The Binary Virus

Item #: SCP-4472

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4472 is to be kept within a 5x5x5 containment room surrounded by soundproof perimeter mechanisms to prevent Foundation Personnel or Class D around the SCP to not accidentally hear the sounds that SCP-4472 emits. This includes, but is not limited to, soundproof pads, thick walls, etc. The containment chamber is to be regularly checked for rips, cracks, or any wearing of the soundproof perimeter.

Under no circumstance is SCP-4472 inserted into any other computer, operating system, or connected to any public or private internet connection due to the Level 7 Cyber threats it demonstrates. Furthermore, any personnel that is to insert SCP-4472 into any computer other than its origin computer is to be investigated further and given a punishment orientated from the Ethics Committee’s Sentencing Sub-Committee.

Description: SCP-4472 is a reproductive SCP that takes the appearance of a Windows 7 (8 Gb HGX) Hard Drive made roughly around 2006. The SCP is internally connected to the computer but is able to be pulled out with robotic arms.

Due to the reproductive dangers of SCP-4472, any reproductions of SCP-4472-2 must be contained as soon as it is made as the Foundation thinks of ways to terminate the reproductions of SCP-4472. SCP-4472 produces instances of SCP-4472 by 00:36:23.44 exposure time to the morse code sounds that SCP-4472 emits or by direct usage of the computer after a time of 10 minutes.

Recent termination tests show that SCP-4472-2 weakens with EMP shocks, but shows no significant damage to itself and continues with the cycle of regular activities and behaviors. SCP-4472 takes the shape of a human being but resembles a mass of meaningless lines of a binary and numerical code. Recent tests do show that SCP-4472 is sociable and speaks with the other masses of SCP-4472-2 with morse code audio rather than oral speech.

After all tests that involve audible or physical contact with SCP-4472, the subjects involved must undergo a 24-hour psychological exam and medical and brain monitoring for 48 hours (See Addendum 4472-O5-D) before full return to Class - D assignments.

Once SCP-4472 is connected to any other computer other than its current Windows 7 PC, the computer is immediately fried and unusable in any sort. Causing all past files, computer components, and its external usage to be destroyed. If the computer is possibly connected to an internet source, both the router/modem and the computer is to be immediately destroyed when possible. Once connected to the private or public network, the SCP may control all hardware and software systems such as security systems, automatic doors, traffic lights, and personal technology.

SCP-4472 was recently captured and contained by Mobile Task Force unit Mu-4 "Debuggers" in a suburban neighborhood █████ ████, ████ █████, ██, US after several reports of loud beeping of what sounded like morse code encryption. During the investigation made by Epsilon-6, the task force located several instances of SCP-4472-2. Also known as the “children” of SCP-4472. The instances of SCP-4472-2 were immediately contained and the structure holding them was destroyed.

SCP-4472 is thought to have been an accidental creation from Donald ████████ as implied from the items of interest that were possessed by Mu-4 retrieval teams during a retrieval operation of SCP-4472 (See MU-4472_RETRIEVAL_LOG).

SCP-4472's speech is translatable through morse code translation software.

Addendum 4472-2-EC-SCM
To avoid extra occurrences of SCP-4472-2, the test must be approved by Ethics Committee members of ranking Senior Committee Member and higher.

Addendum 4472-IR-T
By order of the O5 Council, instances of SCP-4472 are to be terminated as soon as possible when a method is discovered due to the overload amount of instances.

Addendum 4472-SD-SR
By order of the O5-██. No Scientific Department personnel under the ranking of Senior Researcher may test on SCP-4472, with the exception of Researchers testing under surveillance from either member of the Directorate, Supervisory Board, or Board of Research.

Addendum 4472-O5-D
By order of the O5-██, all Class - D subjects used during are required to pass a 24 hour psychological exam and 48 hour medical and brain activity monitoring.
