Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5248 is to be kept in a standard thin rectangle padded metal crate. no unauthorized personnel lower then security clearance level 3 are permitted access for testing purposes. 2 armed guards must always be in the premises.
Description: SCP-5248 first appears to be a ordinary mirror, until subject walks near. Once a living subject is at least 1 meter away from the mirror there reflection will vanish. This has the same effect when exposing the mirror to animals. The other anomalies ability with this mirror is when a living subject touches the mirror that part of that body part will appear to be in the mirror. If the body part is in any other observing subjects vision they will see that part appear in the mirror as well. If living subject is completely in mirror they will seem to appear where they just were. Everything in the room they enter into will be the same as it was in the normal world.
Observers from the outside of mirror will be able to see the subject in the mirror. The subject in the mirror will be able to see the observers on the outside of the mirror. There is still no reflection visible from any observers. When subject is in mirror they are able to leave if a rope was attached to them prior to going in so they are able to get pulled out. Footage has proved that if no rope is attached to the subject they are unable to leave. Audio and camera footage can still be transmitted when someone is in the mirror.
If the subject is in the mirror for 10 minutes a black void will appear around the outer edge where the mirror does not show. When the void appears the subject start to feel as if something is watching them. When the subject is in the mirror for 20 minutes they will start hearing sounds, audio recordings have not been able to hear the noises. When asked to describe the noise all subjects have the same response, they say it sounds like growling. Nothing new happens after those 2 events. Only that the subject starts getting more paranoid.
Discovery: SCP-5248 was discovered in a warehouse in Wisconsin.
