Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Safe

Agent ████ Newbark wearing SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX did not activate.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in an adult wardrobe in Site-███ with a minimum of 2 armed guards stationed on the same floor. The wardrobe should be customized to have glass doors for safe visual monitoring. SCP-XXXX should not be removed from the previously mentioned wardrobe without authorization of at least one individual with level 3 level 4 clearance.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a blue, adult sized cape first found in ████████, Netherlands at 194█. The object was first made known to the Foundation upon reports of "capped man" stopping a bank robbery before dying of a heart attack. What made this specific event gain Foundation interest is the man's surprising youth, lack of physical experience within fighting environments despite good health, reports of bullets failing to penetrate his skin. Interestingly the man, later identified as a Joseph ██████████ showed no signs of suspicious behavior, anomalous nature, or involvement with known Groups of Interest. SCP-XXXX and Joseph's remains were taken by field agents for further studies. A personal journal from Joseph was found on his person, and suggested he received the item from the will of a departed friend, with instructions on how to use the item. A search of his residence showed no such instructions, nor was anything connecting him to a will found on any public or private records accessible to the Foundation at this time. Researchers eventually determined that SCP-XXXX, the cape, only activates upon the individual wearing it detecting a general threat to others in their environment. Upon this threat being discovered, SCP-XXXX will immediately activate, and the individual wearing SCP-XXXX upon its activation is therefore known to the Foundation as an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. The SCP-XXXX-2 instance will change in personality to fit a general description of a "superhero" in physical abilities and in mental thought process, then neutralize or otherwise lessen the danger in the environment, alternatively saving all involved if the former possibilities are shown to be impossible. What SCP-XXXX determines as "danger" is still being explored, but commonly follows the guidelines of an event that can risk the life or extreme physical harm of one or more humans, though this has not always been the case. SCP-XXXX-2 has shown improvements in physical abilities despite no observable changes to their physical form. immediately at the conclusion of a dangerous scenario SCP-XXXX-2 will attempt to leave the environment and remove SCP-XXXX. Upon removal of SCP-XXXX, the individual will revert to their original characteristics with no memory of their time as SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 cannot, and will not willingly remove SCP-XXXX when in direct eyesight of a humanoid creature, or a direct threat to human life, but has been shown to do so when recorded or being viewed by non-humanoid creatures that show no threat. In all situations, when an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 commits actions that would typically be beyond the average human limit that individual suffers increased physical trauma and any existing condition or disease is exacerbated upon removal of SCP-XXXX. Due to the danger that SCP-XXXX can cause SCP-XXXX-2, and the difficulty to activate or deactivate the effects of SCP-XXXX, testing is prohibited without the permission of an individual with Clearance Level 4 or higher, and SCP-XXXX is not to be worn by any Foundation Personnel with a Clearance Level of 3 or higher.

Addendum XXXX-A:

After Incident Log-XXXX-5 it has been determined that SCP-XXXX does not always activate in the presence of a threat, whether this is because SCP-XXXX does not care about self-preservation, or because SCP-XXXX does not activate under certain behaviors is unknown.

Addendum XXXX-B:

SCP-XXXX is not to be removed from it's containment for any reason without permission from at least 1 Clearance Level-4 individual. See Incident Log-XXXX-5

Incident ████-1
Date: ██/09/2013
Dead Personnel: 1
Injured Personnel: 3
Rescued Personnel: 1
Condition of SCP-XXXX-2: KIA, Asthma.
Recorded Activity Involving SCP-XXXX:A D-Class, D-8493, involved in attempting to activate SCP-XXXX's effect for confirmation of anomalous effects within SCP-XXXX was shot in front of another D-Class, D-4792, who was wearing SCP-XXXX. D-4792 became and instance of SCP-XXXX-2 and blocked the bullet with his body. The bullet flattened upon contact with his chest, only damaging his uniform before it made direct skin contact and fell to the ground. Within the same moment SCP-XXXX-2 engaged most of the armed personnel in the nearby area dispatching them nonlethally. The entire incident ended in 13 seconds. D-4792, now an instance of SCP-XXXX-2, calmly returned to his cell without resistance. He was found dead in his cell only a few minutes later. Cause of death has been designated as an asthma attack. D-8493 was non-lethally captured and terminated at a later time. SCP-XXXX was retrieved without further issue.
Sidenotes: D-4792 held no prior combat experience, suggesting SCP-XXXX gives SCP-XXXX-2 any combat knowledge necessary to protect others. Upon Order of Overseer ██████ no Foundation Personnel are to wear SCP-XXXX at any time, and SCP-XXXX should not be worn by those with combat experience.
Within post-incident observations, it was determined by all staff involved that only those who had no intentions of harming either D-Class personnel were left unharmed by SCP-XXXX-2, suggesting the instances can determine hostile intention through unknown means.

