Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP(number) is to be kept in a walled in section of forestland at Site ##. No firearms are to be brought within view of any instances of SCP(number). Any attempt at escape, though highly unlikely, is to be met with non-lethal force such as rubber bullets or tasers. Use of firearms is only permitted in the case of full containment breach.
Description: SCP(number) consists of four separate entities, designated SCP(number)-a through SCP(number)-b. They appear to be of the species Rocky Mountain Elk up to the neck, at which point an exposed spine emerges to connect to a human torso. This human torso has the skull of an elk in place of a head, with a large rack of antlers connected. The torso and body are attached only by the spine, connective nerves and large blood vessels. The torso itself appears to be supernaturally suspended in the air by unknown means, as there is no muscle structure suggesting autonomous support would be possible. SCP(number) are of average human intelligence and appear to speak fluent English, as well as many Native American languages.
SCP(number)-a and SCP(number)-b were discovered caged in a laboratory after reports of a wendigo-like creature roaming the forests around the Great Lakes were recieved from [REDACTED], Michigan. During the recovery of SCP(number) a man dressed in a white, bloodstained lab coat was shot and killed. A journal was found on his corpse by recovery teams detailing the creation of SCP(number), as well as ramblings that were later determined to be incoherent and untranslatable. (See addendum A)
SCP(number)-c and SCP(number)-d were found in the forest surrounding the laboratory. SCP(number)-c appeared to be in great distress, weeping over the corpse of SCP(number)-d. SCP(number)-d had been killed by a gunshot wound, which had pierced the chest of the elk body. Upon seeing recovery teams, SCP(number)-c communicated that he had no desire to resist capture, and requested that he be reunited with his brothers.
Outline begins here
Dr. [REDACTED] created them to protect the forests from being industrialized. He was killed by SCP(number)-c when it escaped with SCP(number)-d.
Never got around to doing their intended purpose, and in fact quite welcome the presence of humans and engage in intelligent conversation
Quite happy to be safe at the facility from hunters
More details I need to remember
The doctor himself is unknown, but it will be gleaned from his journal that he was a part of a cult that focused primarily on the worship of Asintmah, a Native-American origin goddess of nature and earth. According to that mythology, she was also the first woman to walk the earth. He eventually went a little too crazy for the cult, and was thrown out to live on his own in the middle of the forest. He made himself a makeshift lab, and carried on his rituals there on his own. His journal will also detail that due to extreme stress and mental illness, he begins to suffer from impotence. He views this as a curse from Asintmah. His logic is that if he displeased her, then she must have afflicted him with this condition to show him he is unable to please any woman. So he decides he must appease her by gifting her an offering, but since she is the goddess of nature, his conclusion is that he must not kill anything in the offering. His best plan is to make guardians. He kidnaps 4 brothers and captures 4 elk, and although somewhat crude in attachment, he manages to surgically stitch them together. He conducted a ritual over them and after all the torture is said and done, the sutures split and whatever "power" he wanted to give them is embedded. However, he is absolutely bonkers at this point, and so obviously hes gonna forget something in the ritual or its going to go wrong in some way, and instead of the brothers being fully converted they end up just being… abominations.
