Item #: SCP-Yet To Be Given ID
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Under the current circumstances, containment of SCP-TBA is impossible to Foundation staff. Due to an everchanging amnestic infohazard affecting short term memory, Foundation staff, as well as similarly informed groups and organizations, have until the creation of this record, been unable to register the existence of SCP-TBA. Immediate attempts to follow similar containment procedures to SCP-2268 and SCP-1584 have proven impossible.
This is due to an even more accelerated amnestic infohazard to programmers asked to take down, flag, or otherwise, hinder the publicity of SCP-TBA. For now, the only thing that is possible is for the continued monitoring and comparing records between SCP-TBA and foundation files using the Reseach Consultant procedure.
Description: According to records taken using the Research Consultant procedure, SCP-TBA is an anomalous website that provides a scalped version of the Foundation's documentation of anomalies labeled in the Foundation database and incidents of Foundation personnel, other similar groups such as the GOC, and alternate realities. This database is akin to a "Wikipedia" site in nature and portrays the events within as fiction to those who can read it. The Foundation and other groups described by SCP-TBA are unable to find and remember the exact existence of SCP-TBA.
The existence of SCP-TBA was brought to the Foundation's attention by Dr. Lewis Galaway. At the time of contact, Galaway was not in possession of a Doctorate, nor was he a member of the Foundation. Credence was given to the report due to the anomalous nature by which Galaway found the existence of the Foundation as it was not a result of SCP-TBA's properties, but those of Galaway himself. Using the knowledge of SCP-TBA and his own anomalous properties, Galaway makes a case to the Foundation that he should be contained via becoming a researcher for the Foundation.
During the conversation, it was found that using the job description of "Research Consultant", to describe a Foundation personnel separates the two parties enough for said "Consultant" to retain the knowledge of SCP-TBA. This revelation prompted the hiring of the, as of now, Dr. Lewis Galaway as a "Research Consultant" as a means to understand SCP-TBA. Under no circumstances has SCP-TBA been able to be blocked from public view by any party with any degree of separation from the Foundation via a second, instantaneous infohazard amnestic.
While examining the first few SCP designations on the database, it was found that a small majority of the documentation held incorrect, or warped facts in comparison to official Foundation records. The overall documentation is correct aside from these errors. As of yet, it is unknown if this is related to its anomalous effects or is the result of the database's imitation of a "Wikipedia".
Addendum: 6/5/2019: Transcription of Lewis Galaway's Account of SCP-TBA Prior Finding the Foundation.
Lewis Galaway: So, where do I start? My problem, or the Wiki? (Galaway pulls up SCP-TBA for Dr. █████ in order to combat the amnestic.)
Dr. █████: Begin with how you found the "Wiki" as you call it.
Lewis Galaway: Alright, I should begin with the fact I don't use the internet without protection.
Dr. █████: So it passes our current antivirus protocols.
Lewis Galaway: No, well, yes I use antivirus software, but I meant in terms of my affliction. My internet speed is intentionally slow, the computer timeout is extremely short, and as one last example, I use a flip phone.
Dr. █████: What does this have to do with the website anomaly?
Lewis Galaway: The reason being is for you to understand how easy it was to connect to the site. It took less than a minute of face planting onto the keyboard to provide me with enough pages on SCP's that I wrote down the acronym before I went comatose.
Dr. █████: The site made you go comatose?
Lewis Galaway: No, but the site was large enough that it could be found within [Data Expunged], essentially random search queries on google. The week-long coma is part of my affliction, but that incident made me aware of the site.
Dr. █████: In that case, how did the site lead you to the Foundation?
Lewis Galaway: It wasn't the site's fault, aside from putting the concept of the fictional foundation in my head. I had another, similar, incident a few months later with one big difference.
Dr. █████: That difference being?
Lewis Galaway: After my recovery from the first incident, I began to browse the site. All I knew is it made a big enough impression on me in the less than a minute that I wrote it down. I've actually gotten decently versed in the site.
Dr. █████: Please stay on track.
Lewis Galaway: Sorry, as I was saying, I was reading into the creepier parts of the site when I got a text. I was paranoid at the time so the noise got me to jump from my seat. However, I hit my knees on the desk which caused me to collapse onto it and my keyboard. Since I was on the site when the second incident occurred, I caught glimpses of the real Foundation through what I'm now guessing are the anomalous channels the site uses to gather data.
Dr. █████: And so, you came across the [Data Expunged] which included the address to this site?
Lewis Galaway: You got it, though writing it down was a challenge as the second incident left me under for roughly two months.
Dr. █████: You said before this interview that you'd like to become a researcher for the Foundation, wouldn't the files you've seen make you afraid the Foundation would make efforts to contain you over a giving you a job?
