Dr Lawerence

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within an Airtight Specialized Secure Large Fauna Containment Cell in Research Sector-13 at site-31. The walls of SCP-XXXX’s containment cell are to be lined with sound proof foam blocks to prevent any vocalizations made by SCP-XXXX from being heard by nearby personnel (see addendum XXXX.2). Video surveillance of SCP-XXXX is strictly forbidden to prevent personnel from making eye contact with SCP-XXXX (see addendum XXXX.3). If any personnel speak to SCP-XXXX, an immediate containment breach will be declared.(see addendum XXXX.4).

In the event of a containment breach, all personnel will be evacuated from Research Sector-13, which will then be put in a state of lockdown. Any personnel attempting to re-enter the sector will be apprehended accordingly. Research Sector-13 will remain on lockdown until Mobile Task Force Eta-10 recontain SCP-XXXX.

In order to recontain SCP-XXXX, the object must first be sedated with a Class X sedative. SCP-XXXX will remain sedated for up to 4 weeks. Issuing of sedatives will continue until the containment cell has been restored to its previous state, prior to the breach.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a large mammalian organism, with various features corresponding with North American fauna. SCP-XXXX is measured to be approximately 3.2m tall and weigh upwards of 436kg. Large, presumed antlers, stick out of the head of SCP-XXXX. The use of these antlers is currently unknown. Furthermore, SCP-XXXX has round, large, silver eyes that glow in dark environments. It is presumed that this glowing draws attention to the eyes of SCP-XXXX from targets. Testing of SCP-XXXX’s skin cells, hair follicles, and [REDACTED] have proven that the object is made of biological materials. Despite being an apparent biological organism, SCP-XXXX seemingly requires no subsistence.

SCP-XXXX is a sentient being, capable of speech related to target’s native tongue. Targets always include other sentient beings, most notably, humans. Targets of SCP-XXXX are to be lured closer to SCP-XXXX through usage of vocalizations. It appears that the main goal of SCP-XXXX, is to get the target to communicate verbally or even through body language. Once the target has communicated with SCP-XXXX, the target will generally be designated as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX will then give a command to SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX can make any command it deems necessary to trick SCP-XXXX-1 into complying to the command, almost unknowingly. Once complied, SCP-XXXX will then proceed to kill and consume SCP-XXXX-1, neutralising it. Failure in complying will result in SCP-XXXX manifesting anything in order to force SCP-XXXX-1 complying anyway (see addendum XXXX.5).

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery

A report came, following a paranormal event that occurred on 7/19/1999. The report issued that a father, his son, and two other young men went missing on their camping trip in High Cliff Statepark, Wisconsin. The report was then investigated by the local police force, where approximately 2 more persons went missing. After a very brief investigation, the Foundation was contacted that a large, living, anomalous object had been discovered. There was almost no information about the object upon initial retrieval which had caused 13 MTF personnel to be lost. It required a second team of MTF to retrieve the subject. By then, more information about it’s behavior could be used to attempt to incapacitate the object. Multiple sedatives were used until class X proved effective. SCP-XXXX was then moved to site-62 to be temporarily contained and researched more thoroughly. It would eventually be contained permanently, at site-31.

Addendum XXXX.2: First Breach

Containment Engineer, Dwight Simons was testing the doors to SCP-XXXX’s containment when he heard SCP-XXXX mumble something. The engineer, unknowingly, attempted to respond to the whisper. (Note: it has been confirmed that a response to SCP-XXXX’s vocalizations will cause the same reaction as when eye contact has been made) SCP-XXXX then mumbled what was presumed to be ‘respond again.’ The engineer then vocalized once again and SCP-XXXX immediately breached containment successfully killing and consuming the engineer. MTF Eta-10 were able to recontain SCP-XXXX without further incident.

After the aftermath of the event, Dr. Hawkins issued that soundproof barricading be added to the walls of SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. Within days, the issue was fulfilled, and the cell was lined with soundproof foam. Further testing proved the new protocol; effective.

Addendum XXXX.3: Second Breach and further protocols

Security Agent, Marcus Heim, was on active duty of watching the cameras in SCP-XXXX’s cell. He was observing the object when eye contact was made. SCP-XXXX made a command which could not be heard by the agent. It is still under investigation of what the command was (note: investigation cancelled due to too much risk for an unnecessary answer). SCP-XXXX then proceeded to breach containment and successfully kill and consume the agent. MTF Eta-10 were able to recontain SCP-XXXX without incident.

