Item #: SCP-4437
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures When SCP-4437 is not being used for testing, it is to be kept in a 20" X 20" X 15" trunk, with the metal latch always secured. If SCP-4437 is to be taken out of the box, it cannot make contact with human skin. Thus personnel must wear gloves when handling SCP-4437, and wear long-sleeved shirts and pants to prevent any accidental contact with SCP-4437.
Description: SCP-4437 is an 84" X 92" multicolored quilt, made of multiple, different, soft fabrics, including cotton, and different types of clothing, mostly shirts and soft pants. It was originally discovered by it's only recorded victim and was purchased at the individual's towns local {REDACTED}, where the workers handle all of the items with gloves, before setting items out in the store. When SCP-4437 comes into contact with human skin, the person who was touched SCP-4437 feels a profound sense of comfort and affection from SCP-4437. The person will be compelled to wrap the quilt around their body while they are alone, to relieve anxiety or any other negative emotions the person might possess. The person affected by SCP-4437 will become so content, they will forget basic needs, such as taking showers, going to work, or in more advanced stages of SCP-4437's influence, forget to eat, drink, or relieve themselves
The following experiments were conducted to further the knowledge of SCP-4437
Test A - May, 12, 1989
Subject: Class-D 88745
Procedure: Introduce SCP-4437 for three days, and observe Class-D 88745's behavior
Results: The cognitive impact of SCP-4437 varies between person to person for a seemingly unknown reason, more research to be done.
**Analysis: Class-D 88745 was placed in a containment cell alone, and Personel placed SCP-4437 around Class-D 88745's shoulders, providing him with food, water, a lavatory with a few books for "leisure". The Class-D ignored the books and didn't move other than to eat, drink, and relieve himself, and insisted on having SCP-4437 draped around his shoulders at all. When asked by Personel how he feels, the Class-D states that he feels "peaceful" and when Researchers take blood samples during the three day period, levels of dopamine and serotonin have increased by 30% compared to samples taken before testing. **

In an experiment to test the extent of SCP-4437's cognitive effects, Researchers place SCP-4437 on top of a Class-D personel for three days, at the end of the three days, the Class-D personel had no other desire other than to stay underneath SCP-4437. When Researchers pull SCP-4437 off, the Class-D personel immediately asked for water and food and urinated themselves on the floor of the containment cell.
Another experiment was conducted on two different Class-D personel, both having different mental states and levels of trauma. The first Class-D personel displayed more mild effects of SCP-4437's effects, being able to function normally but requesting to have SCP-4437 draped over their shoulders while they eat and drink and asking to take it to the lavatory with them. The second Class-D personel was effected far more adversely by SCP-4437, who after three days of being exposed to SCP-4437, had expressed a complete loss of interest in anything. The Class-D had no desire to do anything, other than have SCP-4437 wrapped around its body. When Researchers attempted to remove SCP-4437 from the Class-D personel, they started crying and wailing hysterically, saying that "he was finally happy" and that the Researchers were "cruel bastards" who wanted him to "suffer alone". When the researchers were able to remove SCP-4437, the Class-D became mentally stable and stopped crying, but looked visibly emotionally distressed.
