Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: All Scp-XXXX specimens are to be kept in a 8 square kilometer enclosure in the upper mountainous regions of Site-104. The area of containment is surrounded by a 3.5m tall x 1m thick concrete reinforced stone wall. A minimum of 3 two-man teams of agents disguised as “county forest rangers” should be on watch in the interior perimeter with patrol shifts of [REDACTED]. A single research team of 4 (two field agents, two researchers) will observe Scp-XXXX specimens reporting any changes in migration route and of any Scp-XXXX-A movements, making camp 100 meters from Scp-XXXX’s current feeding location.
Staff Notice:
During the movement of Scp-xxxx agents are to be called in to then nutrify the feeding zones and send iron and quartz deposits to the next migration trail.
Any and all tests performed on Scp-XXXX must be cleared either by Dr. ██████ or by someone with Level-3 or above clearance who specializes in biological Scps.
Description: Scp-XXXX has two primary variations not including itself; Scp-XXXX-A and Scp-XXXX-C. Scp-XXXX was discovered in the [REDACTED] numbered at 10 specimens while one ████-██ instance was watching the group.
Scp-XXXX is a large species of chelonian of unknown classification completely comprised of different rocks primarily found to be granite and slate. All recorded specimens of Scp-XXXX have an approximate head to tail length of 2m to 9m. When active; specimens move in a group migration pattern, scouring mountainous regions to find a viable source of food.
Scp-XXXX, though it seems to be tortoise-like in appearance it doesn't correspond with any known reptile's biology, autopsies reveal that it's organ and skeletal structure are completely different than any organism in recorded history. Travelling in groups of 10-20 members XXXX is always on a search to find locations with a high density of nutrients in the soil to feed on. Upon finding such locations they then proceed to bury themselves weaving their claws into the soil, leaving only the tops of their shells above ground. After burial specimens will lay dormant for 3-5 weeks absorbing nutrients from the soil, only moving once a week to walk around repeating the cycle until they have removed all nutrients from the area and resume their migratory behavior.
It is to be noted though that the next site is never picked at random or simply by plant life. The main deciding factor with Scp-XXXX is sources of metal and or quartz which they feed on in large quantities during their migration cycle. It is confirmed that the metal and crystal is not only used as some sort of dietary supplement but, also makes up XXXX’s skeletal structure allowing it to move at surprisingly fast rates for how heavy it is. They prefer metals found in an ore state but, if they can not locate any in the surrounding areas they will just proceed to eat straight metal found in human settlements and rocks from the surrounding area (see capture log below).
There are two primary variants of Scp-XXXX; Scp-XXXX-A and, Scp-XXXX-C. The latter of the two occurs occasionally much like albinism in animals, because while Scp-XXXX is primarily made from different types of stone Scp-XXXX-C is instead has most of its shell replaced with crystalline structures primarily composed of iron and the quartz it eats. These specimens eat many more mineral and metal deposits than what is considered normal and tend to be more dangerous due to their usage the of sharp crystals growing on their bodies to “remove” obstacles or disturbances.
Scp-XXXX-A however is not a mutation, more of an alpha. Only one Scp-XXXX-A is found in any given group of Scp-XXXX and acts as sort of a leader or protector while migrating from place to place. Scp-XXXX-A is very aggressive and are currently found to be a minimum of 15m long with larger distinguishing spines on the sides of its tail. The one currently watching over the group in containment (named Archel by foundation staff) is 10 years old, born shortly after containment with a current total body length of 16m. When Scp-XXXX-A begins moving all personnel are required to keep a distance of 200m away from the entire group in light of [REDACTED].
There has only been one occurrence of a mix of these two variations know as Scp-XXXX-AC which is currently being kept at [REDACTED] after initial capture (see below). Specimen AC was given the name Alloch (Al among staff) and was measured at a total length of 20m from head to tail. So far it has been found that AC specimens are extremely violent when it comes to protecting Scp-XXXX and will proceed to [REDACTED] when they feel the group is threatened.
Addendum XXXX-K: Request for weaponizing Scp-XXXX-AC is currently pending under 05 command.
