SCP-XXXX-A

SCP-XXXX-1 moored at ███, Scotland

Item # SCP-XXXX

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures

Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, it cannot itself be contained by known means. However, containment of SCP-XXXX-1 effectively neutralises any danger from SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be monitored passively by foundation agents, with a quick response force on standby with fast watercraft to prevent civilians boarding SCP-XXXX-1. Any civilians attempting to board SCP-XXXX-1 are to be prevented from doing so and administered amnestics. Should an unauthorised civilian be aboard SCP-XXXX-1 at the time of an Alpha event, the remains are to be retrieved and disposed of through standard foundation procedure.

At all times, foundation Unmanned Aerial Vehicles should be on standby in the Argyll region to scramble in case of an Alpha event and locate SCP-XXXX-1.

Any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be left aboard SCP-XXXX-1 and not interacted with unless given proper clearance.

Description

SCP-XXXX is believed to be either an alternate dimension, or another planet within our universe. Very little reliable information has been gathered about SCP-XXXX. It appears to contain an atmosphere of breathable yet corrosive air, that causes significant damage to human tissue and has so far irreparably damaged all foundation equipment sent in. It contains an ocean of unknown black liquid (possibly water) that was described by D-██████ as similar in appearance to crude oil. Based on the statements of D-██████, it is believed that artificial stone structures emerge from the ocean throughout SCP-XXXX. D-██████ could not identify a pattern or purpose to these structures.

SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be a regular fishing vessel, approximately 15 metres in length, with no crew. No name or registry number have yet been found, and although it appears to be a relatively modern vessel, no date of manufacture has been identified. The fact that SCP-XXXX-1 is fairly inconspicuous makes containment procedures relatively easy to carry out, as its appearance rarely attracts significant local attention. The vessel contains one logbook, containing no other information than "Departure (place)" and "Arrival (place)".

The first three log entries are as follows:

Departure (place): Construct 1
Arrival (place): Construct 66

Departure (place): Construct 66
Arrival (place) Construct 4

Departure (place): Construct 4
Arrival (place) Construct 66

The second and third log entries repeat in an alternating pattern for ███ pages as of ██/██/2020 with no further mention of "Construct 1". After each Alpha event, two new entries are present in the log, indicating that the vessel has travelled from "Construct 4" to "Construct 66" and then back to "Construct 4"

The only other anomalous objects found permanently aboard SCP-XXXX-1 are a series of 10 containers, approximately 1.5m cubed with removable lids. They are constructed of glass an unknown transparent material, similar in appearance to glass, with an extremely high chemical durability.

SCP-XXXX-2 is a fine powder, light red in colour, found aboard SCP-XXXX-1 after an Alpha event. It is found in the glass containers in the vessel's hold. Immediately after each Alpha event, the approximately 80% full. Over the course of the following 30 days, the contents of these containers gradually disappear, disappearing approximately 50% faster if its container lid is removed, leading researchers to speculate that this substance is being dispersed into Earth's atmosphere. The effects of XXXX-2 are as of yet unknown, though the timings of Alpha events have been linked with spikes in atmospheric ███████ levels and violent anomalous activity in local sites ██, ██, and ██. Any definite correlation, however, is yet to be determined.