Lewis Galaway: Of course, but, considering I'm willing to sacrifice my safety to help, and my experience with the website I'd like to at the very least give you an example of my thought process for if I were able to be contained through means of a contract instead of a prison.
Dr. █████: That decision would not be mine, however, a few higher-ups are viewing this interview. You made, an entrance, walking straight up to the front door.
Lewis Galaway: I would ask what levels you're talking about, but that doesn't end well in most of the files I've seen. Anyway, let's begin with what we know. You, and the other researchers I've shown this to aren't able to remember it when you look away from it. But, "normal" people who I've shown it to, and myself, can. My best theory is that Foundation staff are the only ones affected.
Dr. █████: I would hope there's more if this is meant to prove your use.
Lewis Galaway: Trust me, I've seen enough on this website to understand that. Judging by the fact that the Foundation is still standing, no offense, but I would extend my theory to groups like the GOC and the Chaos Insurgency. Essentially, big organizations based in the anomalous are unable to directly interact with the website. I have a quick test to prove this, for the span of one minute, make me a member of the foundation in some capacity.
Dr. █████: One minute, you can do a lot with one minute.
Lewis Galaway: Ok, 30 seconds, the point isn't what I can do, it's what I can't. (Galaway writes the following as he speaks it.) You pull up a page in the site, show me, turn the monitor and ask me what I saw. Then, make me a temporary Foundation member to test the amnestic on me.
Dr. █████: (Dr. █████ waits for approval from the staff viewing the interview.) You've got one shot, do not make me regret it.
**Lewis Galaway:* (Galaway is shown SCP-████.) Alright SCP-████, I appreciate you're choice being classified safe. (Galaway is given "temporary membership" to the Foundation.)
Dr. █████: So, what object were you just shown? What's it's designation?
Lewis Galaway: (Galaway looks around, visibly confused.) Is this… is this a military base? (Galaway continues asking nonsense questions in a fit of anxiety.) What did I touch? Who told you what happens to me?
Dr, █████: You did, Lewis, now think, what did I just show you?
Lewis Galaway: (Galaway rubs his forehead furiously until the time runs out.) Oh! SCP-████, I appreciate you're choice being classified safe.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Galaway's experiment alongside other factors calls for the designation of the database as SCP-TBA. Galaway himself has agreed to a contract written by O5-7, who had viewed the entire exchange involving Galaway. After training, he and another researcher designated to Galaway will lead the documentation of SCP-TBA.
Addendum: 6/12/2019: Dr. Galaway's Test Log 1
Amnestic Test 1 - 6/12
Subject: D-6587
Procedure: Dr. Galaway pulls up SCP-TBA. He then presents D-6587 with the page corresponding to SCP-3008. D-6587 is asked to memorize the title of the page "SCP-3008". After ten minutes of staring at the page, Dr. Galaway blocks D-6587's view of the monitor. D-6587 is asked what SCP designation it was just shown. D-6587 was also asked what business and web page it was just shown.
Results: The D class could not answer any question related to SCP-TBA. However, when asked what store it had just seen it expressed that it felt lost trying to think of it.
Analysis: The D class shows similar reactions to the initial Level 2, and later level 4 staff who first viewed SCP-TBA.
Amnestic Test 2 - 6/12
Subject: ███ █████
Procedure: Dr. Galaway was approved to temporarily remove D-6587 from the D class listing. Effectively creating a subject, ███ █████, who is unrelated to the Foundation officially. Dr. Galaway replicates Amnestic Test 1 under these new conditions. ███ █████ is presented with the page corresponding to SCP-3009. ███ █████ is asked to memorize the title of the page "SCP-3009". After ten minutes of staring at the page, Dr. Galaway blocks ███ █████'s view of the monitor. ███ █████ is asked what SCP designation they were just shown. ███ █████ is also asked what social media platform and website they had just seen.
Results: ███ █████ was able to answer all questions with an average amount of accuracy for the time spent viewing the page.
Analysis: The initial amnestic effect of SCP-TBA is confirmed to be directly linked to whether or not the subject is a part of the Foundation. This confirms the need for the "Research Consultant" protocol.
Amnestic Test 3 - 6/12
Subject: D-6587
Procedure: After D-6587 was reinstated to the D class, Dr. Galaway repeated the questions from Amnestic Test 3.
Results: D-6587 is no longer able to recall the "SCP-3009" corresponding page on SCP-TBA. D-6587 is also no longer able to recall that it was asked these questions previously. When asked about the social media site in question, they guess that it was "something, something rose-tinted."
Analysis: It appears that subjects retain minor knowledge of the topics found in SCP-TBA that exist outside of SCP-TBA, the Foundation, and other related groups.
