Dr_Kitt3nz SCP idea 1

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:

SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard containment locker alongside several balls of yarn. This locker is to be accessible by level 3 and higher personal for testing purposes only until further notice due to the misuse of SCP-XXXX's beneficial proprieties. Instances of SCP-XXXX-A are to be kept close to the subject that made them for the purposes of increased productivity and safe keeping of SCP-XXXX-A instances. Retrieval of SCP-XXXX for testing is to be done by hand.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a set of crochet hooks of various colors and sizes, kept in a small black case. SCP-XXXX does not include the yarn that is kept with it despite what some personal think.

The property of SCP-XXXX occurs when a subject touches SCP-XXXX, although it has been noted that the properties can only be used once per individual, unless the instance of SCP-XXXX-A made by the subject is terminated, in which case, the subject will feel a desire to reuse SCP-XXXX to remake their SCP-XXXX-A instance.

When a subject makes physical contact with SCP-XXXX, feel a very feint compulsion to use SCP-XXXX, although the compulsion is weak enough to ignore completely with no consequence. If a subject indulges in the compulsion, they will sit down and start making a crochet project and not stop until the project is complete with whatever yarn is available at the time. The time to finish a project is approximately 10 times quicker, some subjects taking shorter or longer. When the subject completes their project, they will often be pleasantly surprised by what they have made, an instance of SCP-XXXX-A which is immediately friendly towards the subject that made them. SCP-XXXX-A instances come in a variety of shapes and colors based on what yarn was available, but always represents some form of land dwelling animal, which always turns out to be the favorite land dwelling animal of the subject.

SCP-XXXX-A has some beneficial properties when in close proximity of the subject that made them. SCP-XXXX-A, when within 10 meters of the corresponding subject, will appear happy and playful. When this close to an instance of SCP-XXXX-A, subjects state that they feel ‘calm’ and ‘focused.’ Testing has shown that the subject, while within this range of SCP-XXXX-A, is able to perform tasks at a more efficient rate, boosting productivity to about 150% of what it was previously for the subject. While SCP-XXXX-A is within 10 meters, the instance of SCP-XXXX-A will run around and ‘play’ with what it can, not wanting to go outside of this range during the subject’s work.

SCP-XXXX-A, when within the range of 10 meters to 100 meters, doesn’t appear to affect the subject in any way as far as testing can tell.

When an instance of SCP-XXXX-A is further than 100 meters away from their corresponding subject, the subject reports feeling ‘agitated’ and ‘upset’, and the instance of SCP-XXXX-A appears to respond in the same way, forming small tear shaped crochet patches under its eyes and walking around in circles. SCP-XXXX-A also displays this behavior if the corresponding subject dies of unnatural causes.

SCP-XXXX-A instances are willing to throw themselves in harms way to protect their corresponding subject in the case of danger, but do not provide much protection if any. Discussion is ongoing to see if subjects can be provided bags to carry and hold their instances of SCP-XXXX-A in place, and not in harm's way in the event of containment breaches of other SCPs, or in other dangerous situations.

The following paragraphs are the simplified version of the testing of sensory perceptions of SCP-XXXX-A instances.

Sight: SCP-XXXX-A instances are capable of sight, being able to point to different shapes, colors, and even words when prompted. Testing has also shown that some SCP-XXXX-A instances may be able to see in the dark. Testing is ongoing.

Hearing: SCP-XXXX-A instances are capable of hearing, however they only follow the commands of the subject that made them. Testing is ongoing.

Smell: SCP-XXXX-A instances appear to be capable of smelling different scents, however it is limited to two categories, ‘good’ or ‘bad.’ What these categories mean is unnown, although it is theorized that it's able to smell what won't be harmful to the corresponding subject. Testing is ongoing.

Taste: SCP-XXXX-A instances do not seem capable of taste. Considering that SCP-XXXX-A does not require sustenance, this isn’t surprising. Despite this, testing is ongoing.

Touch: SCP-XXXX-A instances are capable of feeling touch, and love being pet and rubbed. It is currently unknown if SCP-XXXX-A instances are able to sense fine detail, but testing is ongoing.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-A, when presented with another instance of SCP-XXXX-A, will ‘play’ with the other instance. It is recommended that personnel that have made instances of SCP-XXXX-A allow their instances to play for 5 minutes a day with other instances of SCP-XXXX-A if they come across other instances. This recommendation serves two purposes. One is to allow a break for personnel, while the second is to provide time to see if any information can be gathered from the play of two instances.

The following information is in reference to the last sentence of the previous paragraph after several weeks of SCP-XXXX-A playtime:
It appears that some instances of SCP-XXXX-A have not enjoyed playing with each other. It is of note that the personnel that had non playful instances are generally not cooperative with each other, suggesting that instances of SCP-XXXX-A are able to identify if subjects are of conflicting personalities. Testing is ongoing.
