SCP- was released from containment and extinguished the fire in roughly 2 minutes. Following This, SCP- attempted to leave Site 37-b, but was re-contained using flares per normal re-containment procedures.