Incident ████-3
Date: 01/██/2013
Dead Personnel: 5
Injured Personnel: 14
Condition of SCP-XXXX-2: KIA, death by rapid terminal illness.
Recorded Activity Involving SCP-XXXX: During a breach from SCP-███, SCP-XXXX was equipped by Security Officer ████ Wiggins. SCP-XXXX-2 rushed into the incident, physically tearing through doors to save individuals from SCP-███, upon SCP-███ being re-contained SCP-XXXX-2 retreated back to a bathroom at a later time. SCP-XXXX-2 was found ██ minutes later dead in a stall with SCP-XXXX hanging over the door of the stall. Wiggins was later posthumously honored for his sacrifice.
Sidenotes: SCP-███ showed no direct interest in SCP-XXXX-2, this may be due to the fact that it was already occupied with killing other individuals. Though this is uncertain and may be a second effect of SCP-XXXX. It is estimated that without SCP-XXXX-2's assistance that the number of dead individuals may have raised to as high as ███.

Incident ████-5
Date: 03/██/2013
Dead Personnel: 1
Injured Personnel: 0
Condition of SCP-XXXX-2: N/A, no instance of SCP-XXXX-2 was created.
Recorded Activity Involving SCP-XXXX: Security Officers William ████ and Brandon ███████ removed SCP-XXXX from it’s containment, Officer William put on SCP-XXXX and requested Officer Brandon to open fire on him, the officer loaded his firearm and shot 3 rounds into Officer William’s Skull. Officer William died instantly. Officer Brandon has now been relocated and demoted to D-class for his failure to behave on-duty.
Sidenotes: Dr ███████ has requested that SCP-XXXX receive more stringent containment procedures, this request was accepted on 4/██/2013.

Incident ████-7
Date: 5/██/2015
Dead Personnel: ████
Injured Personnel: ███
Condition of SCP-XXXX-2: KIA, blood-loss from multiple lacerations, signs of extreme asthma.
Recorded Activity Involving SCP-XXXX: SCP-XXXX was temporarily being stored on Site-45 for relocation, a breach involving SCP-███-█ lead to a full site lockdown and nuclear silo activation. At T-Minus 14 minutes from detonation D-1734 was seen in recording to have engaged SCP-███-█ in hand to hand combat while wearing SCP-XXXX This encounter ended with SCP-XXXX-2 receiving multiple lacerations and SCP-███-█ being terminated by surviving On-Site MTF. SCP-XXXX-2 left the scene and was seen on camera seen on camera removing SCP-XXXX in an empty hallway, D-1734 shortly expired afterwords. D-1734 was post-humorously awarded the Foundation Star for his selfless initiative to combat SCP-███-█.
Sidenotes: At this time documents about D-1734 suggest he was not unusual in the list of hosts SCP-XXXX affected, but that his time of being influenced was, this was the first recorded instance of SCP-XXXX-2 removing SCP-XXXX, it was also noticed on said tape that SCP-XXXX did not attempt to protect SCP-███-█ in any manner, instead SCP-XXXX-2 assisted in it's termination, whether this is due to D-1734's original characteristics, the situation itself, or the nature of SCP-███-█ is being researched.

Final Notes on SCP-XXXX and instances of SCP-XXXX-2

I can not be certain on this matter, but it appears all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 that have occured are neutral towards all factions involved with the scenario, rather viewing things on a "good and evil", whether this exists in a spectrum of blacks, whites, and grays is being studied.

-Senior Researcher ████ Hanson

SCP-XXXX-2 instances has shown overwhelming strength and lack of regard towards Foundation Property, if any instance believed the Foundation was dangerous and decided to destroy a facility it could, I am formally requesting recognition of this and to update it's object class to Keter.

- Chief of Security of Site-███

Your request for Keter classification has been denied. After SCP-XXXX-2 managed to help recontain SCP-███ I think we can all agree it's on our side. Follow the procedures and there won't be a breach.
