Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX consists of four anomalous hens of various breeds. They are to be contained in a 10 by 10 enclosure composed of wood and chicken wire. The enclosure will also contain a three by five coop elevated a foot above the ground. They produce one egg a day, although none of the chicks hatched from said eggs had anomalous properties. Feeding is to consist of one standard jar of scratch at 9:00 in the morning and one standard sized jar of scratch at night. They are to be closed up at night. The coop is to be cleaned once a week.
Reading material should be provided to XXXX-1 to ensure compliance, when requested and not as a reward for good behavior.
Under no circumstances should XXXX-3 be more then thirty feet apart from XXXX-4, as that will trigger XXXX-3’s anomalous effects. Should XXXX-3’s anomalous effects be triggered, a containment breach must be declared, and XXXX-1 and XXXX-2 should be removed from the area if possible. A smaller enclosure must be built in the center of the main one to hold XXXX-3.
A covered walkway no less than three feet in width and two feet long must be available to XXXX-1 and XXXX-2 at all times. The total length of the enclosure at its longest point should not exceed fifteen feet.
XXXX-1 and -2 are to be allowed access to a separate enclosure at their own discretion, and records are to be kept of the stories which XXXX-1 reads to its companion.
Their lifespans are standard for outdoor chickens, lasting anywhere between four to five years(although XXXX-1 has survived far longer).
Description: SCP XXXX-1 manifests in the form of a chicken of the breed known colloquially as (redacted). It weighs sixteen point two ounces and is eleven inches tall. As is standard for its breed, its color is dark red.
It is capable of human speech, and is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Latin, Greek and Old English, as well as being able to read. It speaks in an accent consistent with that from the Pacific Islands. This only activates, however, when it is more then ten feet away from XXXX-4. Otherwise, it lacks the ability to speak but retains its literacy.
Following Incident 3259, in which XXXX-1 breached containment and vanished for twelve years, XXXX-1 has expressed desire to publish an account of its journey in a book entitled Quest of the Blood Red Warrior. Request was granted.
SCP XXXX-2 manifests in the form of a chicken of the breed known colloquially as (redacted). It is the second largest of the four instances, red and white in color as is standard for its breed. Its height is seventeen inches and its weight is approximately three pounds. Its beak is extraordinarily sharp, allowing it to peck through most materials. However, it will only do so if it believes there to be food hidden behind it. Under no condition should food be kept from it, as that will invariably result in it heading towards the food in the most direct route. Water, reinforced concrete, five inch thick wooden boards and thirty foot thick reinforced concrete all proved ineffective in preventing it from reaching the food. It appears to enjoy the company of XXXX-1. At least once a day, it will seek out XXXX-1 and request that XXXX-1 read a story to it. Due to this, it seems that XXXX-2 is illiterate, although capable of understanding an equal amount of languages as XXXX-1, who is capable of reading the story in the original language it was written in.
SCP XXXX-3 is a chicken of the breed known colloquially as (redacted). It is a similar size to SCP-XXXX-1, except that it is a buff color, typical for its breed. It is twelve inches tall and two pounds.
Once it is further then thirty feet from XXXX-4 it will enter a state of panic after which it will mutate into a skeletal cat which hunts down anything near it. As long as it is within thirty feet of XXXX-4 it will not enter said state of panic, due to the calming effect of XXXX-4
SCP XXXX-4 is a chicken of the breed known colloquially as (redacted). It is the apparent leader. Its height is fifteen inches, and it weighs four pounds. As is standard for its breed, it is black and white.
Its anomalous properties manifest in the event that an instance is killed. Should an instance cease to exist, it will lay an egg which will germinate, hatch and fully mature into the instance which was destroyed in the span of twenty-four hours.
In the event that another instance(excluding XXXX-3) is put in a dangerous situation against its will, XXXX-4 will enter a state of agitation, and travel at high speeds to get between the instance in danger and the threat.