After the aftermath of the event, Dr. Hawkins issued that security tapes within SCP-XXXX’s cell to be removed and all videos and even photos of SCP-XXXX to be terminated. Dr. Hawkins stated “We are not letting pictures cause the loss of significant life again, we must learn from our past mistakes.”

Addendum 4873.4: An interview and… a third breach

Prior to the interview, a class-D personnel was put into the containment cell of SCP-XXXX. Designated D-5430, he was told not to make eye contact and to ask SCP-XXXX a question. If a command was made, D-5430 was presumed to be dead. D-5430 asked SCP-XXXX for it’s name. SCP-XXXX responded "SCP-XXXX.”
After no further incident, D-5430 was removed and testing was concluded.

Interviewer: Dr. Edwards, codename “Glen”

Interviewee: SCP-XXXX

Interview protocol: A class-D personnel has been introduced to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell with a microphone and speaker. Glen is unable to hear what SCP-XXXX directly says, however the class-D can. The class-D is instructed to relay any information spoken by SCP-XXXX to Glen. This seemingly over complicated procedure is to attempt to prevent a breach and any loss of significant life.

Begin Log.

Glen: Hello, SCP-XXXX. Can you hear me?

SCP-XXXX: Of course, you have this damned thing blaring in my ear.

Glen: Good. Let us start with the interview procedure. I will be asking you several questions which we expect you to answer. Please cooperate with us if you wish. Failure to answer these questions directly will result in skipping the question. Staying silent will achieve the same result. If at any time you show what we consider ‘hostility’ this interview will be suspended. Okay, that out of the way, let us begin.

Glen: What are your origins?

SCP-XXXX: A question… I am not aware of an answer to this question. I appeared one day in a field and began this… life.

Glen: By ‘appeared’ are you implying that you were created or transferred instead of born?

SCP-XXXX: I believe, I was created, yes.

Glen: What do you think of other sentient beings such as yourself?

SCP-XXXX: I think… they taste mighty fine… and are a useful resource.

Glen: What are you implying by ‘resource’?

SCP-XXXX: apon eating prey I, gain their… knowledge. However, it fades away over time. In order for me to remain… Sentient, I need to feed often.

Glen: How do you feel about being contained?

SCP-XXXX: it has… limited my abilities for sure. However, I still have my ways.

Glen: What would happen if you lost all ability to communicate?

SCP-XXXX: Sentience… would be harder to maintain. Although I would not lose it.

Glen: What is your purpose?

SCP-XXXX: Remain sentient.

Glen: For what reason?

SCP-XXXX: To continue my… work.

Glen: What is your ‘work’?

SCP-XXXX: Please elaborate.

Glen: Wh-

SCP-XXXX then proceeds to breach containment and successfully kill and consume Dr Edwards.
The class-D personnel was then retrieved and returned to his cell. MTF Eta-10 were able to recontain SCP-XXXX without further incident. Dr. Hawkins has prohibited further interviews with SCP-XXXX from happening.

Addendum XXXX.5: Failure to comply, results in complying anyways

Note: prior to this test, a camera has been fixated temporarily within SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. All personnel are to be highly cautious of this incredibly risky but crucial test. All personnel except for those required to conduct the test have been evacuated, prior to testing, so in the event of a containment breach, the least amount of life is lost possible.

Testing procedure: A class-D personnel will be introduced to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. The class-D will be instructed to do the exact opposite of whatever SCP-XXXX tells him/her to do. Results will be written and the video feed terminated once results are concluded.

Test results: D-6431 was introduced to SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. D-6431 instantly made eye contact with object and displayed noticeable distress but was assured to continue his mission. SCP-4873 told D-6431 to ‘run’, in which D-6431 then stood completely still. SCP-XXXX then told D-6431 to ‘stand still’ in which D-6431 began to dance around. This resulted in a cold laugh from SCP-XXXX. However, SCP-XXXX quickly regained composure and suddenly manifested an exact copy of D-6431. This copy was confirmed not living when SCP-XXXX the copy splitting it practically in two. SCP-XXXX then forced D-6431 into the copy which presumably was the perfect size to cause D-6431 to stand still. D-6431 was then terminated and the copy unmanifested.

Test Conclusions: When SCP-XXXX-1 fails to comply to SCP-XXXX’s demand, SCP-XXXX will presumably manifest whatever it deems necessary to force SCP-XXXX-1 to comply to it’s demand. Test successful and no further incidents occurred.
