Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-5274 is to be stored in a 4x4x4 inch lead vacuum chamber, approximately 6 inches thick. Checks for cracks or holes are mandatory every hour. Description: SCP-5274 is what appears to be a traditional statue of a Japanese demon, or oni. However, when subject comes into contact with a living organism, it has been discovered to destroy and replace the DNA of the organism (who will be now referred to as SCP-5274-1) , strand by strand. Altered DNA has been found to be almost an exact duplicate, but the biological structure is damaged and warped.

SCP-5274-1 begins to feel a sharp pain in the elbow and knees after a few minutes of exposure. After 10 minutes, the bones begin to burst through. After 1 hour, the skin and bones are so warped that SCP-5274-1 reminds many of a scorpion, spider, or some other insect. After this transition, SCP-5274-1 (now SCP-5274-2) will begin to hunt others down by [DATA EXPUNGED], and feeding off the corpse. This is why it is often nicknamed 'corpse creeper'.

SCP-5274 was discovered in a demolished temple on the outskirts of Japan by [DATA REDACTED]. It was located in an underground shaft inside the building, with stone depictions of samurai stabbing and guarding it. Many normal skeletons were found around the shaft, most of the ones inside the shaft, however, had bones stretched out in a grotesque way. They were confirmed to be, in fact, the remains of ████ and ███████ in the form of SCP-5274-2.
